Ok I appreciate it for sure, i been watching your video's and it looks like it works really well, i seen the savvy dirt farmer using one was the first time I ever seen one in action then you, i am going to try and put up 2 green houses and 2 shade houses so thats a a few post to sink, they will only be 20x40 all of them so tiu see why thats a alot of pounding for a 64 old man lol , i appreciate the quick response thank you
@@kennethmartin9583 good luck to you!
I have been watching your videos. I live in Douglass Kansas. I bought a 20' and a 12' bender from Boot strap Farms.
I like watching what you have done. My son and I are going to work at doing what you are doing. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you for your support! Bootstrap Farmer is a great company to be affiliated with.
Thanks for the video, getting ready to build my own hoop house in FL and found your vidoe helpful, Thanks!
Hey thanks for watching and watch for my newest videos!
Wish I would have seen this video a while ago. I put up a similar structure but used PVC conduit and T posts. Works well, but it goes without saying that rigidity is a problem in gusty winds. This solution is a lot sturdier.
So perfect work
Nice to meet you great man !
So proud of you Sir
Thank you ! I appreciate you watching!
I gotta try this! Thank you so much for sharing! Being a female, I had thought about this do-it-myself but had no idea what size pipe or how to begin!
Thanks to you..I have some idea! Pipe bending I have never done but there is a first time for everything!
I will have several of these and will we using and growing in straw bales and regular 1 gallon, 5 & 10 gallon grow bags..year round..I hope!
Will let you know how its going and again..
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH..FOR SHARING
Thank you for the kind words! Sounds amazing and good luck to you on your project!
Really great information and impressive work, thank you for sharing.
Thanks, this video is great help. The resolution is impressive too.
up here in Quebec Canada we have longer winters but hoops can help accelerate the growing season
Awesome! Great job! I'm with Kim! You should get help! But I also know stubbornness is what keeps you up and going!- Cyndi
Good idea to go vertical instead of horizontal. I built three 55 footers, alone - skinned them with plastic, alone. I'm about to do another.
COMPLIMENTI PER IL VIDEO MOLTO BRAVO !!!
nice job i would like to make one 20 x 20 smaller size appreciate you sharing this video
Wives, can’t live with’em… seriously though, inspiring video.
I think some people can't catch the difference between growing food & growing money. Food is a gift of God. Nature doesn't sell or buy anything. It's a blessing of God.
This is great idea.
Great work
Muffler shops can bend the pipes for you as well for a small fee. They do a great job and can get very exact angles across lots and lots of pipes.
Great video; so did you start your bend with 9 inches and all the other bends after that was 18 inches
If I remember right that is correct. If your needing a little more insight check out the bootstrap Farmer link it will not only have products but a awesome library of instructions and information on everything I use in my videos.
Hello fellow Kansan. Nice channel!
Hello and Thanks 😊
Thanks for sharing your video. Instead of plastic sheeting, can you use polycarbonate 4' x 8' sheets attached to the metal 1 3/8" poles with self tapping metal screws and a flat/fender washer?
I would assume so but you would want to know the UV rating of that first.
@@KansasGardenGuy I see. What is an appropriate UV rating? I suppose the UV rating would be how much of the UV spectrum that plants need is let through or reflected?
@@oldporkchops actually I’m talking about if the polycarbonate would withstand being out in the sun 24/7 and not break down. Greenhouse plastic has a UV rating on it to keep it playable and able to withstand the elements for numerous years before needing to be replaced.
@@KansasGardenGuy Yes, the 4x8 sheets have a 10 year warranty and are meant to go on greenhouses and carports. Some people have gone 15 years since installation and they report the panels to be as good as day one. Thanks for taking the time to help clarify.

Great Video! Thank you
Thank you ! Thanks for watching!
Hi. Curios on the length of your top rail and what the width and length of your hoop house .
What I’m understanding is that you have 30 feet of top rail connected mail to female to make 11 feet wide? Is that correct?
It's 3 pieces that total 30 ft of topsail. Saying that it makes a 20ft wide footprint.
Question, what is a good brand of gas powered post driver, I dont do it for a living but have several to drive amd really dont want to pound them, I am getting too old.for that :)
@@kennethmartin9583 I purchased the Jack hin 52cc one and it’s done amazingly
Hi Tracy any tips on putting the screws in the to 10' section so they don't twist while you're doing that? Yes
I laid them flat on the ground and connected them than Tek screwed them. If I had one move I just adjusted it but another person to help hold would really make things faster.
How much did you save by bending your own vs ordering a basic kit? How many man hours did it take to get to this point?
Diy kit cost around $3500 . That was before Corona hit also so keep that in mind.
My new 20x100 all metal Bootstrap Farmer kit with all the bells was around $13,000
But my DIY is only 20x60 and about 30hrs
amo tu canal
Is that one single top rail that you bent or is it two connected to make the hoop?
Three 10ft sections bent make 20ft width.
is there a standard thickness pole size you should use for a greenhouse?
It's just 1 3/8 top rail chain link fence posts in 10ft sections. The bottem is 1 5/8 posts for chain link fence. All can be had from box stores in your area
Could one use plastic pipes? Would plastic pipes be easier to bend?
They do not stand up to direct sunlight well. They get brittle in heat and cold.
DO U KNOW EXACTLY HOW MUCH PVC PIPE I WOULD REQUIRED FOR 1 ACRE LAND ??
And length?
It's high-tech Awesome
How do I get more information about these.
If your needing information about the “ how to part “ or parts needed to make your own tunnel I have a link in the description where I purchased all the parts not available local.
Interested in making a hoop house. Where are located? I am south of Topeka.
Just North of Topeka
❤❤❤❤❤
Perfect 👍
Thank You! 😊
Where can I buy pipe ?
It can be purchased from any home big box store.
A really quick way to improve the "motion" in your motion picture would be to learn to edit out the time your not in the picture.
What is the width and height?
It’s 20x10x65
@KansasGardenGuy what are the lengths of the pipes?
@@KansasGardenGuy Pretty big
@@m.o.hmenofhonoracademy1897 they are your standard 10ft sticks.
Is the top arch made out of two poles? How long is it altogether?
It's 3 - 10ft sticks makes a 20ft span when it is arched.
@@KansasGardenGuy I am sorry to be still asking - so 3 10foot lenghts of top rail fitted together apart from the two 4 foot lenghts that are in the ground? I am trying to calculate how many sticks I am going to need and hence costs. Thanks so much for these videos, they are an enormous help.
@@rohinisrs to make a 20ft wide tunnel you need 3- 10ft sticks per arch and 2- 4ft poles to go in ground. That is for each section. The sections are on 4ft centers.
Example: my tunnel is 65ft long so I have 17 sections.
@@KansasGardenGuy Got it, thanks so much.
Not only you. I have the same problem
What are the dimensions of your greenhouse?
It was a 20x60
@@KansasGardenGuy Thank you
Whats the distance of the pipe?
3 -10ft sticks make it 20ft span
I wish I could buy a 20’ bender. Bootstrap has been sold out for months. Where in Nebraska are you located?
I'm in Kansas
Back in stock. Just got mine
I made mine by bending angle iron to the correct diameter
@@jakej1850 could you please share the bender's diameters?
can you tell me separately the dimensions of the pipes and your tunnel?
They are your standard 10ft 1 3/8 top rail and 6 ft 1 5/8 bottom posts. You can purchase them from any big box store. I used 3 to make the arch and one bottem cut in half to make the bottom posts.
Bootstrap Farmer . com has the printed instructions you can download
Neat! 👍
where did you get/make the pole bender?
I purchased them from Sutherlands but you can get them from any big box store.
I just re-read your question....the bender is from Bootstrap Farmer and is around $50
@@KansasGardenGuy thanks heaps!
