Atmospheric captivating scenery with some great riding! I haven't been up there for many years. Last time I came down off the back of Stob Dearg at the top of Buchaille Etive Mòr and got into a few sticky situations where we just made it down and no more. Oh and that wasn't on bikes either, well done guys!
Outstanding riding in that Gnar and the views, wow. It's amazing you all can ride in so much mudd/water... In the states (east coast) its very much frowned on to ride in wet conditions(some trails outright close) due to the damage and erosion, etc that's occurs when riding mudd/puddles. Would love to get more glimpses of your riding(Pierce wears the Gopro). Thanks for sharing such epic shredding Vids
Thank you😊 It trails are very much designed with drainage in mind, or trail centre especially. We genuinely would get very little riding done if we couldn’t ride in the wet.
I'm watching this very early morning, absolutely jealous but seriously impressed. We have walked this route and now you've reminded me just how good Scotland's Mountains can be. This route must go down as one of your best, filming is very good and the return ride Brilliant. When you did the lower path did you go right round and back between the 2 Buckles. I'm not doing spellings. Modern Bikes are really capable but take the credit you deserve, you've still got to stay on and control the descent. Top effort.
Nice to hear from someone who has experience on this mountain👍 The lower descent was down the shoulder from the lowest point, I believe that is the only official path to take. I will take some credit of course 😜 but I couldn’t do this day on 26 inch mtb from only a few years ago.
@@McTrailRider Being mainly a Walker this hill is a Gem, I don't really tell anyone that though. Glencoe is full of classic and quiet stuff to do if you search them out. When I'm watching your videos I find if it looks steep it really is steep, if you've already been there You know it's steep. Thanks again for the reminder of what I'm currently missing 👍you will have to lose the Tache once it causes drag on the descent 🚴♂️ .

Really enjoyed this, it's the first one of ypurs I've seen. It reminds me of riding the Lairig Ghru many, many years ago. Fully rigid Zaskar, v-brakes, 26" wheels and no droppers...it's fair to say we walked quite a bit.

Your right, I believe the hills as a collective are know as the Buachaille Etive Beag, so went with that to keep it simple. It seems that more often than not, there are multiple peaks that make for a single collectively named mountain. Stunning place either way 😍
McTrail Rider exactly- Buachaille Etive Mor is the same. It has 2 Munro peaks: Stob Dearg ( the famous pointy one) and Stob Na Broige connected by a nice wide ridge. I like my MTBing and am also trying to bag the Munros - by foot! No way I’m dragging a bike up those hills so kudos to you. I prefer the likes of BikePark Wales etc
Absolutely stunning place! I have visited Scotland twice in the past year and a half and hope to make many more trips back. I was in that area this last trip too. Just wow! Would love to hit these trails both on the bike and on the feet. Cheers!
It’s a very popular spot at Glen Coe, and for good reason. I’d recommend walking this one first to see what you think first as it’s very steep on the bike😬

Bringing our emtbs, and been looking for some loops to ride with great scenery in the area, obviously will head along to the trail centres, but trying to find some good loops to do to see some scenery. Been looking on kamoot and even the o/s maps, but finding it hard to find something. Any ideas/pointers? Cheers

So we have three days in Scotland before the World Cup. Where would you ride within relatively close proximity to Fort William (we've done Torridon etc - probably a bit too far perhaps). We are bringing ebikes and can cover some distance. Thank for any recommendations!
There’s plenty of options, but I don’t know your ability. Glen Coe ski resort would be a good shout, the red is great but the black is very full on. The Ciaran path above Kinlochleven is also excellent for an ebike. Still quite a big day. Finally, Laggan Wolftrax trail centre is one of the best 👍

Ps - ability; I don't need the double black at Glencoe! One of the few descents I think really deserves a downhill bike. But we've ridden all over, Morzine to La Thuile to Whistler to Spain. But my ability is less than it used to be! Need bike time..

Hi. I am going to get a new helmet and was wondering if the giro switchblade is good? I ride downhill trails but usually pedal not take the uplift. I also do trail riding but with gnarlier decents when possible. Thanks
A good bit on the small to medium sized hits, but you need your limbs more after that. The problem on this day was the steepness and size of the steps.

I love Glen Etive. It’s so quiet and peaceful compared to Glen Coe. Plus in autumn 🍂 amazing spot to watch deers, it’s loads of them 🦌🦌🦌

Kinlochleven is probably your best bet for anything outside of a trail centre in that area 👍

29” roll over capabilities has to have had a great help on that terrain compared to 26”
The bigger wheels do make a big difference, equally the newer geometry helps massively too. Overall, much easier to do stuff like this nowadays👍

Hi. I am going to get a new helmet and was wondering if the giro switchblade is good? I ride downhill trails but usually pedal not take the uplift. I also do trail riding but with gnarlier decents when possible. Thanks
The Switchblade would definitely suit what you have described. It can be a bit hot over 20 degrees though.

How much does the suspension absorb ,
A good bit on the small to medium sized hits, but you need your limbs more after that. The problem on this day was the steepness and size of the steps.

GoPro Hero 9 nowadays, the light was perfect on the way down which helped a lot.
