Thanks for the great video. I just bought this printer and I'm setting it up. I was hoping that you would include unpacking and setting up the printer to get started and you did an excellent job of doing that too in this video. I had an Epson photo printer many years ago that I loved and I still admire the beautiful prints from that printer. I'll post a follow up comment once I print some pictures .

I would love to see a follow up after you have used this. I would love to hear your pros and cons. I was thinking about the Canon Selphy, but now I think I am going to wait. Do you know paper cost and the price of ink refills?? Would love to hear about that too.

+Kari Thomason Thanks Kari. The Canon Selphy is great for convenience and its a great price too, especially for starting out printing photos at home in my opinon; and I still use mine. As for the PM400 Wireless, looks like Best Buy has the price of about $30 for ink cartridge and 100 count of 4x6 photo paper as of now.

Over two years later, but just ran into this helpful video and I was wondering if you could help me out with the following: I'm considering the Canon Selphy or the Epson PM-400 as a gift for Christmas. I know they're both different prices, but in your opinion, which one would you go with and why? Which one do you still like better two years later? Thanks so much in advanced if you get a chance to see this.

I still use both the Canon Selphy and the Epson PM-400 and I like them both, but if I had to choose I would go with the Epson PM-400 for the fact that I can print a true 4x6 photo (and also 5x7 if I want). The Canon Selphy is great to use (and mine is about 3 years old now), it's just that sometimes I want a true 4x6 photo for the project/s that I am working on. Its a very minor 'con', but that is my rationale:) I haven't researched to see if the newer models of the Selphy print a true 4x6, but I mainly like to use the Selphy for printing smaller photos (by using photo collage apps like PicFrame). Hope that helps:)

@@roseflower317 thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it's greatly appreciated. One more thing: When you say a "true 4x6 photo", is that because the Selphy tends to crop some it out? I noticed that in your video, that not all of the photo is displayed on the print, but I wasn't sure the reason for it. If the Epson does not crop the photo, then that's another point for Epson....thanks again!

Yes, correct. The paper on the Selphy has perforated edges on both ends, which lends to slightly less than 4x6 when the edges are removed. The model that I have is the CP900. Most of my photos are cropped anyway based on how I take pictures, lol, but the Epson does print out a 4x6 photo without having to worry about the ‘cropped edges’ as on my Selphy.

Thx so much for this video! I just bought a Canon Selphy but I can already tell that I wish I had matte options for inks too...so it's nice to know what other options are out there.
