    Hi
    First of all (and I have also mentioned it in the video), I want to apologise for misleading you at the start of the video, by saying we will be fixing the 40 Mph speed limit, which looked like a limp mode condition...
    Throughout the diagnose, I decide to tackle the fault with the throttle body, which although would not be causing the limp mode condition, it definitely contributed for it...
    So, I made this video for the throttle body problem only...
    The limp mode, I believe is being caused by the DPF, and that is something that deserves his own video...
    Now, the issue with this throttle body, is a common thing, on all BMW 730d, 530d, 525d... basically all the ones with the base M57 engine...
    Follow me on this video to find out the problem and how to possible fix it... yes possible, depending on how damaged it is, it might not be possible...

    Thanks for the detailed fix action. I had the same issue on my 2009 530d and your solution worked perfectly for me. I used a dremel tool to make the cuts on the casing and it worked well. I cleaned out all the oil, saw the break in the PCB and soldered a thin wire across the two solder pads. I did have one issue when I was testing it with the cover off - the black gear went spinning off and it took about 10 minutes for me to find it (lodged in the fan casing). But then Voila - no error anymore. Hopefully my DPF will regenerate tomorrow when I take it for a drive...

    I reparied the oily throttle valve . I have opened the case with an screw driver. The case of the electronic I didnt seal it. Now i have the Problem 3F77. Is it important to seal the case of the electronik of the throttle valve?

  • @XTCSMarius15
    @XTCSMarius15 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You saved me. I manage to take the case apart without cutting the corners. Just made my way with a sharp straight screwdriver, slowly bending the edge, then it poped out.
    It was full of oil and it was coroded in the exact location like yours, I fixed it with a small wire, then i seal it with a glue gun... so it wont corode again that spot, then i lubricate the seal, and pop the case in. I hit it with a small hammer on the edge to make the cover thight again so it wont leak oil. Everything works fine for now... we will see in the long run. Thanks buddy!

    Hallo warum muss nach der Reparatur der Platine der Drosselklappe die Abdeckung abgedichtet werden? Ich habe nach der Reparatur nun den Fehler 3F77. Motor geht nun ständig in den Notlauf. Die Abdeckung habe ich mit einem Schraubendreher gebogen und auch nicht abgedichtet.?

    Great work as always. Your knowledge is great and thank you for taking the time to share that knowledge with us. It's a pleasure. Also the dpf problem can also be caused by the faulty glow plugs and glow plug module I had the same problem on my 525d. They have a similar engine so that might be something worth looking at.

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      Thank you for your comment...
      The glow plugs on there own are not critical for the DPF to regenerate... but they indeed play an important role...
      It might be though, that on some cars, or even on some BMWS, depending on the engine ecu software, they are actually imperative, and need to be fully working...
      I will be soon posting another video on this car, regarding the DPF... stay tuned...

    Hello, in the BMW E65 730d facelift, after DPF burnout, there is a jerk every time when extinguishing. When the car is turned off in other cases, this symptom does not occur. While driving, there is a wave of revolutions as if something is choking this car, and what is responsible for the frequent initialization of DPF burnout

      The cog system is spring loaded, if I recall correctly... so just put everything back in the rest position...

    Hello, nice job. My car is throwing the same codes. I'll check the Throttle body but can you give any leads to the 41BA code for the backpressure sensor? Is it the sensor itself? I can read the pressure in the DPF on live date and it's about 15mbar on idle, so I'm assuming the sensor is working

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly...
      But is it working under pressure?
      Are the pressure within acceptable values?
      You need to check all those things...
      15 mb at idling is already slightly on the high side...

      @@LMAutoRepairs Well I'm driving the car mostly in the city, so it doesn't get the chance to do a regeneration as often as it should and sometimes the pressure goes up to 60mb! I'm thinking that there is something adding to the dpf getting clogged up, like injectors, burning oil, egr etc. Injectors seem rather fine on live data, and the EGR seems to operate normally but anyway, I'll try and work on that throttle body and see if it get's rid of the pressure sensor code as well

    I was though wondering without correct fusing is there any risk to the ecu as I assume the plug goes directly to it.
    And as oil doesn't conduct electricity what was the likely cause of the original one giving up?

    Another bad design by BMW, thanks brilliant piece of work done, it might explain my fault codes 00483D throttle valve actuator fault and possibly linked to crankshaft sensor signal fault 008E91. Mines misfires at starting whether cold or warm and there's a slight hesitation when switching off. Will definitely investigate inside the casing of the actuator. Present codes: 4677 Throttle-valve actuator, 4877 Throttle-valve actuator, 0043D1 Throttle-valve actuator, activation, 0049E7 Throttle actuator all are DDE codes.
    I have managed to remove EGR and Throttle Body. Cleaned everything and put together. A reason why I was removing to inspect why Throttle Valve doesn’t move when engine is being switch off and just shake the whole engine. I can move Throttle engine valve by hand.
    Have done a test with ISTA+ against Throttle Body and valve doesn't move at all.
    What could be a reason why doesn’t function?
    How can I test is wiring or fuses are ok? I didn't dear to remove that cap from throttle body without testing out all possible solutions.

      Hi
      I will be soon posting another (and last...), video on this car, regarding the DPF, in there I will be explaining it...
      But basically, this have two main functions on this engines at least...
      One, it closes when the engine is turned off, starving the engine of air, allowing a smooth shutting down... another one, is when egr air is going into the engine, this closes slightly, reducing the amount of fresh air, that also increases the combustion temperature, which helps on the regenerations of the DPF...
      Hope that answers your question.
