For a man who always claimed he was totally dependent on his writers, he came up, without missing a beat, with four incredibly funny lines. This clip should be held up as the definition of- Class.

Presented by Arthur Freed, the guy who ran the MGM musical unit and supervised production of the great musicals of the 40s and 50s. He was also a very talented lyricist, responsible for some of the great standards of the 20s and 30s. He's unfortunately also recalled in Shirley Temple's autobio as having pulled his pants down in front of her when she was around 14. Complex man.

Actually none of this is complicated. Freed was a very gifted writer, and producer who also was an exihibitionist, and got his predatory jollies watching the face of young girls as he exposed himself in front of them. See how simple this is.
