I am glad he is honest about it though. There are many actors who claimed to be a big comic book fans but don't know how to answer comic related questions.
+ss12311055 lol hes just a nice guy thats a good actor. he probably thought it'd be a cool character to play to add to his resume because its really different than any other character hes played. plus hes surrounded by a good cast. if you got great people and good script sounds like a good gig to me if youre an actor.
+ss12311055 It doesn't really matter whether you're a fan or not. It's stupid to think that you have to be a fan do the role. That's like saying that every actor have to be fan of their films that does't even exist yet
+Zain Shah I dont think hes underrated I think its just he doesnt land every movie there is under the sun particularly because he picks and chooses only good ones with good scripts. hes one of those where if you see hes in a movie, you can trust its going to be a good movie. because he doesnt settle for complete trash.
he is honestly so freaking adorable. his little giggles, his awkwardness, his shyness, his speed talking. dang jesse is a mix between hot af and an adorable puppy
I'm just here to release my sexual desiring tensions over Jesse Eisenberg. Thank God he's an awkward person because that is one of his most attractive points.
He'll play a fine Luthor. Afterall, in Social Network he did a great job as the arrogant, practically unstoppable yet deeply flawed genius billionaire. There's no doubt that he'll produce a similar portrayal for Lex, most likely amped up to 20 with a more sinister edge and a bald head.
well i liked it but the bill murray cameo, coupled with woody harrelson and emma stone made it the best for me but shaun of the dead came a close second.
You lot do know he isn't really lex Luther right? 😄 he's got his own personality. He's an actor for God's sake, he can change up for the lex Luther role, he looks menacing when he was bald in that picture
***** It doesn't matter to me if Lex Luthor is slim, because Lex Luthor has nothing on Superman, even if he was a bodybuilder, against Superman, the superhero who can push the moon in space if he powered up enough. Lex Luthor needs Superman's weaknesses to actually have an edge on him, hope to see Lex Luthor in his battle armor in this movie.
+hedlund88 affleck is a good actor who had shitty movies to play in, but he reads comic books so he can understand the characters and how to portray them Jesse while a great actor too and with awesome movies behind him haven't read the comic books so he don't fully understand how lex acts or works... i'm more afraid of his performance. i would recommend for him to watch the superman TAS show and Justice league animated version to understand luthor
An oscar/golden globe nomination, and countless other award wins can't even suffice for irrational fanboys. Jesse is going to kill it. Had an amazing line in the teaser. Chills.
I definitely approached him at the airport (i know rookie move.. lesson learned) and he was definitely super sarcastic. He wasn't a complete asshole though he was polite and carried a short conversation with me. But you can tell he's a little nervous person hahaha awh
Jesus, people, he's an actor! Who he is in real life does not have to be who his character is. Although an in-character interview would be fun. Anyway Jesse is witty and well spoken and funny. I'm sure he'll do a great job.
I love watching Eisenberg get interviewed because he has such a quick mind. Its like you/the interviewer can barely keep up with him. Great choice for Luthor.
Why is it that only 20-somethings are playing superhero characters now? He seems much too young to be Lex. All of a sudden they've got these young, pseudo-adults playing roles like the Fantastic Four, X-men, etc. that were originally for adults. Not that they're bad actors, but it just takes something out of it for me. Like it's a young adult novel adaptation but with superpowers.
Should? idk.. Maybe it'll be interesting to watch younger incarnations of the characters. We'll see how this plays out, but I weirdly have some faith in this movie even if i hated MoS.
LGJobe Well, for me it's less about comic accuracy and more about feeling like it's actually a solid story. It just doesn't make it feel serious for me. Like, it's clear that the movie was made solely to make money. That's probably it.
Everyone should pick up The Education of Charlie Banks. Two surprises. 1. It's directed by the frontman of the 90s numetal band Limp Bizkit. 2. It's actually very good.
no surprise there, of course he isnt a CB fan but i'll admit he did look menacing in that photo which was released and he had one memorable line in BvS trailer. i wouldnt have hired him for lex luthor but we're stuck with him so i will give him benefit of the doubt
He actually would've been a great Joker, to be honest. I kinda would've loved to see Kevin Spacey be Luthor in BvS but written in a more serious, more cunning, and actually a darker Lex Luthor than the last one he played as, while Jesse Eisenberg would've been a great Joker if there's another reboot of Batman with Battfleck (loved his work on the Batman role... just hated the script he had to work with...). I can't blame Jesse Eisenberg, really. If he was made to act a more serious way, less awkward, and darker, then thats atleast one less flaw in the film.
Everyone is talking smack about him playing lex but I'm sure after watching the movie you'll see the reason why he's playing lex. I'm sure we're all in for a big surprise. These guys know what they're doing. He's also an amazing actor if you've watched his movies before.
He's so gonna manipulate Batman into thinking Superman is this evil being who's gonna destroy the world just to get him to do his dirty work. After they fight then realize they are not enemies, then that's when they team up to get rid of Lex.
You got to admit Jessie's line from that Batman v Superman trailer send chills through your spines "Devils don't come from hell beneath us, No they come from the sky" Lex Luthor is known for being a SOCIOPATH and Jessie can definitely pull it off
I actually really dig Eisenberg as an actor, but wouldn't have picked him for Lex. But i'm reserving judgment on him and Ben till I see the final product..Same with Gal Gadot...
Just remember that everyone threw a conniption fit when they Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker, but now most people consider it not only a personal best for Heath, but of comic book villains in movies
Fan-boys take the excitement and fun out of everything, it's hard to get excited over anything when they have to go on and on. How about actually waiting for the film, watching it and then judge it? I mean, hell you even complained over Heath Ledger playing the Joker and look how that turned out
Jesse Eisenberg, Fran Lebowitz and Woody Allen -- all have similar speech cadences. Each one is a secular Jew, each one exhibits a level of intelligence well above average, each has a touch of unapologetic neurosis. To many people they have a popular appeal.
I am glad he is honest about it though. There are many actors who claimed to be a big comic book fans but don't know how to answer comic related questions.
ss12311055 Right. And he's not a dick about it either, he's almost mystified that comics weren't a part of his life.
Dee Wolf Almost certainly not.
+ss12311055 lol hes just a nice guy thats a good actor. he probably thought it'd be a cool character to play to add to his resume because its really different than any other character hes played. plus hes surrounded by a good cast. if you got great people and good script sounds like a good gig to me if youre an actor.

I can't get over Jesse's adorableness!
tubaforeva ikr
tubaforeva no
tubaforeva mmm nah am over it
tubaforeva D'awwww, thanks!
tubaforeva Yes!
He is an underrated actor. It is high time he gets some recognition. Go jesse!
+Zain Shah I dont think hes underrated I think its just he doesnt land every movie there is under the sun particularly because he picks and chooses only good ones with good scripts. hes one of those where if you see hes in a movie, you can trust its going to be a good movie. because he doesnt settle for complete trash.
+0bstinacy Yeah... You obviously haven't seen 30 Minutes or Less.... Its an okay movie but not great....
Oompa Loompa Jesse Eisenberg looks like Lex Luthor .
A man that uses 'likewise' in a talkshow interview deserves my respect...
why
Ra r likewise

he is honestly so freaking adorable. his little giggles, his awkwardness, his shyness, his speed talking. dang jesse is a mix between hot af and an adorable puppy
I'm just here to release my sexual desiring tensions over Jesse Eisenberg.
Thank God he's an awkward person because that is one of his most attractive points.
+Ms7deadlysins That makes it very attractive
I feel the same way too

Same! 😊❤
This guy's humor is quick and sharp haha I like him.
I’m in love with Jesse Eisenberg. Love his witty and smart comments and his smile and speed talking and many others of his personality.
Alex Barrios So you want lex luthor to basically be mark zukerberg?
Ivan Cherganski I want Lex Luthor to be an arrogant, unrelenting, deeply flawed, sinister genius billionaire.
Alex Barrios so mark zuckerberg? ;)
Alex Barrios
So not jesse eisenberg?
Alex Barrios Lex Luthor also is extremely self-centered, egomaniacal, fully confident and psychopathic.
I feel Jesse Eisenberg would make a great rapper.
He could star in a Beastie Boys biopic.
Hahahahahaha
MrMajed3000 I think it would sound and look like Watsky
Rapper name: Mr T (for twitchy)
MrMajed3000 *snicker*
Is anyone else extremely attracted to him?

+Sajida Ahmad Now You See Me? Yeah same here, wish they got more screentime though... maybe the sequel can fix that? ;)
OMG SAME!
do Zombieland 2.
hand's down the best zombie movie i have ever seen.
Shaun of the dead?
well i liked it but the bill murray cameo, coupled with woody harrelson and emma stone made it the best for me
but shaun of the dead came a close second.
Rahul Singh that would be a dream come true ^^
Nicolas Pasqualis what do you mean *would be* it already is a movie
Trepid Panic zombieland 2? really??
He's actually quite funny surprisingly
You lot do know he isn't really lex Luther right? 😄 he's got his own personality. He's an actor for God's sake, he can change up for the lex Luther role, he looks menacing when he was bald in that picture
When he got his head shave he was suddenly compelled to steal forty cakes. That's 40 cakes. That's four tens and that's terrible!
Arliss Caruso Solid reference. Not many people will get it, but I got you.
Arliss Caruso well done, sir.
I got the reference. He stole 40 cakes!
Arliss Caruso #NoStealingCakesAllowed
Arliss Caruso captain pls..
omg this guy is quick and witty! Love him!
He is sooooo gonna fuck up Lex!
You know it !!!
Thomas No
A- Double they make a batman/superman cross over with batfleck and you worrying about lex
A- Double Who cares, its gonna be a trainwreck of a film as have all the other superman films.
***** It doesn't matter to me if Lex Luthor is slim, because Lex Luthor has nothing on Superman, even if he was a bodybuilder, against Superman, the superhero who can push the moon in space if he powered up enough. I absolutely have faith in Jesse for Lex Luthor
at least he is honest about it
An oscar/golden globe nomination, and countless other award wins can't even suffice for irrational fanboys.
Jesse is going to kill it. Had an amazing line in the teaser. Chills.
Him being Lex Luthor is the BEST thing about this movie. So for you who think that he's shouldn't get the role, I can't even..
I love him... and I enjoyed him as Alex Luther.
I definitely approached him at the airport (i know rookie move.. lesson learned) and he was definitely super sarcastic. He wasn't a complete asshole though he was polite and carried a short conversation with me. But you can tell he's a little nervous person hahaha awh
mark zuckerberg plays a good jesse eisenberg
I like how people are bothered that an articulate, intelligent and charming guy is playing Lex Luthor...
we're screwed for Batman V Superman, if not for Lex Luthor, why.........
Afirulnazrin watch the trailer. jesse's voice sounds great and menacing
hopefully the trailer near the premiering next year would convince me though
Afirulnazrin yeah i hate how we have to wait so long
Man, he's adorable
I can see how him and Richard Ayoade get along so well. They both have that knack for witty little lines.
He is such great actor, i loved him in The Double, so cute, i caan't wait to see his Lex Luthor
Jesse, Do you Bleed?....
Louise Asuncion WILL HE?!?!?
I think he'll make a great lex luthor, don't knock it untill you see it
He is one of the most intelligent actors out there .
His cleverness and witty remarks are iconic , too . . .
Jesus, people, he's an actor! Who he is in real life does not have to be who his character is. Although an in-character interview would be fun. Anyway Jesse is witty and well spoken and funny. I'm sure he'll do a great job.

"I pull it off well, it's the putting it on that's hard" I fucking love this man 😅
He's adorable and funny and I've loved all the movies I've seen for him!
He's so adorable . like him lots !
And this is our adorable Lex Luthor... how deep have we fallen?
MrSerrrg88 he is an actor
I used to teach his cousin gymnastics!!!!
Blu From (Rio 1 & 2)
& Lex Luther From Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice
He's pretty personable and funny. Made me laugh through this clip.
Dude I’m so in love with him it all started with now u see me and his awkwardness is just another turn on
all I see when I see this is Jesse, Heisenberg
lol the description of the video, "may be playing Lex Luthor"
Why is it that only 20-somethings are playing superhero characters now? He seems much too young to be Lex. All of a sudden they've got these young, pseudo-adults playing roles like the Fantastic Four, X-men, etc. that were originally for adults. Not that they're bad actors, but it just takes something out of it for me. Like it's a young adult novel adaptation but with superpowers.
doodl3bugg13 He's 31
Sofia FP Ya, like I said. Lex should be like 50.
Should? idk.. Maybe it'll be interesting to watch younger incarnations of the characters. We'll see how this plays out, but I weirdly have some faith in this movie even if i hated MoS.

doodl3bugg13 Movies are made for money, however, a fraction are good on actual plot substance.
He's so witty!!
Everyone should pick up The Education of Charlie Banks. Two surprises. 1. It's directed by the frontman of the 90s numetal band Limp Bizkit. 2. It's actually very good.
Tbh, I love to see more of Jesse in Now You See Me! I love his character as Daniel Atlas and his akwardness and how he speaks. XD
He is such a creature of his own kind )
This is simply one reason as to why it doesn't make an ounce of sense for him to be playing Lex Luthor.
his lex author performance is THE performance of his life! (so far)
What about atlas in now you see me he's pretty sweet in that
WORST CAST CHOICE EVER.
wannabe Michael Cera
ADORABLE.!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
He grew up in the 90's. That's kinda when comic sales weren't doing too hot.
no surprise there, of course he isnt a CB fan but i'll admit he did look menacing in that photo which was released and he had one memorable line in BvS trailer.
i wouldnt have hired him for lex luthor but we're stuck with him so i will give him benefit of the doubt

Jesse kinda reminds me of Nick Jonas...
i think
the hair, the reason is the hair lol
Whether or not you liked it he was great in now you see me
Everyone is talking smack about him playing lex but I'm sure after watching the movie you'll see the reason why he's playing lex. I'm sure we're all in for a big surprise. These guys know what they're doing. He's also an amazing actor if you've watched his movies before.

He has bulked up, I think he will be wellshaped Lex Luthor next year based on the All-Star Superman. I think he will own it in the role.
It's so cool seeing Michael Cera on here again.
You got to admit Jessie's line from that Batman v Superman trailer send chills through your spines "Devils don't come from hell beneath us, No they come from the sky" Lex Luthor is known for being a SOCIOPATH and Jessie can definitely pull it off
He's a great guy. Doesn't know a lot about Superman. But it doesn't mean he'll be a bad Lex Luthor. As long as he'll appear bald somehow. I'm fine.
I actually really dig Eisenberg as an actor, but wouldn't have picked him for Lex. But i'm reserving judgment on him and Ben till I see the final product..Same with Gal Gadot...
He's so awkward and cute
How in the name of Fuck can people hate on this guy??? This dudes great!!!
Just remember that everyone threw a conniption fit when they Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker, but now most people consider it not only a personal best for Heath, but of comic book villains in movies
Jesse Eisenberg, manacing. Good one Jimmy! 😂😭😂😭😂
Im praying they put Lex in the Mech suit in the film.
Not a comic bank fan
Not a FB fan
Guess some men can't be explained
F B
Face Book ?
So Superman and Lex Luthor are COUSINS!!!
Jesse Eisenberg is Jesse Eisenberg in every role he played.
He will play a great Lex.
I love Jesse so damn much... 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Lex Luthor, I'll wait for you!! :D
This movie will be EPIC
He is adorkable. :)
I love how awkward he is, perfect cast for lex
I don't know why but I would love to see him in a movie with Michael Cera and Andy Samberg
Not a big comic book fan. Well, that's reassuring.
he was the only thing that made the movie good man to be honest
He was the worst part about the movie
Comics are my LIFE
Fan-boys take the excitement and fun out of everything, it's hard to get excited over anything when they have to go on and on.
How about actually waiting for the film, watching it and then judge it? I mean, hell you even complained over Heath Ledger playing the Joker and look how that turned out

His nephews name is Ronin! Ronin!
Jesse Eisenberg looks like Heisenberg in that photo
Stop with the negativity! Remember when everyone said Heath Ledger would be a terrible Joker? Remember how that turned out?
I love Jesse so much. Damn
I thought the title said "Jesse Eisenberg is not a big Coming to America fan" lmao
Cue uproar
Not a Comic Book fan and know absolutely NOTHING OF THE CHARACTER! WB really blew it this time! No way I can think of this twerp as Lex Luthor
Man, I bet Kristen Stewart and Jessie would make a great couple :)
