I like the shrouded air bottle. I wish more manufacturers would make some attempt to cover the plumbing. My only gripe with this looks wise is that I'm not a fan of the free floating picattiny rail at the front. If that was anchored, I think this would look much better.

But other than a couple of tiny mice in the kitchen I have never shot anything else, and even then I felt abit mean. I’ve had the mk1 version for some time now and it’s a brilliant little gun. I’ve got a Wildcat FAC, the new Brocock XR Ranger, the Dreamline light and the AA tdr and if I had to let one of them go it wouldn’t be the Walther Reign. It’s my go to gun if I want to take a quick walk over the farm - it’s beautifully simple in operation and just does the job. If I had to start again this would be my first purchase. As for the ban on lead does anyone know if this would apply to copper coated ammo like H+N Power. A few years ago I had an R10 in FAC (177) that preferred these to almost anything else.
Almost tempted to upgrade my Mk1 to this but as often happens a manufacturer dispenses with one of a rifles key features in a clumsy attempt to create something better🫤. I bought the Mk1 because of its exceptional light weight and portability in spite of it not being regulated. Now they give it a regulator but pointlessly (imo) increase the weight - on a gun obviously intended for pest control where a lot of walking over rough ground might be the order of the day. One step forward and two back.🤦♂️

And it even performs, despite the peculiar odd design of a plastic clamshell filled with airgun parts..😂 But that is also probably why many been pushed away from it. I kinda can understand that. @@simonnoble7589 Checked that Wells Fargo air rifle.. Walther Lever Action, with a 8rd rotary mag? That's the one I'd buy if I'd gonna buy a lever action cowboy rifle. I got sooo quickly bored loading the cartridges on my Remington 1875...🤣 Although - I do love that revolver. And I ain't no revolver fan. I would like the Gamo PR-776 though. Two rotary clips into a large cylinder. And a fully adjustable modern rear sight. Pretty damn neat.

I'm hoping my new Mark II will turn up tomorrow. It will be my third! This bullpup is pure utility and, as you comment, somewhat overlooked. Among my other PCPs, including a well known Swedish brand, the REIGN is my turn to weapon of choice for all the reasons you mention. It is a great all-rounder.
Never been keen on the Reign personally, especially when it's almost twice the price of the RM8 which is just as accurate and gets as many shots. Yeah I know the Reign is lighter, though not by much 0.6kg. I think the only thing I like better with it is the cocking lever, but again not for nearly twice the price.
Matt. I agree. I have the RM8 UC and can’t justify the price for this. Another £400 and I can get my dream air rifle. So my RM8 UC will do me fine for now. Lol
Maybe if they did push pins for the stock for easy access(not too many ) could give more reason to buy. I seriously considered this but spent that extra to get a quality feel and look same reason i wouldnt buy a g36c if i had the option over an l85 a3 or m4 Too much plastic (which overheats)
Nice grouping I am impressed with the gun and the old Geezer pulling the trigger . It looks a very capable piece of kit . Nice review Andy you make me feel like I want one .......
I’ve just bought one hoping it will be here by the weekend. Anyone got any suggestions for the best pellets to put through it? It’s my first .177 rifle so looking forward to seeing what the difference is from my collection of .22!
I have the Mk 1, (.177) which I've owned for 3 years, I also own an RM8 Varmint in .177. The Reign Mk2 barrel appears to be the same as that fitted to the Varmint, including the muzzle brake. I'd be fascinated to know what has motivated the change in barrel design, particularly as the shrouded barrel was such a feature of the original design.
They changed the barrel because the original reign had issues. They have basically removed the barrel shroud and the defective part and called it the mk2 reign.
Great review as always Andy but I can't help but think they've not done much to make this a worthy upgrade. The styling is the same, the accuracy is the same, shot count the same, fill capacity the same (I assume), pic rails are the same. I'm assuming that as it's a Walter then it has a Walther Lothar barrel? It seems to be a pretty good choice for some great pest control, with it favouring a heavy pellet at very close to legal limit, before it tops out into the FAC realm. Personally I'd like to have seen the underside pic rail extended to twice the length at least, so you can mount a high power torch for some dusk/night work AND a bipod, or, a torch and a foregrip that pops out into a tripod arrangement, plus one or two short pic rails either side of the foregrip? Don't get me wrong, it's a solid piece of kit, but somehow I just can't see or justify the reason for shelling out premium change for very little overall change.?
To anyone on the fence.... Get off and go buy one. I have the Gen 1 and it's AWESOME! can't see myself changing for any reason, great on the range and great at putting food on the table!
Excellent video as always Andy. It is said that "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", and in my humble view, the Reign really doesn't tick my boxes. It seems to have had it's genes passed directly from the Beluga Whale. Trying to hide the bottle inside the design really doesn't look that appealing to me. The shot count doesn't seem that great for a bottle fed, regulated gun either! However, at the £765 price, it certainly fits an important sector in the market. Compact, ergonomic, accurate and generally nice to shoot, the Reign 2 is bound to gain lots of fans. Probably my FX Wildcat has spoiled me somewhat, but it cost a heck of a lot more. Fair play to Walther for producing - whatever one's view - a great Bullpup.
I'm kind of tempted to swop my daystate pulsar for the reign mk2 but feel like I'd regret it if I did, what would you say Andy 🤔 keep my pulsar or trade in for the mk2

Great show today . The rifle is a super all rounder. Maybe 🤔 you can get a used one ! . Did you sort your cronie out ! Take care … cheers 🍻 Simon
Hey how are you on this Saturday ? I've just bought the Wells fargo cowboy 🤠 rifle. It's going great 👍 pushing 7ft lbs ! ... HOWS the crono situation ? 🤔 take care Si 🙂 England 🇬🇧
@@brorjordas1979 That all sounds fantastic…. Yes 2 x 8 round mag . It’s great 👍🏻 going back to open sights ! Just need me some bunnies 🐰 I hope they don’t move much lol 😂 😎
@@simonnoble7589 Yea. Those cartridge loading lever actions are cool, realistic and all - but I prefer the 8rd rotary mag system. Got plenty of them Walther mags from before because of many Walther/UX airpistols.
Nice to turn up at a FT meet and do well with this little pup , Wonder what Ft scopes would fit nice for standing shots .
Good honest review 👏
I had a go with one of these at RAG on its indoor ranges and honestly loved it.
May actually get one of these.
Good hunter that 1. 👍
A better looker but still not easy on the eye. Shame you cannot detach the cylinder cover. Looks great for close vermin use around a farm.
Nice!
What was the moderator silencer you used?
Never been keen on the Reign personally, especially when it's almost twice the price of the RM8 which is just as accurate and gets as many shots. Yeah I know the Reign is lighter, though not by much 0.6kg. I think the only thing I like better with it is the cocking lever, but again not for nearly twice the price.
thanks that leaves more for me.
Matt. I agree. I have the RM8 UC and can’t justify the price for this. Another £400 and I can get my dream air rifle. So my RM8 UC will do me fine for now. Lol
@@j7127 much thanks, that leaves more for me. RM UC is 2 steps below the reign. as a former military sniper. what do I know? you get what you pay for!
amateurs?
Maybe if they did push pins for the stock for easy access(not too many ) could give more reason to buy. I seriously considered this but spent that extra to get a quality feel and look same reason i wouldnt buy a g36c if i had the option over an l85 a3 or m4 Too much plastic (which overheats)
Andy, great videos and info.
Have you done a video on the Ataman Bp17? Just wondering.
Thanks
How does this compare to FX Dreamline Bullpup or FX wildcat? Are the later that much better being 2x the price? Thanks, for the video!
Nice 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Morning Andy
what was the silencer you fitted on this please?
Hi, Any plans to review the Reximex Ixia ? your view would be greatly appreciated
I like to buy one, what guns shop, this new walther reign 2 will be available???
Hey could you do one video with your favourite airgun co2 pistols?
Pretty cool little bill pup I have a question for you Andy what is your opinion on the the best pup for around $500 bucks
Nice grouping I am impressed with the gun and the old Geezer pulling the trigger . It looks a very capable piece of kit . Nice review Andy you make me feel like I want one .......
Hi what pellet do you recommend in .177 for the reign m2 please ?
I’ve just bought one hoping it will be here by the weekend. Anyone got any suggestions for the best pellets to put through it? It’s my first .177 rifle so looking forward to seeing what the difference is from my collection of .22!
Good Stuff!!! - 👍
@@eatmynoobfood7461 what was the problema?
The scope rail looks very high off of the barrel, so surely there’d be an absolute mountain of holdover on short range shots?
At sub 12 FPE it's not that bad.
When will this rifle hit the market I don't even see it on their website.
What do you use to add air? Thanks!
What suppressor is that?
I have the old walther reign and groups like a shotgun
Is it that good 👍🏻 😂
When there is no more lead pellets all guns will group like a shotgun!!!
@@tomwilkins3099 so you’re feeling up beat about things ! We adapt to over come 😎🤪
But only $599.99 for the UXT in the states something off with the UK pricing
Old post but it's not called ripoff Britain for nothing. Also the USA higher powered ones do not have regulators so cheaper to make I assume?
Can you review the snowpeak p35 soon please
To anyone on the fence.... Get off and go buy one. I have the Gen 1 and it's AWESOME! can't see myself changing for any reason, great on the range and great at putting food on the table!
I am confused... is the Reign 2 regulated of not? Is the non UK , more powerful variant regulated or not?
Seems to be the way, higher power not regulated . The .25 may not be regulated also?
Is it the Marmite effect? I love the design and have this gun on my wish list.
Great review as always Andy. Thank you and best wishes.👍🏻🇬🇧😍
If it ain't broke .......
@@stevenjones916 no it's not broke.. Still shoots like its just came out of the box just a little heavy for those long days carrying around and have been thinking of getting something lightweight
ive owned a couple of RM8`s which have had a few issues of pellets falling into the mechanism, anyone know if the Reign has the same issues ?
Is that Walther as in...
Walther PPK?
How do i get this unit from Indonesia
Fill probes in 2022 ?
