It’s crap it doesn’t work and its only redeeming feature is that when you can get it to work it does get hot. Please do not wast...

Yikes, I’m not sure you know what that acronym means on the internet 😂
A DTF is a type of iron on transfer that can be applied to fabric and other materials. Many of my students use DTFs in quilts, on clothing and embroidered blocks.
I know this is an older video but when searching to DIY my own fabric medium this came up. Since then I've watched some of your other videos and I'm impressed with your reviews and what you said!! Where can I find the pdf file for the fabric medium recipe in this video? Thank you very much for all the research you did
Hi! Glad you liked the video! If you will go back and look in the description, I have included the entire recipe there. If you have any questions after reviewing the recipe, please let me know…. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing the tegnique - what kind of fabric do you use, 100% cotton with a dense weave? ❤
@@christagouws2782 I primarily use 100% cotton sateen. It has a very smooth finish that makes it easy to color.
See you Saturday 🎉
Hi, what would you recommend for diluting Angelus paint? (or other fabric/leather paint?) In my country their "diluter" isn't available and Ive been searching for weeks now. Thank you in advance.🙏❤️
Hi Naomi! Well, you have stumped me! I have never painted on leather nor have I ever used Angelus paint! I did look into it and it seems to be a form of acrylic paint if you can’t use their diluted, you may want to look into an acrylic paint thinner. I know that pro chemical and dye sella an acrylic/fabric paint thinner…. I just don’t have a clue as to whether it would work with this specific paint. If I learn anymore or have the opportunity to try this paint, I will get back with you. Good luck with your search.
@@medinadomesticartsstudio Thank you. ❤️🙋
Perfect video, needed to understand shading using these pencils. 😊

Exactly the info I needed. Wow, would love to take a class that you teach someday.
Thank you! If you go to my website and sign up for my newsletter, I post where I will be teaching each month.
Thank you so much for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for your tutorial on using my acrylics markers and fabric medium.
Glad it was helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions!
A DTF transfer is a direct to film transfer. A special printer prints on a film of plastic and then adhesives are applied to the wet ink. The design is then placed on fabric and ironed onto the fabric. When the plastic is peeled away the ink adheres to the fabric.
What is DTF?
Well done 🎉🎉 15:54
Another great tutorial.
Glad you liked it!
Woooooow tooooop work ❤
Thank you so much 😀
❤ beautiful design.
Thanks Michelle… always love your videos and tips!
Very pretty, i was wondering if you could use crayola colored pencil on fabric if you use medium and heat set it? I have the 36 set of inktense pencils but just curious, thank you
@@barbaracollins9100 you could color with the Crayola colored pencils on white/light fabrics but not denim…. The blue denim changes the colors…. You really have to use an opaque paint or marker on denim
@@medinadomesticartsstudio thank you for answering my question, I love watching your videos. You're very talented, thank you again for all your help
Where do you get the tool?
Which tool are you referring to, Cheryl? Be happy to let you know...

Isn't it awesome? I am SOOOO about bling and glimmer!
❤awesome I’ll definitely try this! Thanks
I have acrylic paints and would like to paint some tea towels. Which medium would you recommend? The Delta? I was told to use Liquitex but seeing that it's your least favorite, I'm curious what you would recommend? Thank you! Edited to ask if you wouldn't mind explaining the difference between textile & fabric mediums?
I would first recommend my own that I make ;-) but if you want to buy a commercially available fabric medium then I highly recommend the Delta Ceramcoat which is available at Hobby Lobby and Michael's and of course, Amazon. The Liquitex is simply too thick for my tastes and leaves the fabric rubbery feeling. If you want a really super soft feel, you can use Golden GAC 900 fabric medium but it bleeds really easily whereas the Delta Ceramcoat is thicker but not too thick so it doesn't bleed. And I don't believe there is any difference between textile and fabric medium - just the same thing with two similar names... Hope this answer helps!
@@medinadomesticartsstudio Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and so quickly at that! You are too kind! I thank you also for your tips. I will look into purchasing the one you make as well. Blessings :)
This is so interesting! I’ve never thought to try these on fabric. Do they wash out?
@@erinburgess607 inktense pencils are made with permanent India ink and once you set them, they are permanent and washable.
What fabric do you use? What do you use so it doesn’t bleed?
I use 100% Cotton Sateen…. The Fabrico markers don’t bleed and my fabric medium keeps the pencil from bleeding
Can we use baby oil or aloe vera for medium? I just got my inktense pencils and I don't have medium, ty
Of the two choices, I definitely would stick to aloe Vera…. Be sure not to get too much on your brush and heat once your work is dry. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@medinadomesticartsstudio thank you very much, I really like your videos, your very talented

Thank you! 😊
A plan z is to cut out the insect and sew or glue him onto another piece of fabric. It’s for the worst case scenario
Yes particularly since I colored it on batik I could glue him onto another piece…. Just silly of me not to listen to my own advice!😜
yeah that is a genius o o n a g h 72
😂😂😂😂
Wow!! Looking good!!!
This is so beautiful! I would like to try this. I have been painting on clothing using Golden Paints and their GAC medium that turns the paint into heat-set fabric paint. It's so incredibly rewarding to create designs directly on fabric!
I use GAC 900 fabric medium quite a lot myself although I do make my own fabric medium from pro chemical and Dye’s raw materials…
@@medinadomesticartsstudio Oh, that's really cool!
Love your tutorial. I’m going to check out some more of your videos. I found you in the comment section on Anne Livingston Art videos. She had mentioned that it’s a mystery why there aren’t more older women doing TH-cam. I a 60 year old who started TH-cam last November. Your right your never to old to learn something new. There is so much to learn about having a TH-cam channel. Slowly but surely I’m getting there lol. Thanks for sharing your knowledge here on TH-cam!
Thanks Laura! I love how to videos (mini quilt rack caught my eye) and just subscribed to your channel! I think TH-cam is a bit intimidating to our generation... the younger bunch can just whip out videos and post almost instantaneously ... not something I do easily BUT I just keep at it! I'll keep posting if you'll keep posting! ;-0

I found the TH-cam to make, but cannot find the place to order on your website. I don’t see it in the pens category. Can you help? Thanks again!
I’m really good at hiding things on my website!🤣 medinadomarts.com/shop/ols/products/pearlescent-fabric-medium-2-oz
Found both your video to make medium and website to buy, BUT could not find the medium for sale.
Do you sell or give the recipe for the shimmer medium?
Yes, I do sell it on my website look in the pencil section. However, if you would like to make your own check out the step-by-step video I made on how to make your own fabric medium. It should be in my playlist. If you cannot find it let me know and I’ll send you a link.
Do you wipe your pencils after dipping them in the medium or do you just sharpen them after they dry.
Excellent question! Both, actually... I find that wiping will get most of the medium off but ultimately, if I have been dipping alot, I have to sharpen the pencil once the medium is dry on the tip. Thanks for your feedback!
Do you have any of the bling- bling in your shop?
Yes m'am! Here is the link: medinadomarts.com/shop/ols/categories/bling Let me know if you have any questions or are looking for something specific! thanks!

Such a cute design! 😊
Thank you! 😊
Will you be adding this design to your shop?
It’s there now! I updated the info in the description and it tells you how to order it!😀
This is a class I have been asking for!!! Guess I'll just have to get the directions off your website since I don't belong to a quilt guild or live in a private rv park. 😢
This class as well as two others are being offered at the Best Little Retreat Center In Texas. These classes are open to anyone. I have one lady who drove all the way from Kerrville to come up and take these classes. The Retreat Center has one of the best classrooms I have had the opportunity to teach in as it is big enough to handle up to 25 students… very few quilt shops have classrooms of this size…. I hopefully will continue to offer public classes here at least twice a year…
Tried to order but it won’t let you click on either. Looking for DTF.
