    IMy trusted Epson1400 died a few days ago. I’d been coaxing it along for a couple of years but, alas, it finally passed beyond help. Today my new Epson XP-15000 arrived. I sat down, at my desk (home - I’m retired) In front of me I had my iMac, iPad and the new printer. I stepped through the setup process using your video - and it went great! Thanks for the great help.

      Those 1400s and Artisan 1430s were truly some great printers. I’m glad the video was helpful. Have a nice Thanksgiving!

    Just bought my second xp15000, and installed a CISS ink system (after “upgrading” to older firmware). This printer will NEVER be connected to wi-fi or network connection. Epson will not take away my right to use third party ink or ink systems! Plus it’s a great large format photo printer. Great video and overview.

    Question: how do you close the paper tray? Is there a button or do you just push it in?

    • @evandrinks
      @evandrinks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For the paper cassette, you can push it in. For the output tray, you can push the button with the circling arrows, or gently push it in. Great question!

    Can this printer be used for just regular office prints as well on regular print paper? Also is there a color profile that you use?

    • @evandrinks
      @evandrinks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it can print on plain paper for office use. I use the built in profiles in the Epson printer driver.

      @@evandrinks Always print from Photoshop, and downgrade your firmware and buy a chipless key.

    Would have been nice if you bypassed the computer install and shown how the printer prints.

    I can’t print rear end feed. What am I doing wrong? I insert paper but when I print it kept asking me to use the cassette. I don’t understand.

    • @evandrinks
      @evandrinks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are printing from your computer, then make sure that “Rear Feed” or “Rear Feed Borderless” is selected. If you are using plain paper in the rear feeder then it might request the use of the cassette. If you are printing from an Apple iPhone, iTouch, or iPad, then make sure to select the paper type on the printer when inserting the paper. Then, on your phone you should be able to find the paper choice in the “options” area of the Apple AirPrint driver. If your printer is under warranty, then you can also call Epson for assistance. Epson America’s phone number for wide format printers is (562) 276-7282. Have a great rest of your day!

    I need to buy ink cartridges. What is the name on the cartridge I use?

    • @evandrinks
      @evandrinks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you bought the printer in the USA or Canada, then it will use Epson 312 or 312XL Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow, and 314XL for the red and gray.

    Can you use transfer paper

    • @evandrinks
      @evandrinks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not an expert in dye sublimation printing, but if you use dye sublimation ink it might work. For dye sublimation I would highly recommend the Epson SureColor F170. Many people that I have spoken to like that printer a lot. That printer is a dye sublimation printer and includes Epson dye sublimation ink. It is also cheaper to run than other dye sublimation printers because it uses the Epson EcoTank ink design. Have a great rest of your day!
