Why is it that I find so often that producers of their own product don't go through their product use as thorough as the people who buy them? This was a very good tutorial on demonstrating the calibration process and even showing us that there are 12 levels to try. Thank you so much!

I guess by the time you design and manufacture a product, you lose sight of the fact that it's operation is not intuitive to a first time user. Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad I could help.

If you use exact erase multiple times, does the screen continue to get dimmer and dimmer each time?
If so, roughly how many times can you use exact erase on one drawing before it becomes annoyingly dim, or unusable?
    Thanks :)

  • @sharonmeyer2581

I just got the BlackBoard and when I pressed the exact erase button straight out of the box and after attempting the calibration (done correctly), the writing dims to nearly nothing and stays that way, until I clear the display and start writing again. The Calibration does not improve this.
    Is this the battery?

Thank you for the nice review. You covered more than any other review videos. Though, I need to ask this before buying it.
1)Can you write something without the pen included? such as your finger
2)How precise is erase function? can you erase it without the eraser on pen? such as pen tip itself?
3)As you manage the eraser level, do I have to level it every time? or does it just stays in 12 if I set it to 12 until I re-level?
I hope you can help this questions.

    • @gadgetstop321

The screen behaviour strongly resembles an analogue storage oscilloscope CRT.
The Boogie Board tablet is likely completely analogue and only functions by static electricity (like the old Xerox photocopier) to move molecules around by touch and push them back by a voltage applied to the entire screen (i.e. no pixels inside). Hence no wonder that it has absolutely no connectivity.
What a crap invention is that?! If released in late 1970th to early 90th, this for sure would have been an instant success. But then PDA came out, and nowadays in an age of colourful tablet PCs and pen operated e-book readers with low-power passive eInk display (having much better contrast) this is absolutely pointless! The fact that this "LCD tablet" is brand new feels like a moonpriced joke item like those full size 61 key toy keyboards with only a monophonic beeping Stylophone transistor circuit inside, or Canomatic fake SLR cameras or pocket radio electronics camouflaged as a big empty plastic hifi set that could be won as a fairground tombola prize at a lottery booth.
The only imaginable legit reason of its existence is EMF radiation avoidance and extreme data security (*because* it contains no digital memory (like the Polaroid camera or mechanical typewriter) and can be erased with one button press), but a chalkboard can doo this too (although a little dustier, which may be unsafe in cleanroom-like environments). And the suggestion of using a purpose-made smartphone app to photograph the writing completely voids both purposes!
I bought the cheapest unbranded version of this device (no pen erase mode) to note todays tasks on a wall, but the dim screen is hard to read and the concept sucks more than that of digital picture frames.
