Wow. Rewatching again and I never realized till now that the Sacrifice Bunt on the FAC tells you the fielder…beautiful!!! That’s why I watch videos on my hinge I think I already know. I never know what I’ve missed and been doing wrong.
John started whatching your channel really enjoying it. Waiting on playoff pitch baseball to come the postal service lost my game so when I get it I will be ready to play. Keep up the cool channel.
Played my first game of POP yesterday. I kept forgetting to turn the batter card to the next hitter because I was focused on the FACs. After 35 years of dice FACs are such a different feel. But I do like having less chart look ups. Also, I used the PDFs that I printed off of my machine in black in white. I think I’ll like the game and FACs better once I get the ones I ordered from the company. The quality of the cards and components make a huge difference to me.
Following up on my initial post since it was the day after my first Payoff Pitch game. I got to save that I’m loving it! I love the FACs as well. I can’t believe I prefer the FACs but I do for several reason. The quality of the cards, less chart lookups, and the efficiency. I do sometimes use dice still. I’ll also sometimes use dice for one team and FACs for the other. Which also would’ve bothered me had you told me beforehand that someone was doing that. Lol. I can’t believe I’ve only been playing this for a month. I’ve played more games in this month than I’ve ever played of another game in a month. Anyway, thanks again for the video John!
Great video!. I'm about 1200 games into Payoff Pitch and love it. I do the dice and FAC combo- roll for pitcher and batter and use FAC's for everything else. It gets a game down to 15 minutes and satisfies my need to roll dice. Thanks for this video!
Fast action cards, like with Statis Pro, are a nice change of pace. Using physical cards has a limited draw problem where each number is only represented so many times within a deck (without constant shuffling). This is reflective of the hypergeometric probability distribution; sampling without replacement. Computer flippers like Andy Lewis FAC flipper help fix this but requires a computer or phone. I personally like to go “off grid” as much as possible.
I agree if you're using the FACs to draw the random numbers for the pitcher and batter results. Less so if you use them the way most people do - for base runner advancement and defense checks. There is plenty of variety in the results there, though I get your main point about sampling.
Great video. Thank you for making this. How often do you shuffle the cards per game? I hear some shuffle every 3 innings. Sounds like you do it when the stack runs out. Do you shuffle them like a deck of cards? I have ordered the game and will play it for the first time. Looking forward to trying the FAC. :) Thanks for any feedback and thank you for your videos.
Thanks for stopping by! I have 4 Decks. I shuffle the 4 decks before each series starts. I use 1 deck per game. It makes thru unless I have a really long game - 15 innings plus.
@@ReplayFanatic To be clear you have 4 FAC decks and you shuffle all 4 together and than put them in 4 deck before the series. So basically all 4 decks are combined.
@@Avenroot incorrect. I’ve kept them separate since the day I got them. I just shuffle all 4 decks prior to the start of a series. And I’ve actually done some stats. In one series deck 1 gave me a 1-0 game. In the next series, after a shuffle I got a 7-3 game. I had no-hitters in April and none since. Same decks. So for me, it’s working.

That's great. Yes, about 15 minutes, depending on a few things (NL, extra innings, pitching changes) is the sweet spot for me as well.
John, thank you for the demo/explanation of the FAC cards. I have Payoff Pitch and have not played it yet. This will certainly help when I do.
15 Minute games are a reality with great results and a feeling that you just watched a baseball game. That's how I feel at least.
Good stuff John! I enjoy the narrative that FAC’s allow
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for the mention! :) And a big thanks to demonstrating the FAC!
Any time. Really enjoy your channel!
I just can't decide on which option to use for base running. As soon as I start using one option, I think there is a better option.
Got to pick one and stay with it. :)

As Ron & Dave on Digital Dice say -- "There are no perfect games". ;)

What’s the small number at the top center ?
What is ball score and ball stats you mention at 7:50?
John, Plaay said the cards for HMH are compatible for primetime. Currently watching Steve Tower’s playthrough of it. Great video by you!
Good to hear!

@@ReplayFanatic Thanks for the reply. What seasons do you have. You mentioned 1986.
@@Avenroot I’m currently playing 1977. I have about 8 seasons now. Growing everyday.
