Great video!!! Is this fix still going strong in the car? I would be interested to know, since I also own an E65 and have tried to solder several materials onto the worn wipers, but after a few months the error would come back... Haven't tried your idea yet though.
Hi Unfortunately I can really tell... I presume yes, has I have not been asked or told otherwise... I found the other day something that looks even better than the stuff I used on this video... The accelerator pedal of a Corsa D has some brushes that look really good .. You can get hold of one on eBay for less than 20... Thank you for watching and for your comment!
@@LMAutoRepairs Hi, Thanks a lot for your comments! I will consider the accelerator pedal! And if you do happen to get any feedback from the E65 owner, please do let me know! It is my impression that BMW engineers selected the very thin/fine wiper material for a reason. Any thicker wires that I have soldered on, would sooner or later trigger the error again. Thinner ones would wear very quickly. But perhaps the (relatively thick) phosphor bronze wipers from your VR do the trick anyway! Do you remember which brand/type of VR you used?
@@LMAutoRepairs Just one more thing: how many wipers could be harvested from one acceleration pedal, more or less? (Of course 4 wipers are needed per SZL.)
Got that fault on my e65 yesterday. Seemed fine after a restart. I had this issue 8 years ago and BMW replaced the SZL under warranty. Thanks for the video.
Wow...that was really "out of the box thinking". Great job. I need to tackle my one on my 2007 730D. Getting a Drive Control error . Says its the Steering Angle sensor. I hope its an easy fix. This video will however make it easier to get to the sensor. Thanks
