I survived a stroke 4 months ago at the age of 43. My whole life has been turned upside down with my days filled with doctors appointments and therapy. I feel great sadness for all I lost, but your videos give me hope and help me remain focused on my recovery.
That’s pretty young. I didn’t know even babies in the womb can have a stroke. I’m even young to have had a stroke, 63, average age is about 73 , from what I’ve read. A week before my 61st birthday I had my stroke got out of stroke icu on my birthday to go to rehab for 10 days. I’m still alive so I guess I can’t complain. Only about 7% survive a CVA stroke from what a doctor told me 🤷🏽♂️
I’m right there with ya! My stroke was 6 months ago and I’m 44. I was fully paralyzed on my right side. The amount of appointments, both doctors/specialists and PT/OT, is very overwhelming, especially when you barely have any energy to stay awake. But, stay hopeful and strong ! I’ve made great progress so far, but it requires a lot of hard work. You can do it! 1% better every, that’s what I tell myself.
Yes! It requires a LOT of hard work! I was 63 when I had my stroke. I thought I was too young then. I was in the hospital in rehab for two months. I got out and got in Home Health Care for one month and then lost my Medicare for six months. I just got my Medicare back in October. And I’ve been busy making appointments for PT, OT, ST and Equine Therapy. And the Nuro fatigue is real… That’s for sure!😮
4 yrs of transvarse myelitis.. Still i can,t walk gently or comfortably.. My right side are not working properly.nd my right hand is not working.. Can u tell me, if i have the opportunity of getting fully well like before😢😢😢😢?
I guess I’m really lucky. I had a CVA stroke and I actually get around ok. As long as I’m walking straight forward. I lost almost all coordination in my dominant left hand. Hard to write or do much anything with my left arm. I’ve fallen once in 8 months but I kinda got over my skiis on that fall. Idk if anyone else has episodes of the room “spinning” but not a loss of balance . I can look sharply to the right or left and it stops. I was told so many times, it will take time but I think I’ve gotten as good as I can get. It is definitely a life changing experience

I can't lift my stroke knee in a march, any tips to gain that?
Great question! You can start by working on it by laying on your side then progress to laying on your back or sitting.
Thank you, I'll give it a try!😊
Same as @MsDivaSassy so thanks for that reply and the rest I will give a go. Thanks so much 🎉
