I am a diehard KISS fan, what Gene and Paul don't understand is that I would pay money to hear the original members making fart noises over hearing a "musically superior" version of KISS.
I love this rehearsal...❤
Love that someone (probably Paul) plays the riff to “So You Want to Be a Rock n Roll Star” right at the beginning. Little did they know.
Always loved how Ace meshed that kind of pedal steel country (delta blues?) vibe into Kiss songs, more noticeable in early stuff like this. What a treat!
Yep. I hear that too.
Especially on the outtake "mistake".. a great one.
This was when Peter and Ace were on fire.
This recording sounds authentic to me. I was there during 1973. I'm quoted in Ken Sharp's book: "Nothing To Lose; The Making of KISS 1972-1975."
Would love to hear more stories.
@@superlawns2888 In my upcoming book, thank you...
I always thought Watchin You was their darkest, heaviest early song. Sinister. Strange Ways was another.
Thank you for sharing this!
Wow, heard bits and pieces of this before, and it doesn't get old hearing them in infancy..
These are the Boys! Fireworks, blowing the stage up , breathing fire, smoking guitar,c'mon man, levitating drums, . Pioneers.
I have always loved Ace’s stuff on Watching You….and it sounds like he almost had it all figured out here.
That jamming breakdown on "Firehouse" (9:31- 10:47) was awesome. I rather wish they'd kept that intact (maybe with a shorter gap) for later versions of the song.
Yes that part jumped out at me too. Peter and Ace did something there that sounded like it had a Jane's Addiction vibe. How interesting.
Thanks for posting it!
🎸🎸🎸🥁
Let Me Know is a classic. I loved that song and now you never hear it.
Damn this was great - goosebumps, and a big grin on my face! Thanks for posting!!
I love KISS till the day I die!
+Lisa Kreiter I like KISS in this period - before they became family-friendly comic book superheroes. I prefer to be intimidated by a creepy-looking band than amused by a goofy-looking band. Respect
AMEN SISTER
This is a testament to the Greatness they had since the early days, "Watchin You" sounds as if they are still writing as they go and it is still amazing with the guitar harmonies and backing vocals, my 1st time ever hearing this right now and I have been a loyal KISS fan since 1978! They were so AWESOME together MAGIC!!!....the Best...1 word......"WOW"
Love this and that solo of Ace
This is great.. And whats even more remarkable is the fact that All original members are still alive and doing great. Think about that. Compared to other bands.
I just listened to another loft rehearsal from another band, recorded 10 years later... 4 guys trying to get it together, just like these 4... they never launched, too many personal/personELL issues, lol.... I was one of those 4 guys in 1983. It's so cool to see we all started the same way doing the same thing in a manhattan loft, so happy THESE 4 guys made it. The background chatter is priceless!!!!!!!
I'm 46...have been following Kiss, since the Summer of 1978, when I was 5 years old, and got my first Kiss album, Double Platinum, that I played on a Fisher Price record player. I can Guarantee you that this is Genuine. Long Live Ace....A Guitar God. Without Ace, Kiss would have Never made it. Ace was Kiss. His solo album did better than any of his bandmates! He inspired so many people to pick up the guitar, and learn to play, including myself.
Really cool for a Kiss fan.
And they want to left the stage forever after the "End-Tour"? I can´t believe. My hero´s of the early 70´s. So rough and pure. Best thing I´ve ever heard in the last years. Thanx for posting, man! Listen from 31:10..... unbelievable!
Kiss army supports the 4 originals.
So does the 8track museum in Dallas,Texas. and Roxbury,New York
Ronald Dreimanis eric carr was a better drummer
8 Track Museum is gone.
Nope....no love for a junkie who deprived the world of his god giving talents! Peter Chris ?...nothing lost whe he left Proof is in the albums that Anton Fig drummed on
