I just wanted to say that I think the blackboard is pretty cool for what it is. We have one in our office and I find myself using it often instead of grabbing for the post-it or notepad. I haven't tried to put a page underneath since I don't have a use for that but can imagine the amount of paper that could be saved for people practicing math!
I agree. There's value in the enjoyment you get from a product. My daughter is a sophomore in high school, and when she needs to study for math or chemistry, she uses the Blackboard. It's very satisfying to write on.
I just bought this and am figuring it out add I go. I'm a teacher and think it'll be useful to carry around and I love that I can keep my daily notes on it, then erase at the end of the day. I like the eraser function too, although my calibration doesn't seem to be quite right yet. Thanks for your videos!
You're welcome! I'm a math teacher and I really enjoy writing on this device. I agree, it is great for daily notes, and I also enjoy using it for brainstorming.
I suspected that the template sheets were A4 size instead of letter. However, A4 is 8.3 x 11.7 inches -- barely narrower, but a little longer than letter -- so it's not quite A4, either -- you have less excess width than I'd expect, but no leftover space for the 0.7 inches of additional length. I've been thinking that white toner on acetate (with a millimeter or two trimmed off the long edge) might make useful overlays for the dot-coded template that comes with the Carbon Copy digital pen made for the Blackboard family of LCD tablets. Not sure where you might find white toner for a copier or laser printer, though...
Thank you for the video. I have a question: can you export your writing on the boogie board with your template as a background? or when you try to use their app to export, the background is blank?
The Boogie Board Blackboard is not a connected device. The app is just a scanner that allows you to take a picture of the screen, so whatever background is visible when you take the picture, it would show up.
If you're making your own templates. Why not use photoshop or paint and use a black background. It would use up a lot of ink but should work. Also if you go to kinkos it might be cheaper and they may have the ability to print on a plastic sheet (transparency) or on poster material and then you can cut to size.

I have one of these, so useful for me to practice writing another language!!

You can not, however you can take a picture. Checkout their website, they are coming up with Carbon copy that one syncs automatically

That's a good idea Andrew. Thanks for the suggestions!
Make a black template.
That's a good idea, but printing one would take lots of ink. I'll have to think of an efficient way to do that.
@@gadgetstop321 black construction paper and white marker 👍
what templates are you trying to make? just curious
