In Black Mesa: Blue Shift, the remake/mod for Black Mesa, you can also mess with a security guard fixing a camera and piss him off.

I found out recently in Half-Life: Decay Gina gets the sample from another elevator. She's just another middle-man and we still have no idea where the sample came from. Completely useless addition to the lore.
