Thank you Jose...I will try your method and see if it works. I will keep you informed as to my possible success. Than you for your prompt reply, gratefully appreciated. Celine
I bought my Epson Picture Mate in 2005, I think. I still have it, and I'm still printing from it. The prints are the best possible available with much more contrast than say the Canon Selphie. That's because it's a six colour process including black. The photos are not anything like as cheap as those produced from many commercial outlets, also the printer is quite slow. I think any electronic device that is still working after 14 years has proved its usefulness. I just hope it continues to work as they're long since discontinued. I would be wary of buying someone else's second hand printer.
Hi, Jose! We inherited one of these units with an old cartridge and all manuals, cords, etc. If you want it we can send it to you for the cost of shipping. It's in perfect condition externally...have no idea how it is internally.
That's but I already have two of them and they are extremely difficult to unclog due to the fact that you will go through several ink cart units and even then it might never truly fully unclog.
Hello - Just found your video....I have the updated model for this and haven't used it in a long time as we moved, misplaced it and finally found it and now I want to use it. I cannot get it to print a test sheet - I put in a new ink cartridge and have cleaned the nozzles by running the machine but still the photo paper comes out blank. How are you cleaning the nozzles? I am sure there is ink dried up in the nozzle and that it why it is not printing. I love this little machine and it is great for scrapbooking my pictures. Thanks for your help....Celine
The print head is totally blocked. I bought a compqtible cart from EBAY. Aspirated all the 6 inks and injected Windex with Ammonia D into the carts and spent over a month and I did get to about 95 percent clear. Never got it to 100.
Found this one in my hoarder uncle's (RIP) house, was too big to fit into my personal luggage bag so I couldnt bring it on the plane back home. I didn't even know if it was working so it wasn't worth it anyway.
I know this an old post. I had just found mine. I never used this. It has the ink. My question is how do I get pictures on it. U mentioned a memory card. The ports don't look like anything I have. I wanted to print from my phone. This was probably before Bluetooth was around. Also will the ink work? It was still in the box brand new. It's been I guess 9 years. Wishful thinking
It used Compact Flash cards. You would need an adapter for using micro SD. I'm sure tour printhead is fully clogged like mine was. Unfortunately I ended up tossing them out.
Hello Jose. Thanks for this excellent video. I have one inquiries: You could upload a picture of better quality on the nozzle pattern. I need to see the colors of an orignal cartridge. Thk
I bought a ink cartridge for my picture mate but i haven't used it for years it wont clean properly so will not print test panels at all really. I thought I would try and print a photo maybe would clear but if i press print it fails to execute and goes back to print menu.
You mentioned at the end that you were attempting to clear the nozzles on a newer model. I own the model in this video - but the automated cleaning cycle hasn't worked after 12 attempts ( the printer has been setting idle for 5 years). Do you have any suggestions - or a video you could share on how to manually clean the nozzles/printhead? Thanks in advance!!
+Christi Samo Yes you can actually inject Windex or Other cleaner directly through the ink spigots using a syringe and a piece of tubing after removing the cart. But the printer will leak everywhere and possible become damaged. I would do it only at my own RISK!!!! 5 Years is a very long time and probably beyond help at that point.
Jose Rodriguez Hi Jose, I also have 2 printers, 1 won’t print at all (I have a spare Printhead from another filly working printer stripped for spares) would you recommend ghat I replace the print head ? I have had these printers apart fully and know the internals, and my 2nd one printer perfectly Apart from the Red, I think just 1 nozzle is blocked, I have tried putting iso alcohol through the part the cartridge pushes onto, but no luck (and no mess, whew) so I don’t know if it’s the printhead on that also?! The Chip, does that only work to tell you if the cartridge is Full or empty, or does it control where the ink goes ? Any help appreciated as I have 2 useless printers 🖨 🤦🏻♂️ Thank you
thanks for giving the demo but mr jose i wanted to ask that we have bought this printer and it is very very slow in giving the print ...so if you suggest rather buying the one with much more speed would be more reliable than using this one and wasting time!!!
+Marilyn George I cannot comment on speed since I do not have but the two models I show here. I just showed them because they are something cool and not commonly used. Get the latest model and I am sure it will an improvement to these.
@@cheo1949 I'm in agreeance With Jose' on this buy the latest and the best I'ts always worth The better ones will be the most sought after when they age and you want to sell and once again upgrade ....As long as it's not damaged or any parts missing you'll gel back a hefty amount of your casharoo...he-he ...
Thanks Jose for a fantastic video. I recently bought an Epson Picture Mate 500 on eBay, which came with a partially used cartridge pre-loaded and an extra unused one. Both cartridges are non-original compatibles. It seems to print ok apart from one color is missing but the other 5 colors print perfectly when I do a nozzle print check and cleaning cycle. Would replacing the cartridge solve the problem of the missing color? Thanks in advance.
+bravejordy Nope! If you have a channel clogged, the o ly thing that you can do is to get new carts and run a cleaning cycle, test, let the printer rest governing, retest and run another cleaning cycle if needed. Do not run cycle after cycle. It only wastes ink.
Hey Jose, GREAT video. I just bought one of these at Goodwill. It had an ink cartridge in it, but It didn't come with any paper so I cut some 4x6 cardstock and ran that through to test it. It ran it through, but no colors printed on the cardstock. They're only worth about 20 bucks now and I'm already into it for $10. Now I'm debating whether or not to buy the photo paper because it didn't print anything at all on the cardstock, though the cardstock did run through the machine. Any suggestions?
Your printer is just clogged meaning the print head nozzles are completely clogged. You cannot clean it as we normally do with real photo printers. You will go through many ink cartridges trying to clear it. Watch to see how I did it.
helllooo,,, I have a question about this lil printer,, Can I use it without a memory card? bc i read that there's a blue tooth port on it as well and im more intrigued by using that than a memory card,, have you tried that out? (btw i have no experience with using either so rip if i sound insane)
I just asked the same thing. No one replied to your comment? Damn. I can't figure out how to get pictures on it. The ports for memory cards don't look familiar.
Hi if you don't use it the nozzles will dry up just to a nozzle check plus every time you turn the printer of & on it will do ahead clean try to leave it plugged in it will cut down the head cleaning & wasting your ink Plus when you do ahead clean & it's still not right leave if for a while so the ink will soften up the ink & get cleaner a bit better Regards Steve crazy UK London
I love my picturemates and have used them for years. I'm down to one and was printing on it last night and suddenly yellow stopped working. I've run cleaning cycles, changed cartridges, injected with printhead cleaning fluid and waited overnight. Still no yellow. Do you have any more cleaning suggestions, or is it time to retire this one? I have 3 brand new print packs waiting to be used!
If you mean the ink cart? Then yes. If you mean the printer, I would wait till installing a new cartridge. Remember that this type of cart have 6 little internal ink bags and a waste ink pad all built in. You don't get to completely use all the inks. You may have a situation where yellow is actually empty though it indicates otherwise.
In the printer? Seriously though. You really can't refill these carts very well. I would look for something else more modern. This printer is ancient. Someone gave it to me to play with. EBay used to sell compatible 3rd party carts. But the internal printhead clogged very often.
Hi mate, can I use this printer to print out text documents (word, PDF etc)? And is the paper type (material wise) special for this printer or it can print on a normal paper as long as the size is ok?
I picked up one of these, i bought power supply and try nozzle check but it won't print anything and after couple nozzle cleans (white paper out on check) it say ink absorb full. The ink was already installed but old, so it might be dried. I'm scared of opening it... there is not easy access to take out print head and clean externally. From Your experience, is it worth of trying cheap replacement ink and do couple nozzle cleans or just throw it away? I'm not asking if it will work because i know You can't know that but You have more experience, have You revived one of these who don't print anything?
I did but it took for ever and on retrospect I would just buy a new one. The carts also has the waste ink pad built in. It doesn't mucn much fill up. Like I said, not really worth the effort.
Thanks for saying how much effort. I just pulled mine out of the closet and it had a full ink cartridge installed with 2006 exp date! After a few nozzle cleans, I couldn't get anything but a blue to print. Was thinking about a teardown, but since you say it's a pain, I'll probably just go buy something else. Thanks!
Hello, Jose! Thank you for really useful videos. Recently given one with a really stubbornly clogged nozzle. Probably sitting out of attention for a long time. At least the cartridge that was originally in the printer was not completely dry but didn't work well in cleaning cycle. I replaced with new cartridge and by repeating cleaning cycle, I got about half of the nozzles back. Is there a way to do a flushing on systems like this? This is not a tray type and the head is completely enclosed within the machine. So it doesn't look like I can use your socking the nozzle on Windex paper towel method(Or is there a way?). I saw your nozzle flushing video with Windex and Syringe on R340. You mentioned in the video that there are different flushing method for a open door cartridge type printers. I looked for it in you video library but was unsuccessful finding it. Did you ever make flushing tutorial video for open door cartridge types of printer? If you did, I am sorry to bother you but would you let me know where to find it? Also, I would appreciate, any advice on unclogging this printer. I've seen your second video with later model of this printer with color screen. It sounded like you've achieved unclogging by repeating cleaning cycles keep putting in new cartridges. I am on my second cartridge. How many cartridges did you go through to unclog all the channels? Thank you for all your efforts on making these helpful videos.
You can not do that with this printer. If you try it as I have you will damage the ink delivery system. Remember the carts connect internally with 6 ink stems which then feed the print head. The only way to get ANYTHING to flow into the print head is while it is printing with a cart installed. If you try as I have to inject Windex directly into the ink stems you will pop something internally and that is it! Stick a fork in it.
Thank you for fast reply. So, I guess all I can do is keep running cleaning cycle with cartridge installed. I got about half of the nozzles back but yellow is non responsive. Black and orange is about 1/3 back but not much is changing from then on. If I keep running the cleaning cycle, would it eventually clear up? How many cartridges did it take for you to unclog the other printer? I really appreciate you for taking time to give me your sound advice.
Hopefully it will. But let it sit for a whole day between cleaning Cycles and Nozzle checks. Unfortunately you will run through a lot of ink trying to get it firing at 100%
Thank you for your advice. I will try letting it sit for a whole day before doing another cycle. I did cleaning cycle back to back. It makes sense to let it soak for a while before running another cycle. :)
I know this video is old, but there are zero other videos on the 5570. Anyway, I found one for 10 bucks and took a chance. It doesn't print, but I know the cartridge is OK. So, does anyone anywhere show how to disassemble it? I want to try unclogging the nozzles.
Run a cleaning cycle and nozzle check a d let it sit over night and recheck nozzle check. Repeat! It might eventual!y clear it out but these printer require daily use to stay clog free. You need several ink carts!!
Jose Rodriguez sir in our country Pakistan i can't found the refillable cartridges for my printer is there any online company which can online avail for me if you knows then kindly guide me
I have never seen Refillable carts for it. Only original or compatible. Meaning refilled by a third party reseller. My picture mate is dead so I longer have an interest to use it.
my SD card will not load how do I get one to use in this machine I need to get one that I can put my phone SD card into what should I do to get it to work?
+vitusjet I do not have that model so I do not know. Does it show up on the LCD screen? Did it ever work without the error and if so, when the error begin to show up? I tried to google the error but coui!d not find much.
No idea. I am not expert with this printer, I did these videos simply to show that it can do 4x6 color prints, directly from card. Something physical has to be causing the jamming.
Hi Jose! Sorry if my comment won't be connected with printing or something concerning this, but I wanted to ask you if you can help me with this. I've just bought an Epson EH-TW5910, a Video Projector 3LCD Full-HD 3D This is broken, the last time that the lamp has been changed the seller experienced a very misaligned image and colors, even if the lamp is Epson Genuine and new (34 hours used). I bought it for 50€, like 60$ approx. i think, i wanted to buy it and try to repair it, or in the worst case to sell the lamp for 60€... Any suggestions for this type of fault? Tomorrow I'll do the payment and the box will be shipped to me, when i'll take my hands on it i'll be able to give you further informations. If you can help me, or anyway, thank you very much :) P.S. Even if i told you how frustrating are ADS in italy, I disabled ADblock only for your channel :)

It's extremely difficult as you can not use ANY of the common techniques used on common ink jet printer. You end up wasting tons of ink and when you finish a cartridge and fill it's internal waste ink bag it is done.

hi jose please help me i have epson picturemate 500 but the ink pad is expaired now my printer displyed an err t557 inkpad please help me how can i reset inkpad of Picturemate 500 free of cost thanks,
+Shafquat Rasul Khan These printers use self contained carts that have their own Waste ink Pads. Your only option is to replace the old cart with a new one.
+Shafquat Rasul Khan The PictureMate Ink Cartridge ( Cart ) has to be replaced with a new one. There is a little waste ink pad inside the Ink Cartridge. Everything is inside the Cartridge. You have to replace the Cartridge with a newone and everything be fine. You can not reset the waste ink counter on a Picture Mate printers with any application because the waste ink pad lives inside the actual INK CARTRIDGE!!!!
Maybe the very latest models as the old ones like the one I show here can only read from the older CARDS such as Compact Flash and not from modern SD cards. Othwize yes.
I've seen the CANON prints and the EPSON is far better. Plus you can get the carts relatively cheap on EBAY as well as Compatibles. The new models have nice full color LCD screens and can do basic color correction. Plus you can use regular 4x6 Epson or other brands like COSTCO Kirkland Glossy Paper which works great on these. One thing, you can not let them just sit or they will clog and you will be filling up the cart's internal waste ink bag very quick and will render it unusable before you even run out of ink. Everything is self enclosed with each cart. You just add the paper of your choice.
@@cheo1949 I found out that my machine was useless as well. I couldn't recall when the last time I used. And I DIDNT EVEN know about the bit about maintenance without watching your video. In any case, my machine is a goner. I will get rid of it at our special e waste place.
+Jose Rodriguez when I on my printer it write me an error "the internal pad that absorbs ink during head cleaning has become saturated. The genuine EPSON photo cartridge listed above is recommended for replacement." My notebook didn't see picturemate..
+Мария Баранова The carts have their own waste ink pads. Your current cart aparently has reached its limit of waste ink you generated during cleaning cycles. Replace it with a new one and it will not give you that error. Picture Mate printers are usually used as stand alone printers and not meant for connection to a computer.
Jose Rodriguez I agree. I love the picturemate. Printed my brothers graduation pictures on it. Cannon has nothing on this little guy. The quality is flawless. Mine was a couple years older. Like 2004 and runs like a champ!
Then take it to the rear center. By the way you can not read Modern cards on this old printer. This is for those of you who have one that actually works.
Thank you Jose...I will try your method and see if it works. I will keep you informed as to my possible success. Than you for your prompt reply, gratefully appreciated. Celine

There is rear paper loader just like most small printers. You can only load about 15 4x6 sheets at a time.

@@hojoonkim7133did it work lmao
This can use whit my android o USB ?
No you insert a memory card into the printer.
Where can I buy one of these printers online ? Which model is this ?
They are out of production. I think they have new Kodak Picturemate models now.
Hi Joe its Not Compatible With Windows 8 , Do You any idea to work With Windows 8
Thank You
Set comparability to WINDOW 7 or XP other than that I don't know.
I know this video is old, but there are zero other videos on the 5570. Anyway, I found one for 10 bucks and took a chance. It doesn't print, but I know the cartridge is OK. So, does anyone anywhere show how to disassemble it? I want to try unclogging the nozzles.
I used the older ones before and recently got this model....my sd card is not being recognized...any sd cards you recommend?
My model only works with older cards
are the pictures waterproof?
+Lady Cheese Yes they are.
I just bought one just like that it didn’t come with a cord so I was wondering if anyone new what kind of power cord I need to buy thx
How to restore ink cartridge
How can I print out from my iPhone ? I can’t take out my memory card
This is from 2004. It may not work with phones.
By WiFI?
DOES IT ALSO PRINT THROUGH SD CARD TO PRINT
Only the newer models. Older ones like mine print from USB or compact flash
What is a compact flash?
Hello sir i have an Epson picture mate 100 it's nozels check only print two colors what should i do for it?
Run a cleaning cycle and nozzle check a d let it sit over night and recheck nozzle check. Repeat! It might eventual!y clear it out but these printer require daily use to stay clog free. You need several ink carts!!
Jose Rodriguez sir in our country Pakistan i can't found the refillable cartridges for my printer is there any online company which can online avail for me if you knows then kindly guide me
AF far as I know the picture mate does not have refillable carts. I would suggest EBay and look for third party carts.
Sir Jose Rodriguez thanks for your guidance i hear before that this model can run refillable cartridges is that true or not?
I have never seen Refillable carts for it. Only original or compatible. Meaning refilled by a third party reseller. My picture mate is dead so I longer have an interest to use it.
Where is the battery?
Probably on the mother board
my SD card will not load how do I get one to use in this machine I need to get one that I can put my phone SD card into what should I do to get it to work?
It seems to only like certain grades of Compact Flash cards and SD cards. The newer Picture Mates. Due to newer and different firmware.
Hello. Epson Picture Mate 500 - Error: 0x2 ? What is it ? Please
+vitusjet I do not have that model so I do not know. Does it show up on the LCD screen? Did it ever work without the error and if so, when the error begin to show up?
I tried to google the error but coui!d not find much.
do you know where to buy ink for picturemate?? i'm from Mx
I got mine on Amazon the cartridge and100 photo sheets.
For 28.00
I can’t get mine to print pic or connect to anything
MY printer says part is jammed in the printer but there is no paper, how do I fix this?
I've just bought an Epson EH-TW5910, a Video Projector 3LCD Full-HD 3D
This is broken, the last time that the lamp has been changed the seller experienced a very misaligned image and colors, even if the lamp is Epson Genuine and new (34 hours used).
If you can help me, or anyway, thank you very much :)
P.S.
Even if i told you how frustrating are ADS in italy, I disabled ADblock only for your channel :)
+ADCSFXworks Printing Center Wow! Sorry man but I have no experience with anything like that! Maybe you should post it to a site like Dpreview. They have MANY different forums, each about a specific photographic subject. They should be able to help you more than I.Take carejoe
Jose where could I find the IP address on this printer. or the newer model ?
+Mayra Rodriquez I don't think you can use this with WiFi. I just use it as a stand alone not connected to any computer.
How do I unclog it?
It's extremely difficult as you can not use ANY of the common techniques used on common ink jet printer. You end up wasting tons of ink and when you finish a cartridge and fill it's internal waste ink bag it is done.
PLEASE I HAVE JUST BOUGHT THE SAME PRINTER LIKE YOURS SO HOW DO I KNOW IF THE PRINTER ON IT IS FINISH OR NOT AND WHAT TYPE OF CHEAPER PHOTO PRINTER VAN I GET FOR IT AND IS THERE ANY ANNUAL SERVICE THAT IT NEEDS AS I BOUGHT MINE AS SECOND HAND HAND
You mean cheaper carts?? No there is nothing you can do if it is second hand.
hi,i recently bought this machine but as I insert my memory card, the screen frozen, and I can’t press the buttons, could you please reply me if anyone has any ideas on this 😭😭
hi sir how would i be able to use it with a computer since i am layouting photos through photoshop and i want to print it right after but it always shows that printer is in error state and it wont continue to print...thanx
+jay von del rosario The Picture mate is meant for printing directly from memory cards not the computer.
Mine works with the computer!!
@@annie8323 how’d you make it work ?
It comes with a CD with software for your computer @@alejandro298
Can use my laptop
No
hi, can i any guide how can i install its driver on windows 8 64 bit....i am unable to find driver online??
A driver for what:????
thankyou jose, i found it ...actually i was asking for picturemate 500 printer driver compatible with windows 8
OH OK!
Hey I have this printer but I have an iPhone and I have no idea how to use it 😩😩
This printer does not have WiFi or anything modern about it. It only operated via Compact Flash and SD Cards and of course via USB from your PC! Sorry No Mac
+Jose Rodriguez oh okay thanks a lot
If you love these types of printers I think the newer models allow to do everything as they are really meant to be portable party and even printers.
hi jose please help me i have epson picturemate 500 but the ink pad is expaired now my printer displyed an err t557 inkpad please help me how can i reset inkpad of Picturemate 500 free of cost thanks,
+Shafquat Rasul Khan These printers use self contained carts that have their own Waste ink Pads. Your only option is to replace the old cart with a new one.
+Jose Rodriguez what is carts
+Shafquat Rasul Khan can i reset the counters with windows applications ?
+Shafquat Rasul Khan The PictureMate Ink Cartridge ( Cart ) has to be replaced with a new one. There is a little waste ink pad inside the Ink Cartridge. Everything is inside the Cartridge. You have to replace the Cartridge with a newone and everything be fine. You can not reset the waste ink counter on a Picture Mate printers with any application because the waste ink pad lives inside the actual INK CARTRIDGE!!!!
+Jose Rodriguez thanks jose
shame they don't make these anymore
is this good for night club style printouts?
Maybe the very latest models as the old ones like the one I show here can only read from the older CARDS such as Compact Flash and not from modern SD cards. Othwize yes.
Thanks much. I'm looking for a good one for night club pictures now. I'm thinking epson or Canon
Hell yea. Im gonna do a couple more reviews. I like epson definitely. Thanks for the suggestion sir.
No problem. Take care.
hi does anyone know how to clear error 0002
Quick Google search immediate yielded this.

Hi! Where can I find the ink? My mom got this printer at a yard sale and not sure where I can buy the right ink. Any suggestions?
Also not sure if it’s even usable. No idea how long it’s been sitting. The cartridge has exp date of 11.2006. It’s now 2019. Is it worth keeping?
You can find them on EBAY. But once these printers clog they are almost impossible to unclog. They are a total crap shoot.
So the one that I have that is well over 5 years old since its last use is undoubtedly useless.
They do clog readily and must be pretty much constantly used.
@@cheo1949 I found out that my machine was useless as well. I couldn't recall when the last time I used. And I DIDNT EVEN know about the bit about maintenance without watching your video. In any case, my machine is a goner. I will get rid of it at our special e waste place.
Hi! I have a problem with my picture mate, can U help me, please??)))THNKS
+Мария Баранова Well, so what's the problem you are having?
+Jose Rodriguez when I on my printer it write me an error "the internal pad that absorbs ink during head cleaning has become saturated. The genuine EPSON photo cartridge listed above is recommended for replacement." My notebook didn't see picturemate..
+Мария Баранова The carts have their own waste ink pads. Your current cart aparently has reached its limit of waste ink you generated during cleaning cycles. Replace it with a new one and it will not give you that error.
Picture Mate printers are usually used as stand alone printers and not meant for connection to a computer.
they gave this thing to my dad they never used it .... from the comments it looks like the machine sucks:(
It looks cool hopefully it works though
It only "sucks" when people let it sit for months to years on end! Not the little printer's fault. But instead it is totally the user's
Jose Rodriguez I agree. I love the picturemate. Printed my brothers graduation pictures on it. Cannon has nothing on this little guy. The quality is flawless. Mine was a couple years older. Like 2004 and runs like a champ!
hi
+asim khaliq Yes?
not helpfull because i tu much talking what do not need . MIne not reading card and needed information about it.
Then take it to the rear center. By the way you can not read Modern cards on this old printer. This is for those of you who have one that actually works.
