    Hi, what would you recommend for diluting Angelus paint? (or other fabric/leather paint?)
    In my country their "diluter" isn't available and Ive been searching for weeks now. Thank you in advance.🙏❤️

      Hi Naomi! Well, you have stumped me! I have never painted on leather nor have I ever used Angelus paint! I did look into it and it seems to be a form of acrylic paint if you can’t use their diluted, you may want to look into an acrylic paint thinner. I know that pro chemical and dye sella an acrylic/fabric paint thinner…. I just don’t have a clue as to whether it would work with this specific paint. If I learn anymore or have the opportunity to try this paint, I will get back with you. Good luck with your search.

    So are you saying you can use the gel pens on fabric?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio
      @medinadomesticartsstudio  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes, Laura, you can however the only ones that I know that are permanent and washable are those made by Sakura - their Gelly roll line as well as Arteza’s gel pens. I have tested these as well as other extensively. If you have any further questions about this, please do not hesitate to comment further! Thanks!

    I have acrylic paints and would like to paint some tea towels. Which medium would you recommend? The Delta? I was told to use Liquitex but seeing that it's your least favorite, I'm curious what you would recommend? Thank you! Edited to ask if you wouldn't mind explaining the difference between textile & fabric mediums?

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio

      I would first recommend my own that I make ;-) but if you want to buy a commercially available fabric medium then I highly recommend the Delta Ceramcoat which is available at Hobby Lobby and Michael's and of course, Amazon. The Liquitex is simply too thick for my tastes and leaves the fabric rubbery feeling. If you want a really super soft feel, you can use Golden GAC 900 fabric medium but it bleeds really easily whereas the Delta Ceramcoat is thicker but not too thick so it doesn't bleed. And I don't believe there is any difference between textile and fabric medium - just the same thing with two similar names... Hope this answer helps!

    I normally just buy the average Joe acrylic paint that you can find at Walmart or Joann fabrics, etc. Do I need a fabric medium for those? Thanks!

      Hi Amy! So... I would have to say that it depends... are you putting the paint on an item of clothing? If so, I would seal the acrylic paint with the fabric medium so that it retards the eventual washing out of the paint. If you are just putting the acrylic paint on fabric that will not be washed or washed infrequently, I wouldn't bother with the fabric medium.
      Interestingly enough, I just colored a denim shirt with acrylic markers, then used Unicorn Spit to sparkle the markers up. The Unicorn Spit washed out almost completely and took some of the acrylic marker color with it. I recolored the shirt, coated it with fabric medium, then used the Unicorn Spit mixed with fabric medium. This time, none of it washed out! So maybe be safe rather than sorry - or simply take the risk and recolor if necessary! Thanks so much for your comment!

    I’m wanting to paint RV cushions and I have latex paint on hanf. Is it OK to mix acrylic medium with the latex

    • @medinadomesticartsstudio
      @medinadomesticartsstudio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmmm... the problem with latex is that it dries hard. However, it could be that mixing it with the acrylic medium would give it some flexibility. let me run that past a couple of people I know who know the chemical makeup of paint better than I and I will let you know...
      Are the RV cushions the fake leather or the cloth version?
