    Thank you so much for this. I am wondering if I mix this with a whisk instead, if it would cut down on the air bubbles/foam. Have you ever tried it with a whisk?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio

      Yvonne! I bet that would work for sure! The problem for me is that I make 5 gallons at a time and I don't think my arm would last whisking 5 gallons! ;-)

      @@medinadomesticartsstudio yeah I don't think I would want to use a whisk on that much either! lol

    Can I use that fabric paint on fabric sneakers?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio

      Absolutely! In order to heat set the sneakers, throw them into a dryer at the hottest setting for an hour- 1.5 hours to assure that the paint is washable…

    • @Readhistory

      @medinadomesticartsstudio won't it overheat the plastics? (Converse chucks for example) thanks for the help

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio

      @@Readhistory Hmmm... without knowing each brand of tennis shoes/sneakers that could happen... another way to heat set would be to use a hair dryer. You would have to use it for about 5-10 minutes in each spot and as with the dryer, be careful of possibly melting plastic on the shoe.

    I'm using opaque fabric paint. So I should use the opaque extender instead of silk&fabric extender, right?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio

      Yes! Now here is the tricky part - how much opaque extender to use ! I would suggest starting out with a small sample using tablespoons of each mixture to come up with the ratios. It can be very easy to put too much opaque extender in which can make your paint chalky. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I will do a quick video on this!

    • @ChaiShe1

      @medinadomesticartsstudio Thank you for your answer. Silk&fabric extender looks more liquid than opaque extender. If i only mix opaque extender, lo crock binder and transparent extender, i think it will be thicker than yours, even if I mix less amount of opaque extender. Will it be a problem or should I mix with thinner or silk&fabric extender too? If it will be easier to explain, I would be appreciated to watch your quick video.

      I just ordered the ingredients with silk extender. I’m looking to paint velvet. Should I have ordered opaque extender instead? Also what ratio of acrylic paint do you use for this?? And any acrylic paint will do???

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio

      @@debizand hi Deb. I have never painted on velvet however I believe you need opaque paint to work on velvet. So if I were to recommend acrylic paints, I would start with Jacquard Neo Opaque Fabric Paints as well as their Lumiere Metallic Paints… both have excellent opacity and work very well on dark or black fabric. If you want a very high-quality high sheen paint then I recommend.Prizmpour by Colourarte. Finally I can recommend nova acrylic paints, but you need to be careful as some of their paints are translucent rather than opaque. You will need to read the detailed description of each to determine which is which. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

    1 cup is 8oz not 12 so how much pearl would you use?
    For a recipe of
    3 cups of the 3 ingredients
    Which is 8oz x3= 24
    24x3= 72 total.
    So how much pearl?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio
      @medinadomesticartsstudio  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah busted! I stink when it comes to math! Here is the simplified version: 3 cups Lo crock binder, 3 cups translucent extender, 3 cups fabric/silk extender and 1,5 cups pearlescent extender.

      @@medinadomesticartsstudio I heard that adding some fabric softener to acrylic paints works.

      Not sure about the fabric softener (first time I’ve ever heard of that trick). But you may want to check out Helen Godden’s videos…. She is a fantastic fabric painting artist from Australia who is very generous with her knowledge. In the meantime, I find that just playing around with various different products then test washing them will let you know how the product stands up to use…. Keep those comments and questions coming! What is fabric medium?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio
      @medinadomesticartsstudio  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is a liquid polymer that causes the color in pencils to adhere to the fibers of the fabric. When it is heat set with an iron, it “melts” into the fibers and traps the color making it permanent and washable. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
