Great parents!! I just hope you have the memories. I was 18 when I saw them at Roundhay Park Zootv tour in 1993 I think and the memories have all but gone, I’d do anything to be back at that beautifully warm August evening, amazing show. Thank god for TH-cam !!
Too bad they have not played it since this Aussie tour...Lemon shows what happens when you don't play it safe and have the talent to back it up. They need another Achtung! reset!
U2 are masters of the transition live and this is the best concert video they ever put out. Must have watched this over 200 times since those days. Seems not so long ago but it has been 30 years since this concert.

It amazes me how U2 transformed themselves from the predictable Rattle & Hum era to this, in just a matter of 3 or 4 years. Unreal. Even U2 themselves can't one up this tour.
My brother had this on vhs. Since he never really took care of his stuff I took it 😂😂😂. He also went to this concert at yankee stadium with his then wife and our sister. I was really mad. My parents didn’t let me go.
This is something i won´t never forget. I´m happy to say that i was the lucky one to see ZooTv concert in 1992. Yes only one concert but i can say that i was there with other lucky ones. It was a night we all were the one.
The great thing avput u2 is their versatility. Look at led zeppelin, its mostly all just hard rock, u2 have everything. Youve got hard rock on songs such as exit and bullet the blue sky, there are anthems theres , "popy" music and there are hugely experimental songs such as zoo station. Very few if any other bands can play such a great range of styles
I love that about them and as you get more familiar with their songs then you realise how right you are. I don't know of any other band with so many great tunes.
That's literally why I consider them to be the best band of all time. Few other bands are as versatile, Radiohead comes to mind with their switch from alt-rock to electronica with Ok Computer and Kid A. Bu U2 is on a whole another level. You've got early post-punk U2, experimental U2 of the mid-80s (The Unforgettable Fire), the Americana U2 (Joshua & Rattle), the what-the-fuck-explosion-of-colors-and-sounds U2 of the 1990s, and then the return to softer sound (ATYCLB), and even hard rock (HTDAAB). Bands like Led Zeppeling, AC/DC, Queen, etc. are great, but come on.... They are/were literally playing the same stuff for literally decades. U2 is actually an excellent gateway to so many different genres of music.
@@TheAgandaur I agree with what you said about u2. Queen are another band who have a wide range of different song's, from hard Rock to ballads. Bowie also has alot of different styles. Brian eno produced this song Lemon with U2 and Oakenfold. But he also produced alot of Bowies work and I know he encourages band's and artists to change their styles and evolve their sound.
I'm not saying that you should or shouldn't like Led Zeppelin, but if you think that hard rock blues covers is all they did, then you clearly don't know their discography very well. Listen to "Going to California" and "Bron Y Aur" and "No Quarter" just to name a few. Very different than their hard rock stuff.
i remember i couldn’t stand listening to Lemon, but my partner at that time said “ one day you’re going to find yourself listening to this song.” and he was right. I miss listening to this together.
I have opening night in Vegas their residence at the Sphere. I’ve been over the top anticipating for the show and I hope they will play Lemon. Great live song

4 decades later and still going strong. I love U2, this band motivated me to learn to play guitar in high school, and had the chance to play CBGB's here in NYC with my high school band, twice...
These two songs together are the coda of the show. It's a massive transition from Macphisto's arrogance in "Lemon" to the stripped down character in "With or Without You". From 8m 25s mark to the the 8m 56s mark is where it all transitions from the superficial to the very real. Of course it gets heavier from here with "Love Is Blindness" but resolution is found in the final "Can't Help Falling In Love".
The five-song Zoo TV character arc for MacPhisto, in which all of his self-confidence and arrogance are stripped away to reveal a needy, pathetic child (but not one without hope for change) is U2's finest live moment, IMHO. It's theologically profound, as Bono portrays Satan as someone who still is very much haunted by God (throughout this concert, God is represented by the camera that Bono interacts with in his various roles) and, when stripped of his pride, finds that he still "Can't Help Falling in Love" with God at some deep place inside. And so U2 end the concert with the hope that anyone, including Satan, might return to God.
