  • Hip boards run the length of the hoop house and are most often found at 4’ off the ground parallel to the base boards.
Baseboards run level down along the ground at the base of the structure.
Ridge poles are the pipes that run along the center underside of the top of the hoops parallel with the base boards.

Very clear set of instructions as given. However, what are you suggestions for bracing the end walls at plumb while squaring up the structure's overhead? Happy Building! -Bob...

Your directions say to place the baseboards before the hoops. However this video shows the hoops installed first? Does it even matter?
Also, can you use 1x6 hip and base boards instead of 1x8. Lumber is expensive and it seems like even a 1x4 would be enough. Can you advise please?

As long as you are maintaining 4' OC from at plumb end wall you will be fine. 1x6 will be fine but I would advise to go wider than 1x4.
