Great video bro! I'm totally inspired by your mixing perspective. I literally hate mixing my beats in a daw smh I'm way too critical and I'm constantly running to the car tweaking every detail to the point I start to hate the beat. I've mixed some beats in standalone then 2-tracked into logic and I got my desired sound a lot faster. In '23 I think I'm gonna mix my beats totally in standalone because I make way too many beats and music should be about fun and expression, not frustration and stress. Thanks for a great video bro.
@@malobeats going to watch this again later so I can learn tuning my samples to good frequencies and making that space , the beats are there it’s just knowing how to make them sound best possible ,
BIG shout out to you for these MPC Standalone Mixing Tips!!! Simple but super effective! Subscribed not even half way through the first video because you are a great teacher! THANK YOU!!!!
Really dig your channel. Mpc live 2 has been a lot of fun. Thanks for all the good tips. Always clear and easy to understand. It’s been a lot of fun just watching you have fun rockin out. Appreciate your view on music and the creative process.
MALO.. You are blessing to the community my brother. These are the little bumps in the road that I come across, being a Dawless producer, and this is what I needed to see. I just bought a Rodecaster Pro 2, but I also have the Zoom H8, along with the Analog Heat MK2. Great video my brother, have a blessed holiday!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
Incredible insight bro. Got my MPC ONE on the way and already been a 404user (sx and mk2) so this my first MPC. Been a fan of your videos for the longest. Big up
Hey brother, thank you so much for supporting the channel and showing the love. Analog heat is a must have in my standalone workflow, I can’t work without it now.
Malo good look my guy, thank you for sharing the knowledge! You helped me figure out how I wanted to start my own channel, and gave me a totally new approach to mixing and producing in standalone. Appreciate what you do for the culture!
I love your use of hardware fx on the MPC, it gives your channel a unique style. I've been running my MPC through a 3d binaural panner called the Quasar lately, been pretty cool for getting really ethereal floating chords.
Bro for real I love your approach to this game of music. Your very honest and clear. I do everything in the MPC... Vocals everything... The analog heat sounds pretty good for your gritty Wu Tang style imo. The greatest thing I've learned on the MPC is changing the xyzx efx option to Program so I can automate efx on each track like tape stops and filters.. I also use the zoom H5 as my mixer at times.. 🙏🏿
Is there a video tutorial or something on that somewhere? I’ve used XYFY with effects but I can’t figure out how to record or automate them so it actually … I don’t know how to say it, saves to the beat.
It would be cool if Akai added tons of mixing and mastering presets for any genre that could be further tweaked. It might be hard to implement since everyone uses their MPC a little different though.
@@malobeats your rant was 💯!! Also I've heard some mixed things on the heat but you made that thing really bring out the best of the beat! Do you care about lufs or any mastering metrics?
Amazing video Malo, thanks for providing the sample chops and obviously the gems regarding your stand alone process. You are so right regarding the how meticulous and stressful mixing / mastering can be. As always, your beat 🔥❤️🔥🔥💪🏻
The final sound of the beat is amazing. So crunchy, fat and bright in same time. Well done man! I used to did mixes in DAW same way you did before. Its horrible. Never again! Thank you for this video. It gives me that energy that i try to do it right way. Totally agree with everything you said. Btw. Flavor pro sounds good. I saw some tutorials and it looks like really powerfull plugin that i need to buy. Thank you for your dope video again and please keep going. Your knowledge helps to community a lot. All the best to 2k23🙌
Hey brother, you have no idea how much this means to me and thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. I know exactly how you feel since we come from a similar background when it comes down to mixing and it’s such a vibe killer That I do not want to go through ever again myself. This whole entire year has been nothing but fun and my energy with my own music has been at its most high since I’ve chosen to not take my mixes, so serious as I used to, I also feel my mixing has sounded much better now that I’m a lot lighter with it versus me trying to over complicated how are used to.
Recordemos que la mezcla es un rompecabezas así que tenemos que hacer ese barrido de frecuencias para que cada una de ellas encajen bien dónde deben estar
Any tips for getting the correct amount of loudness once inside the DAW? What levels are your beats at when you import them after this process? Thank you so much, I loved this video a lot
Very Good explanation ! Love your Videos Bro, please keep on it. BTW i also use the analog heat, its a Monster Unit 🧨 BTW we already love your two drumkits But we Need to See some new coming 2k23 ?!😎happy new year Brother 🍀
Tengo otra pregunta en la MPC es lo mismo que en el daw sabes para mezclar llevo una estructura de ganancia de 18 db para comenzar a nivelar cada uno de los samples
I’m not the best at mixing and mastering, and I’d like to follow your example. So I need something like the electron analog heat for what you’re doing though, or not really? Thank you for your videos and content 🙏🏼
Hi Malo, thanks for your video! I was wondering what happened to the EH Platform you used to recommend for compression at the end of the chain? Perhaps you’ve realized that the H6’s own compressor is good enough?
Hey, I’m so glad you brought up the EH I really wanted to make this video focused on the plugins within the mpc but I still have to be real and show the analog heat because that is a go to for me, the guitar pedals are always optional and the EH is an amazing stereo bus comp that I highly recommend. I’m currently testing out the ZOOMH6 limiter and comp for the mastering final touch but not yet have it fully mastered. Thank you so much for taking the time here

It’s tuff but if you stick to it you will get it. took me a while to mix and print a full beat on stand-alone, tbh I love it way better all then the daw. it’s a different feel and sound to me! 2023 is standalone mode nothing else for me. 😊😊😅😅 Puzzlegang

I hear what you're saying and it sounds complicated, anyway the way I make my Beats is one instrument or groups of instrument in the case of a drum set, at a time, what I mean is let's take a drum set, It has multiple frequencies that you have to deal with, so I build a beat from scratch. I realize that's different from sampling, but you got a mix those drums correctly in the beginning to the point where you get a clean and clear drum rhythm going, and then I put a baseline down and tune that instrument to fit with the drums as best as possible, and then all the other instruments will come in one at a time and will be mixed in with the other instruments one at a time, which allows me to produce a beat without using compression and maintains a non-distorted level, when I have all the instruments going, I fine-tune the levels of each instrument, so they do not interfere with the other instruments in a negative way, maybe I'm right maybe I'm wrong but that's the way I do it, because it comes out pretty good.
