The tent hide also takes away your ability to relocate without telling the world you're moving in. The lighter options make your relocating possibilities quicker and more frequent if need be. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the overview. I have camo clothes, a bag, and a homemade panel affair that uses camo burlap. Right now it is simply too uncomfortable to use them because it is so terribly hot (continental climate so it gets close to 100F daily). Once Fall hits, I want to set up a few of the panel blinds. I think they offer a good ability to leave your hide in the field and to build up and tear down quickly. They are quite cheap since you make the frames (PVC pipe or sticks), buy camo burlap from Amazon and can leave it all disassembled but in place. Carry in a folding chair or cobble together one from available materials. The bird hide structures at our parks (they look similar to yours) are not as good as I would like. I've not had luck using them. However, using military procedure, setting up the blind a short ways away actually keeps you better hidden and you can use the structure for a break and coffee/tea.

Had my concerns about purchasing a hide.
It will make you a lot less mobile and block some of your visibility.
But let's face it, you don't see many birds when you are hiking around anyway, you're much better of choosing a hotspot and "dig a hole".
Since I bought a little hide it's been paying of each time I've chosen to bring it along, even had birds landing on the hide.
Use some time locating the good birding spots and it's a winner.

good video, im thinking of going the cheap route and using camo netting over a frame using branches and leaving it on site

      Thanks,
I reckon that's probably the best place to start.
Something like that is usually stronger in the elements too!
      :)

Good point about nature reserves, many having built hides.

Enjoyed the review. Had only recently considered a hide/blind. You helped confirm some of my own thoughts on the subject.

The wearable camo might work better with something to cover the face and possible blonde hair. Nicely done. Thanks.

Great video thank you. I've been humming and aahhing whether to get one or not. I want to use it in the garden, so I'm actually leaning towards either a poncho or buying a camo net and throwing over myself and then sitting on a chair.

Hi Bev. It's definitely better to use a hide - it's ultimately more comfortable and you can move around. I would look for the american designs - you can usually pick them up on ebay.

+Iain Challis Photography You've made me quite interested in getting one to go over my mobility scooter, I know it sounds daft and I can't go far off very well beaten tracks but I'm thinking very early morning in summer when the wildlife is used to not having humans around.

I found something similar in "A1 Decoy". Its name is SELLER REFURBISHED 1 Man Hide Tent. However, it may not have small ventilated windows.

I have found that a bag hide can allow me to 'hide in plain sight' almost. They can be restricting when draped over me, my chair and tripod/camera set up however, the 'hide' tends to drag the camera if too loose on the tripod and if the user moves at all.

A good video although I disagree about hides that are on reserves. They are not built with photographers in mind at all and the vast majority have the Sun in really poor positions. They are great for spotters with binoculars or scopes but not for a snapper.

    Hello
What are your thoughts on viewing Wolves, from a blind?
is that a good idea or possible?
    Thanks!

The camo klothes leaves the hands and head uncovered. Those are attention grabbers.
