Instead of Ctrl+C and Ctrl+Alt+V just use Ctrl+D to Duplicate. ;-)
    Nice Video Mike.

I thought the same until I understood why he did it - and his way is better. Ctrl+D places it on top of all the objects in current layer only. When you want work with different layers and paste the object in a different layer while keeping the same relative location, then first Copy (Ctrl+C) and then Paste in Place (Ctrl+Alt+V).

It's great to see Inkscape getting some love with your clear and concise presentations. Even as a veteran user, there is always something new to learn by watching someone else attack a project.
I would love to see you have a go at unraveling the mysteries of the dockable dialog system. I've never had the patience to complete figure it out and can't find proper documentation that makes sense. Dare I say it's almost too configurable and hard to get it just the way you want and KEEP it that way. Either way, keep the inkscape tutorials coming!

Thanks. I am self taught on Inkscape, enough to do things I need to do, but I realize how much more I can do if I knew how.
    Looking forward to these tutorials.

Much better, your wide shot. Just you. That's all you need, that's all we want. You're good at this stuff, no point in stinking it up with anything else. Thank you.

    Great video.
Every time when you move your mouse pointer, your tell us where is it and hold it for a second, which allows us to see what you are doing, and if we want to pause video, we can. Also, the screen you are working on video is very sharp it look like my own screen. So we can follow you through out tutorial. This is best way to teach and learn, which others are missing. YOU ARE GREAT. Thanks a lot for your totorial and I will follow more.

There's no need to duplicate the text to apply a stroke to it, you can use the stroke order buttons in the Fill+Stroke dialog, so the stroke will not make the filled parts of the letters narrower.

Nice first tutorial. I'm on a Mac and don't have the "Page Up" or "Page Down" buttons. What do I use instead?

Thank you for tutorial. One suggestion though. It is better to convert final design to curves (paths ) and not keeping specific fonts references in svg file.

Hey, thanks for posting this! My difficulty right now is finding a site that provides fonts that are free for commercial use. The reason is because I suspect people are taking fonts that are for personal use only and presenting them as free for commercial use on their font sites, with the authors' names but no contact information, so there's no way to verify if those fonts are really free for commercial use. Any thoughts on this?

I tried to follow your guide to have Inkscape look like illustrators art board and I am not allowed to save the template at the end. When I try to replace the saved default I get an Erie saying it could not be saved due to unknown file name I just downloaded Inkscape and followed the guide exactly and Idk what’s wrong

Well I fixed my own problem. I uninstalled Inkscape and re downloaded it but as a zip file instead of the msi way. Re followed your guide and it saved first try.

Something is annoying in this tutorial each time he does something he said "check my article in which I explained this" which is very annoying when I go back and forth between the video and the articles
