I put together a southern mountain rifle in .40 caliber from Kibler last year, even though I made a few mistakes building it, I love it. However, every time I have to clean the thing I am reminded why I prefer a smoothbore!
I could almost smell that Apple when you shot it. It was short but it was sweet but I'll take anything you want to put out as far as black powder shooting goes. Thank you for the video and you also remember keep ye powder dry!
I would like to know reason you used triple F powder in the barrel and 4F powder in the pan? Does the 4F powder ignite easier than 3F powder? Which has bigger grains??
4-f is the smaller granulation. It burns faster and speeds ignition a little. 3-f granulation is for small bore rifles, pistols and revolvers. I will prime the lock with 3- f when humidity is high. It won’t get damp quite as fast.
Now THAT is a properly tuned lock! Very nice, indeed. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching!
That smile at the end of a good shot, and that feeling of pure joy, I wish we could share that with all folks.
Fun! Just pure, clean fun.
@@traditionalmuzzleloader4983 & a fine skill to have, when necessary.

Can you hit a target at 200 yards the size of a paper plate ?

I remade my new ramrod out of Brass rod and it worked perfect. I do not have that rifle now it was stollen.

Most of us use metal range rods and save the wooden rods for hunting and historical events.
Haha that apple was vaporized!!!
I love watching it in slow motion. Thanks for watching.
