I have been doing basic scrapbooking for close to 20 years. I have always ordered all kinds of 4x6 photos for all the reasons you mentioned. I purchased this printer this week after watching your video and now awaiting its delivery by Amazon this evening. 😊
Five years ago, I purchased the Canon Selphy and was not happy with their photo paper and print quality. I immediately purchased the Epson PM-400 and printed several photos with each printer to do my own side-by-side comparison. The quality of the PM-400 prints was so much better (color and sharpness) in each of the photos, so I immediately packed up the Selphy and returned it. Over the years, I've gifted four of these great little printers to my daughters and daughter-in-law. We all love it!
Ohhhh someday I’ll get this printer! For now I’m pretty happy with my Selphy! One tip I have for saving is that 3/4 photos are a very nice size on your scrapbook page and you get two photos on a paper so you save a little money!
@@JaymaMalme I’m still basking in the print at home stage. 😂 I think the selfie is a good alternative if you were on a budget and you just kind of want to see if you will enjoy printing at home… You can always upgrade later.
Hi Jayma. I got a Selphy for Christmas 2016, and was used to printing with my large Epson printer. The quality was terrible, so I exchanged it for the PM-400. It’s been such a workhorse, and the Epson quality cannot be beat! When this printer dies, I’ll be ordering another one the same day! I absolutely love it! I use the Epson app to print my photos with ease, since it already knows my settings, and I can print collages, and print with or without a border, using the Creative Print that’s included in the app. I use WiFi, so I don’t need to attach it to anything else, besides plugging it into the outlet. This was a great video to help walk people through, because I know how intimidating it can be at first. It’s such an easy printer to use, once you play with it. Thank you again. 😊
I am so glad you are loving it so much!! And that you found a great app. I have tried the creative print app a couple different times and never like it when I do. But if I’m remembering correctly I think the main reason was that you have to be connected to your printer while you use it which I rarely am. Or maybe I’m thinking of a different one. I will try it again because someone else mentioned it too. But I am so used to my other app I am not sure I can switch 😂 At the very least I can mention this one in a video sometime!
Oh, I understand what you mean. You do have to print if you use the Creative Print, but I love the choices they provide for different size collages. I also use Pic Stitch (my favorite), and Pic Frame. I print my photos on the app itself, instead of going through all of the steps through other apps, since it’s the app made for Epson, and it will print thirty photos at a time. It also saves your settings. Your process works for you, though. That’s always a good thing to find something that works easy for you, doesn’t it? Why fix something that isn’t broken. 😂
So true! But I also love finding new ways of doing things if they might work better so I will definitely check it out next time I’m connected to my printer!
Your timing is perfect!! I bought this printer just before shoulder surgery & it has been sitting in a corner unopened. I am not quite ready to open the box but I will be much more prepared after watching your video! This was incredibly helpful & will be rewatched several times as I get back to scrapbooking! Thank you for another great video!!
I love this printer! I purchased it a couple of years ago and best investment for my scrapbooking. I really enjoy the flexibility of printing the size photos I need as I create my pages.
I had to chuckle when you started this video. I got an Epson 400 for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago, and because I didn’t get it all set up right away, (I was chicken to do it on my own) my husband returned it. A few months later I really wanted it, so he got it for me again, and helped me get it going. I have an app on my IPhone that seems way simpler than the way you printed-and it edits great!
Haha, i have heard from others who never opened theirs either, so you’re not alone. I am glad you found an app you like! I have tried the epson app and others and just prefer mine so that’s what I keep using. The biggest hangup for me with the epson app, at least last I tried it, is that you had to be connected to the printer to use it. I often am not so that didn’t work for me. But as long as you have a way that works for you that is great and keep at it!! 💗

So informative! Thank you for the explanation about the proper print ratio...I never knew that! I stopped the video to play with a photo or two and came back to finish. I am definitely adding this to my Christmas list since my husband always asks if there's anything I want. 😉
I totally agree with you on the quality of the prints. Before I got mine, I sent mine out to a few different professional printers, and now when I look at those albums I'm crushed to see the photos have gone all dark over the years. The quality of the prints I get from my PM400 is so good, and it's game changing to be able to edit and size as needed.
Definitely!! The only place I like the prints anymore is Persnickety Prints, they are great quality! But you have to order them online so if you need them quick it’s not ideal. But that’s the only place I order anymore if I need a bunch.
I watched the video you did on the Epson printer Photo Printing. My hubby bought it for my Birthday last month. Amazon had it on sale! It’s the best printer. So easy to use 🤗
@SentimentalScrapper at one point it was $199. I have seen it that low only once in 3 yrs. I got it 2 weeks ago at $249 which I feel is decent. You just never know.
I got one a few months ago before traveling out of the country. So it literally sat in the box unopened for a month or more. I took it still in the box to a crop and I loved it!!! I use it several times a week now!! It is a game changers! I guess the only thing I would add is how to delete a character. When adding letters, you put the cursor on the large back arrow button and press OK. Then it will go back and delete the last character you typed. It took me about 40 minutes to find out how to do this. I ended up having to google it because I couldn't find in the instructions. Ugggh!
Absolutely love the Epson PM 400. Been using it for years. There is an app to download called Print to Size. One time charge (.99) back then. That app is so much easier to use when printing pics with the Epson PM. You can print any size you want up to 5x7.
I sometimes use that app too! Especially if I print a lot on a larger photo. For some reason my favorite is still PicFrame (shared a tutorial on day 1).
Thank you for this video. For years I used Groovebook (was on Sharktank) but they were first bought out, then discontinued. Since then I’ve been printing here and there, never happy with the price/quality ratio. Now after watching your video and seeing how easy it is I will give home printing with this printer a try (I hope it can handle the volume :-).
Couple of questions! How do you print with a border with picture mate? Do you always adjust everything picture in edit to reflect the proper ratio before printing?
Hi Wendy! I use an app if I want to add a border (but normally I don’t). My day 1 video shows a tutorial for the app I use. Yes, I do always edit and adjust every picture. But it gets to be really fast once you get used to it. 😁
I absolutely love my PM-400. I love being able to print on demand and I wasted a lot of prints when I used to try to order in advance without knowing what size I wanted. I did not like the quality a lot of the time either. The quality on my PM-400 is awesome. I use the Epson Premium Semi-Gloss paper. Here’s the link to it on Amazon. I didn’t find it in stock anywhere locally so online is probably your best bet. amzn.to/4e3bkp7
If you need photo paper too, I have all the links in the description of this video. You can click “see more” under the title of this video to expand the description and see everything.
Walmart, Best Buy too. Still have to order online but uou can compare prices.
I brought PM 400 from USA, but in India getting cartridge is highly impossible, hence wanted to sell. pls let me know if anyone wants with less prize.
Bummer!
Too many buttons to push lol 18:41
Haha...it's only the one time you have to do it! Once you set up the wifi it pretty much all stays the same.
@@JaymaMalme that’s good thanks for telling me
I took mine to the beach and on a cruise. I have it set to direct print. It makes it a lot easier to use when traveling.
@@MaryJohnson-jd5wpyes I can see that! It was annoying to have to switch the wifi at my friend’s house then it didn’t remember mine and I had to switch it back again! I think next time I travel I will bring a cord!
@@JaymaMalme
It’s not through the cord, it’s in the settings. After it’s set to direct print, when you print from your iPhone, you go to WiFi settings and your printer will be one that comes up. You select that one and print as if that’s your WiFi. I printed like that out in the middle of the ocean and it worked great every time. I also have my canon selphy and my canon selphy square set up that way.
