Hello :) Been doing HIT for like a year on and off. Went to the gym today after watch this video yesterday. Tried holding the weight for 5 secs after not being able to move it. Then did the 10 secs negative. Damn that intensity was higher than usual. Could feel like every fiber of the muscle tissue contract. After the set was done I felt a rush of blood in the muscle group and got a kind euphoric feeling :D Loved it, best work out in a while. Thanks for spreading the knowledge.
She's a good trainer. I only had personal training once. When I trained at Roger Schwab's Main Line Fitness in Bryn Mawr PA, they had just installed X-Force machines. You had to have a trainer to use them. The machines force you to do heavy negatives. My strength increased so much and so quickly that I had to reduce my workouts to once a week after only a couple months of using those machines. My trainer was also pretty awesome and pushed me harder than I could have pushed myself at that time. Roger Schwab trained Mike Mentzer at that gym when Mentzer was preparing for the 1978 Mr. Universe and the 1980 Mr. Olympia.
EVERY Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Physical Therapist needs to replay this video again, and again, and again, listen closely to Ms Durell.
OMG if you see this video, you will never go to the gym. no phone, music, headphones... This is a pure workout. It's not easy.. But this is how it's meant to be . No fuc**ing about. This is pure... and real
Patty, are you related to Dave Darrell. Several years ago he had a TH-cam channel, titled high intensity nation I believe. Anyway I loved this video. From assistance reps, static hold, to change in cadence. The training was intense and I plan to implement things I learned in this video in my training. Thank you.
MedX is arguably the best, but good luck finding those outside a HIT dedicated facility like this. Nautilus as you mentioned, maybe some Cybex. Hammerstrength plate loaded machines have good resistance curves....look up Drew Baye's latest demo in his home gym. Don"t know about their selectorized machines. I think most brands have some decent machines but also some really bad machines in their lineup. need to try them out and see how it feels to you.
after watching some vids, Nautilus and Cybex were mentioned, but also 'Prime' and Atlantis. I don't even think nautilus still makes anything (it's a nameplate now) but it does seem to still be found on good quality equipment. My gym just got a bunch of 'technogym'. I'd stay away from that brand. In addition to being massively over priced, a lot of the selectorized stuff just has an abnormal rom/feel to it. Some of it is alright, but I see no reason go with Technogym. And tbh, the common 'life fitness' equipment seems generally pretty good to me too. Precor seems like a mixed bag. Some of their equipment has really hard pads. They're on Princess cruise ships, but I'm not sure how common outside of those.
This looks like the hardest and most uncomfortable workout out of all the different types of working out. Isn’t there a middle ground between this and some more volume?
Как ты думаешь, если я до этого делал бычьедерьмовую высокообьёмную программу, мне стоит взять пару недель офф перед тем как начать высокоинтенсивную тренировку с 1 сетом до отказа? Или можно начать прямо сейчас?
What is popular is not good ,and what is good will never be popular. This type of smart training is unequally superb. And most lack the iq - cojones combination to engage in it.
TUT makes no difference at all except in terms of safety (a lighter load will be safer) and possibly metabolic adaption from higher TUT Anything from 20 seconds to 3+ minutes will work almost exactly the same if taken to failure
@PaintDryLifting wrong. Look at 100\200m Sprinters and 800 runner's. Both going to failure. First need 7-10 seconds, 2nd needs 1: 50 minutes Two different body types.
This is the biggest issue I see with HIT. Most of it you can’t do on your own to push yourself to the level you need to be. But personally I do not like paying a personal trainer to help me and I just don’t have time to do workouts with someone else. I want to be in the gym in and out as fast as possible. But for HIT to be effective you pretty much need a trainer or someone to help you push through the challenging positives or get you to the negative so you can go to complete failure.
So THIS is how the training to failure should look like? It makes my HIT sessions look like a joke. Who in their right mind would think that "volume" is better than that? I mean the video is almost painful to watch.

Yeah gonna try this as well

You can find x force at Gainesville Health and Fitness in Gainesville, Florida. Not too far from Dunedin. I would be happy to give you a tour.
In those deeps reps of HIT, its changes from physical effort to mental strength.
I tried this new candence. 3-4 second up and a slow 7-8 second down. With some holds at the top. It's a whole other level of HIT - intensity 💯
Does it actually help tho
@rockyp32 currently in the process will let you know in a couple months
Really glad you posted this!!👍👍👍💪

This is awesome! Really great to see the coaching in action 🔥
She is awesome!!
Great trainer.
Her coaching is top f*cking notch!!!
Awesome specific coaching, Patty!
That leg Press Machine 🤯🤯🤯
Good video Jay. Superb trainer, knows how to get you to dig deep.
Taste of your own medicine Jay!😂😂

machines really are the best to implement HIT
That is the definition of HIT.
Not in the traditional sense. Far too slow on the concentric and negative.
@@layne4376exactly. Unecessary fatigue
@@layne4376 no need to speed it up, slower cadences are safer and just as effective.
Definition of boredom....
@@layne4376 3-10 seconds right?
At least, 3 days of sleeping and eating...😂 Great trainer. Well done .

Great Video.
Great stuff
Even I felt that workout
What if we only have conventional machines and free exercises?
Thanks Jay amigo
Excellent
What about something for media delts?
Damn Jay trained so intensely that I wanted to puke!
Jay i was watching the world strongest Men train back. Allot of fast reps. Do you agree with that style for their purposes?
Good stuff, guys.
What are other good machine brands to use other than natilus? I'm trying to pick the best gym based on the equipment they have

On the first chest machine Jays on is he going full range or partial
Jay’s so humble man! 🤙
whats the first leg press called and how to get one
It is a MedX Avenger.
She's something else
interesting, drop sets to failure, something that i practice as well.
How can I contact you per email?
Isn’t the second rep of leg press too much since he already hit failure on the first?
It was just drop sets and negatives. So a set extender, not another set.
That’s the comment before watching the video: this is certainly going to be dope. I bet on it.
this type of training is great for neurological aspect, but i have my doubts about hypertrophy aspect.
Only if you believe that motor unit recruitment isn't the signal for hypertrophy stimulus
Patty Durrell is a goddess.
Does Patty have a TH-cam channel or social media account.
13mn 58 ❤❤❤❤❤
She's brutal lol

Rest 10 to 15 days.
Depending if you feel overtrained or not. If you're feeling OK and not fatigued, a week off should be fine.
Wow!

Diese HIT Trainerin sieht aus,als hätte sie noch nie Trainiert😂😂😂😂
It's endurance workout cause time under tension is to long. Do it like Dorian Yates style.
TUT makes no difference at all except in terms of safety (a lighter load will be safer) and possibly metabolic adaption from higher TUT

Did she know there was a camera there?
Glad she's not my wife 😮

you can train to failure on your own. just track everything and push to grow workout to workout.
BS

Awesome video! An amazing experience. Next time cut out the elevator music in the background or whatever it is. Super annoying.
Thanks to both of you @jayvincentfitness
