AWESOME is not good enough for the maintenance and upkeep you have done with this car! The old cars last forever with upkeep, some cars are over a 100 years old and mouth watering, I love this, I have no idea if you would ever sell it, but never mind. It is a great family heirloom! BEAUTIFUL.
We are probably brothers from other Mothers by the looks of your 1975 picture. My parents purchased a CDV in 1975 also. I was 9. The year prior we moved into a rather large new three story home all done up in glorious earth tones with hints of avocado gracing the Spanish revival decor. Lots of heavy carved wood and leather surfaces with nails. The CDV was dark green with green and white plaid interior. I could disappear when wearing my plaid pants. Mom and Dad were 28 years old, stylish and beautiful. I miss them.
Gorgeous car. Man I miss these cars. I drove a new 74 Olds 98 in 74 and a new 76 Olds Toronado in 76. I never drove the Cadillac. This car looks showroom new.
I love that landau roof. Those were so popular in the seventies. People these days sometimes assume that the idea behind vinyl roofs was to make the roof look like a convertible, but you can see here that the idea was to make it look like the roof was upholstered in leather.
Bello bello bello 😄😁😃😀🥰, thanks for showing, .my was dark blue, Same Year, enjoy driving for few years, every time you use brake to small lights come on,on top of the inside roof, 😂 git a kick out of that..i was in my 20s, my dad said you are like your grandfather, love Big cars, old people's car's, they have Toyotas 😁,, OR VW..my Cadillac, had all POWER seat's, P. windows ECT., Smooth ride, gas was cheaper Way cheaper...i travel , across Florida, from key west to Tallahassee panama city , AND putting over 200 thousand miles... NEVER had any serious mechanical issues..i miss it.finally i give away to my baby brother... after that, don't recall, What even happen ☹️, to caddy... memory Lane 🙏. Glad for you still got your caddy.and still enjoy.driving..👍 BLESSINGS.doug.
My grandparents had a 1975 Coupe DeVille, and I would sit between them on the front center armrest... the eighties were a different time! A lot of fond memories in that car.
I love your car and you have clearly been fastidious in caring for this vehicle. While there is plenty of debate on whether these cars were a high or low water mark for Detroit, there is no question that we will never experience the sheer size and opulence of these luxury barges ever again. This was an era when driving a Cadillac was the envy of most Americans.
Doug, you got class baby! In 1975 they came out with the rectangular headlights and it fit the style perfectly. One of best looking Caddys ever, 75 and 76. Didn't like what they did in 1977 with the roofline.
Yes..I remember when they were new. You could also look at the headlight housing on the 1974 Cadillacs - the last year of the round headlights - and the way they were housed in their square holdings you could tell what was coming the next year. Especially when it was around that time that GM was hinting they were going to start putting square headlights on their future model cars.
I drove a 1973 Coupe dé Ville for 9 years and loved it. Always liked the 1975 very much as well. It has a nicer grill than the 1976. Great to see and hear all the things you have done with it.
Mid 70's Cadillacs were the best looking ever. With the possible exception of the 67's. These cars are a great value because although most people love the look, their afraid of the size and gas milage. I say, great ! Because I'll still drive them. Oh they are beautiful !!!
I had and loved this very car. I have ordered the same Cadillac Hood Ornament for each Cadillac I have owned since then including my CTX. Mine actually had Greek Key Ornamental Wood Trim on the doors.
Hey Doug, you have a master piece. Great job!👍 thanks for sharing experience with us. Enjoy your drive. God Bless You Always. Dennis Petrucci from Florida 👍👌🙏🌴🏁🏁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
man, a caddy like that with some modern (like from 95 fleetwood lt1 and up) tech under the hood would be the build of the century ❤️ if i had the money 😩
7/30/75 that is the Day that James R Hoffa left home to meet former associates for a sitdown brunch in suburban metro Detroit as far as anyone knows he never met his associates he spoke briefly with his wife that he arrived at the Restaurant but know Showed he was going to wait a little longer & make another call then Make the return trip home that was the last time he spoke to her or anyone else he vanished forever !!!!!!!!!?????
A beautiful "REAL" CADILLAC. I liked the 1977-1981. God help the HT4100. The Brougham endured to 1992...the LT1 Corvette engine made the car like the 1971-1976
Nice color combo. My father had one too in sky blue and white. He had the RR grille put on it as well as the crest emblem and Cadillac spoke hubcaps. Beautiful car, but I still have nightmares about learning to drive in it. For a small teen the car was like driving the Queen Mary. Mushy power steering/brakes, and that wallow if you hit the brakes too hard.
Had one in 1987, when in school at Navy sonar the school some one stole the wire wheel from it. I was furious Very cool car. Compared to a early Lexus ls400 I would hear road and tire noise. The Lexus when sealed up all windows up I DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING. NIGHT AND DAY
You should modify that 500 c.i. V8 since, in CA, vehicles 1975 and older are exempt from emissions. Just change the carb, throw some high flow heads on and bump up compression and a big cam and you should easily be pushing over 400hp....I believe these were originally choked down to only 190 horsepower.
hello. where do you get parts like weather stripping and cruise control ?because those are very specific parts and i have no idea where to get parts like that. thank you
Hey Doug, I also have a 1975 Coupe DeVille (red) that has been recently repainted, had body work done (rust repair), and I installed new lowered suspension. However I've been considering rebuilding the engine...if you don't mind me asking, how much did the engine rebuild cost? Thanks!
You got taken to the cleaners on the Rebuild....but if you don't have auto mechanical skills....the sharks come after you(or anyone). From time to time,Pick N Pull will get the 74s,75s,76s, and they get picked clean.
You just plug those ports on the carb up, it wasnt all that god of a system anyway it injects air in the manifolds and has an EGR recirculation sytem thats about it

I think we can do without those "curb alerts" protruding off the car, and while I fully understand why the hood ornament was added, it would appear more natural to the design, if the original badging were removed from the front, center of the hood, so the ornamentation wouldn't look so busy and redundant. Also, I know it's a matter of personal taste, but I've never really liked those "specialty" badges added to the grill. There, you have my input on how to improve the appearance, while adding a "less is more" distinctive element. I like my Cadillacs dignified & refined, so as to cast a more imposing presence.
Why is it that all these lovely american auto manufacturers have trouble lining up side trim bright work? I certainly would not accept this common fault on a new car! Especially as these trims are designed to emphasise smooth flowing lines.
Like the guy said, the selling dealer added extra ornaments to the car that actually belong on a Eldorado. Why they did this, who knows, maybe the current owners Father requested it.
The crest that circles your cadillac emblem BELONGS THERE. Your belief of it only goes on the eldorado is FALSE. The crest signifies it has the fleetwood interior couch design per the seats and inner door lining. It has the fleetwood coach interior with the fisher body. And if some eldorado happens to have the crest its simply because it also has the fleetwood interior.. My Dads 78 cadilac sedan devile did not have the crest because it didnt have the fleetwood interior which is more padded and , but my 79 cadillac deville had the crest because it had split bench seats and the fancier interior. Your car has the fleetwood interior, so your crest isnt some placibo but goes with that car . Also, you can remove that emissions off of that car and it has nothing to do with that rochestor quadra jet carburetor and extra vacuum lines are to just be plugged off

صناعه فخمه سهلة القياده مريحه خاصة المسافات الطويله والسفر ..تكنولوجيا السبعينات ...قمة الروعه ..أصحاب ذوق عالي اللي صمم هكذا صناعه..
Thanks for sharing your pride & joy. Shes beautiful.
I love the color yellow, love Cadillacs. Yours is beautiful !
The chocolate brown top and interior are outstanding
Gorgeous car! Very nice restoration. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful car, it's a wonderful air loom.
75 is one of my favorite yrs of a Coupe Deville. She's beautiful 👍
Wow when in grade school our office secretary had same car but with a white top that I always admired at recess.

Wasn’t the plaid interior for a Calais? The CDC had brocade as standard, or striped velour for the d’elegance option or leather.
Gorgeous car. Man I miss these cars. I drove a new 74 Olds 98 in 74 and a new 76 Olds Toronado in 76. I never drove the Cadillac. This car looks showroom new.
Beautiful time capsule.
I love that landau roof. Those were so popular in the seventies. People these days sometimes assume that the idea behind vinyl roofs was to make the roof look like a convertible, but you can see here that the idea was to make it look like the roof was upholstered in leather.

Beautiful car---1974-1978 are my fav. years---when a caddy was a caddy :-))))))
Well, sort of. A more memorable model would be the big iconic finned, 1959. JMHO anyways.
The car looks great!! Very noble of you to restore to original condition to save this beautiful car!!! and keep it road worthy!!!
Amen to that!
Awesome Cadillac, awesome history behind the Cadillac, thanks for sharing.
Ok
I love your car and you have clearly been fastidious in caring for this vehicle. Such a beautiful car.
I appreciate that you explained about searching the country for restoration parts, particularly mechanical parts. A handsome car.
Beutiful car. You did a lot to it,but i think it deserves it. And over that many years,it is a nice hobby job to constantly improve it

What a Beautiful Car!!!
Great! Brings back memories. I too was the youngest and the one that sat in middle. King of the ROAD!

Magnificent car. I had a ‘76 in silver with a black vinyl top. Nothing like them!
Very nice car, aesthetically and sentimentally! Thanks for sharing!
My stepfather had this car in 1975, I drove this coupe to my prom. Fact I drove this car everywhere.
I drove a 1973 Coupe dé Ville for 9 years and loved it.
Always liked the 1975 very much as well. It has a nicer grill than the 1976.
Great to see and hear all the things you have done with it.
My dad had one of these in 1985 when I got my drivers permit. Pretty cool car to learn to drive in.
Mid 70's Cadillacs were the best looking ever. With the possible exception of the 67's. These cars are a great value because although most people love the look, their afraid of the size and gas milage.
I say, great ! Because I'll still drive them.
Oh they are beautiful !!!
Very Nice Sir. You have somewhat rebuilt her. Years of pleasure left. Thanks for sharing your experience. Elmer
Nice Cadillac, great picture of you next to the Cadillac.
Beautiful car 👍
I had and loved this very car. I have ordered the same Cadillac Hood Ornament for each Cadillac I have owned since then including my CTX. Mine actually had Greek Key Ornamental Wood Trim on the doors.
That's a gem of a car.

Nice work, the cracks center dash and control on door panels are sooo typical lol
Beautiful car bud!, amazing shape!, my dad owned a ton of Cadillac’s back in the day!👍
Wow this car brings back memories
My dad bought one in 1976 and it was the same color but the roof and interior was black. I was 12 years old
Beautiful car! Magnificent machine!
man, a caddy like that with some modern (like from 95 fleetwood lt1 and up) tech under the hood would be the build of the century ❤️
if i had the money 😩
Very nice! Wow, a ton of money invested!
Wow Purchased on July 30 , Also my Birthday . If only I could afford it . I've owned two Cadillac's in my lifetime . A 1972 Sedan and a 1978 Sedan .
Beautiful ride man!
Beautiful car sir.

Standart of the world
Beautiful car, you put a fortune into it I bet
Awesome! Great Story!

Just snapped a pic of one just like this over in North Sac.
My Google curiosity brought me here.
NIGHT AND DAY
I have a 1976 Fleetwood. I would be very interested in knowing where in Fort Lauderdale you purchased the rubber bumper strips. Thank you.
Love yellow!
A real beauty . God bless.

Beautiful
How to take sentimental journey. In style.
My parents had the same car new in 75. I would have loved to inherit it but my brother got it first and later gave it away to an Elvis impersonator.
hello. where do you get parts like weather stripping and cruise control ?because those are very specific parts and i have no idea where to get parts like that. thank you
Was this beauty used to pull that top of the line airstream?
A real Caddy
It's a beautiful car, a labor of love, my hat is off to you....
.... But curb feelers? Aw, c'mon man! 😏
Is she for sale?
Wow!!! I mean wow!!!! Dear Santa.........!
Congrats! Wonderful work. 1 question... is this smog exempt? If not was it hard to pass? I have a 73 Fleetwood Brougham
How much did they charge for cup holders and power source for you?
Just watched a video of a ‘92 FW Brougham. Doesn’t look much different than this. Maybe that was good...17 years of styling consistency.
So it was called "Bombay yellow", i had a '73 Oldsmobile 98 2door coupe with the same color.
Hey Doug,
I also have a 1975 Coupe DeVille (red) that has been recently repainted, had body work done (rust repair), and I installed new lowered suspension. However I've been considering rebuilding the engine...if you don't mind me asking, how much did the engine rebuild cost?
Thanks!
Spencer Poulos Spencer, back in 2004 the rebuild cost me just over $4000 and that was without needing new pistons.
You got taken to the cleaners on the Rebuild....but if you don't have auto mechanical skills....the sharks come after you(or anyone). From time to time,Pick N Pull will get the 74s,75s,76s, and they get picked clean.
I have drove a Cadillac fleetwood

If people would buy a sunshade for their windshield, it would save those dash pads.?
How do we contact you about a car?
LoL. I fucking love it!!!😊
I bet your family was rich when they got this car.
Why is it that all these lovely american auto manufacturers have trouble lining up side trim bright work?
I certainly would not accept this common fault on a new car!
Especially as these trims are designed to emphasise smooth flowing lines.
And shit taillight assemblies, no chrome, not funny on a caddy!
Nice car, but why “two” Cadillac crests on the front? Unnecessary duplication!
Like the guy said, the selling dealer added extra ornaments to the car that actually belong on a Eldorado. Why they did this, who knows, maybe the current owners Father requested it.
Oh sorry you answered that later
The crest that circles your cadillac emblem BELONGS THERE. Your belief of it only goes on the eldorado is FALSE. love it!!!....but the curb feelers are ghetto...look dumb to me.....but thats fine....if you like them
It's Bombay beige
Beautiful car but I think the 1971 to 1972 Buick Electra coupe looks better.
