    I just got one of these and I really love it. Here's a trick to better and more exact erasing, forget about the eraser end of the stylus and use the writing tip, you don't need to press hard and it erases clean.

    Good review thankyou. Just got mine so working out how to use it. The other thing is cos the screen is semi transparent it’s easy to trace over pictures or drawings to modify or develop further. Also I think with daylight you might be able to hold it up to say street view and get the basic forms to trace onto the BB. Thanks 🤟

    Hello,
    Great review! Quick question: It looks a bit dim. I wonder if you place a white or bright piece of paper in the back (instead of the dark ones supplied by the manufacturer), would it improve the screen visibility?

    • @gadgetstop321
      @gadgetstop321  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I tried puting a white paper behind the screen and the writing was still visible but not as good as with the black paper. I would compare it to writing on a white paper and a black paper with pale green chalk.

    Could you buy Velcro strips to hang it? They come in different sizes and shapes and work really well, especially for lighter weight items. I think they sell them in places like Michaels, in the section where they sell picture hanging supplies.

  • @gadgetstop321

    The Android app is now available. It allows you to scan the screen of the Blackboard. You have to adjust the corners of the scan manually. You can enhance the image by lightening or darkening it. You can edit the scan with pen, eraser, or highlighter options. You can share the scan as an image or pdf via email, Evernote, OneNote, etc. You can organize the scans into folders and add pages. The scan is not very good. I don't think that I'll be using the app.

      They should release a version of the Blackboard with built in Bluetooth that syncs to your phone for recording. Maybe also a version that allows you to save your screen image and go back to it later. It would be heavier and more expensive, but it would be awesome and more useful.

    It seems like Kent Displays is incrementally developing ... Because in 2024 there IS an Android App. It even is supposed to have integration with Drop Box, Google Drive and OneNote. While I am still waiting for my device to arrive (and your videos are still RELEVANT in 2024, 6 years later)... Maybe you could make an UPDATE to this review/pros/cons video with everything that has changed in the last few years. BTW love the videos, I've watches this one and the Calibration one ... Both super helpful. I bought the Note size version which seems to be selling like hot-cakes. It is half the size and I want to use it to replace Notebooks using a pen. Firstly now I can ERASE and secondly I don't run out of pages in a book anymore more! LOL Kudos and thanks for making these videos!

    • @gadgetstop321
      @gadgetstop321  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You're welcome! I sold my Letter sized Blackboard and, like you, am now using the Note size. In my case, the Note sized device erases better and it feels more durable since I feel like it has a better surface area to thickness ratio. The smaller size also makes it more convenient to have with me when I need it. I have some folders on the app with a few documents in each, but I usually use my Blackboard for "throwaway" notes. The app allows you to export documents to the cloud storage apps that you mentioned, but the process is not reversible, meaning you can't use another app to backup and restore documents to the Blackboard app.

    Yes, not having enough space to store all the templates was poorly planned. There is a way to hang it up..at the bottom center there is a small hole that feeds into a hole on the back bottom, you could put a string through. There is also an Android app. which I downloaded but not used yet. I am new to Boogie Board and learning! Thanks for Video

    • @gadgetstop321
      @gadgetstop321  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I never noticed the hole on the bottom of the frame. I guess it's intended to connect the pen to the Boogie Board with a lanyard. But you're right, I could run a string through it and hang it on the wall. Thanks for the heads-up!

    If I'm using it to take notes during an interview and I need a second page, is there a way to electronically save the page quickly and keep going, or would I need to get out my phone, open the app, take a photo, press the erase screen button and then keep going? Thanks

  • @Floating-seal
    @Floating-seal 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Would it be possible to create your own templates? I was thinking about getting one of these for waiting tables. I need to find out if its possible to store these notes on the phone so I can have easy and quick access to previous notes. I was thinking about creating an app where you have an 'infinite canvas". You'll be able to write down notes, organize, and use a smart search tool that learns your handwriting the more you use it. Therefore if there's a specific keyword you are searching for, it scans all notes for the closest match. This app would compatible with an iPhone device such as an iPad mini and/or iPhone. But for those who don't have an apple device, you can also buy a board similar to the boogie board where you can still write notes and could transfer the notes to any computer via cable. Might just get the boogie board for now and see how the works out.

    • @gadgetstop321
      @gadgetstop321  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This version of the Boogie Board does not sync with a phone but you can scan the board after you write on it. Making a template is simple - just print whatever you like on a sheet of paper and slide it in the back of the Boogie Board.

      Mohammed Mohammed I tried the Android app when it first came out and it was not very useful to me. When I am writing a full page of information, as I get to the bottom of the board, I do see little dots caused by my palm resting on the board. I just try to be more aware of this and be more gentle when resting my hand on the board.

    PSA: Good luck replacing the battery on this thing once it goes out 😊

      Replacing the battery on this larger model is easy enough. There's a battery cover on the back that you can remove with a coin and replace the disc battery. However, I'm currently using the smaller model (Note size). I just checked and you're right, there's no way to access the battery. 😕

    not.nitpicking. it makes no sense to not fit in a template that can be pulled out wherever you're using it.

      That's something they need to address in version 2. It seems like it could be accomplished with some minor adjustments.
