    People in US wants Altis tail lights (9.5 gen and up is LED), while here i am wanting the trunk and garnish from US Corolla.

    I just got a pair of "Gen Ones" 7/2022 from a US seller and they came with an adapter pigtail installed to plug directly into the "North American Spec" harness.
    I did have to drill the hole for the lower mounting point. The reverse lights fit the bulb holders with no issue...
    I bought the "Gen two" back in December 2021 and the right taillight died. After 7 month.... So I decided to give the "Gen One" a shot.

      Yeah I’ve been told this by others that their gen 1 tail lights were totally plug and play and didn’t have any experience like I had. Mine shipped from overseas as well but at the time I installed them I thought that’s just how they were and just did the extra wiring and and drilled an extra hole and thought nothing of it. In hindsight, I shouldn’t have accepted them not being plug and play but at the time I figured that’s what they were supposed to be like. Lesson learned 😅

    I got the same lights on my corolla... They are amazing, here where I live no one has a corolla like mine....

      They're definitely a nice set of tail lights, pretty unique to have in the North American market!

    I have the Gen 1 tail lights on my car, they absolutely are plug and play. Got them 3 years ago and they come with the intermediate wiring harness to convert it to USDM.

      Also you may have gotten a defective tail light for the left assembly for the Gen 1. The fog light does not go in that hole, that hole is for reverse bulb. I've seen the genuine housings in SEA and they are for reverse lights.

      Interesting, thanks for sharing this info! I don't know which ebay seller I bought my gen 1s from but it definitely seems like they got several things wrong. Had I known that those gen 1s should've been plug and play I would've returned the set that I have and gotten plug and play ones but oh well, live and learn!

      Yeah, wish I'd seen your previous video earlier and could've let you know then. Love your videos though man. I recently acquired an XRS myself and looking to change out the stock tails on those as well. Debating between those Gen 2's and the ZRE's (CNDM)

    man i guess I'll just stick to the default gen 1 with that huge brake light, at least it's better than the older one with the orange signals
    the only thing i need is the entire door for all 4 doors, and that bumper skirt,

    Those tail lights can enter throught the holes without any problems or did you need to make a new hole in the car? The plug that the taillight has is the same as the car or you needed change it??

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, they're completely plug and play, no modification to the car needed to install them

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  ปีที่แล้ว

      They should fit fine! As far as I know the connectors are the tail light connectors are the same for all 9th gen Corollas

    Hwy Will! That looks fantastic! Can you post a parts list for my 2007 Corolla "S" rear drum to disc conversion? I think there might be 5-6 things need?

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! For the drum to disc conversion, you'll need backing plates, calipers, rotors, brake lines, and parking brake cables. Proportioning valve and hubs are optional, but the proportioning valve is recommended. For easiest installation, get the parking brake cables and brake lines specifically for a Corolla XRS. I'd also recommend stainless steel rear brake lines since it's a nice upgrade, and you're already replacing them anyway. The rest of the parts can be grabbed from a Celica GTS, Matrix XRS, Matrix M-Theory, Corolla XRS, and Vibe GT. I have a video on this swap which I'll link in case you haven't seen it: th-cam.com/video/T_-17_6Hp3I/w-d-xo.html

    I have an 07 corolla le with a 5 speed and I already got some wheels but should I lower it even tho it's a daily?

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to, go for it! I've had my Corolla lowered on coilovers for over 3 years with minimal issues. I wouldn't lower it a ton if the roads in your area aren't that good, but it'll make it look quite a bit better. Lowering springs are a nice option as well if you're not looking to spend coilover money.

    • @iandutterskateboarding8408
      @iandutterskateboarding8408 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WillChang yeah the roads here in Wisconsin are pretty rough so I might only lower it slightly

    • @WillChang
      @WillChang  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah tell me about it, I just moved from Wisconsin earlier this year. I did lower mine about 2in without issue, I'd be hesitant going lower than that with the road quality.

    I hate those clips used with the trunk. I don't have the Altis lights, as I went with the black Altezza lights from Spyder. Have had mine for 5 or so years.
