I’m leasing a Fusion Hybrid right now for $115/month. I’m a student with a part time job so that’s the perfect price. If they had a better lease special this would’ve been my 2nd choice because of the funky style and the beautiful orange. Kind of glad I didn’t get it, kind of wish I did though 😋
Unfortunately, this what the market wants, a $20,000 SUV that is useful (enough despite it's engine, to convince someone who doesn't shop around much), comfortable, and has all the tech features that matter to them (Carplay and Auto, AEB, touch screen). Consumers just don't know that this Japanese car has a French designed transmission and electronics, made in China, assembled in Mexico. The truly sad part is that my 2015 Sentra (compact sedan) has a bigger and more powerful standard engine than that SUV.
I grew up with econoboxes in the 80s and 90s that took more than 13 seconds to get to 60, so I lol at people who think this car is slow. It's just as fast as my old 1991 Nissan Maxima, even if it doesn't sound as good.
The base model Kick looks like the Miriam Webster Dictionary definition of fleet vehicle. The higher end trims look cool though. Still rather generic compared to say CH-R or HRV but nice for a Nissan.
RJ Money with 125hp, and the curb weight of a small pickup truck, it can barely get out of its own way. Let alone deliver a pizza in town. Even a Kia Rio is a better choice than this turd.
True - in this segment (subcompact crossovers) the actual number would be in the 17 second range at the speed in the high 70s (MPH) at best. You’re not gonna race other small cars in the Kicks...
Well it is a better effort than the C-HR or HR-V, but about on par with the EcoSport and less interesting than the Kona. I personally don't care for these wee-CUV, but they seem to be popular so to each their own.
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a Mercedes, it’s a Mitsubishi, it’s a Volvo, cars all look the same these days is what I’m getting at. Oh, and Scotty Kilmer hates Nissan because Renault is involved.
I really wish MotorWeek would get into the long term consequences of buying cars such as this one. It's good for consumers but I understand diplomacy with the manufacturer's keeps them from telling the truth. Haha I'd imagine they'd never get a Chrysler again if they told even an ounce of what they are building. Anyway... This is a car full of French parts made in China, built in Mexico. Make no mistake, Nissan is NOT what they used to be. Recent Nissans tell the story over and over. Avoid at all costs.
CleanSC yeah the last good Nissan vehicles were from 08’-‘12 ( minus ‘07-‘08 altimas they were horrendous with their CVT’s ) after that the quality took a big hit in favor of more features in the cabin. The cars have less density to them they feel like plastic when you drive other than the New Maximas and Murano the rest of the mainstream line up is so so if not just passable imo
Awesome review, absolutely horrific piece of junk crossover. The Juke was a really funky and cool CUV with a peppy engine, this is boring and uninspired junk.
My God, what a waste of sheet metal. Another boring, mundane, run of the mill crossover. Standard with garbage touchscreen, cheap plastic everywhere, the worst transmission ever created, and a downright pathetic engine that couldnt get out of its own way. Even cars in 1982 were faster than this thing. And Motorweek has the proof! Back to the drawing board with you, renault.
You have no clue what the heck you are talking about. I had a late 90s Maxima and a mid 2000 Infiniti G. Design and technology have come a long ways. For being the lowest price CUV on the market, the Kicks is fricking amazing. Fit and finish is up there with my other Nissans. Drives nice, fuel efficient and safety features to the max. You are doing your kids a disservice by letting them drive cars without the most up to date safety features.
@@emeyer6963 LOL, I am in the business too. By your definition, everyone in the industry make shit nowadays. If you really think cars built 10 to 20 years ago are better built and safer than today, maybe those horse buggies built with old world craftsmanship is the way to go. Much less stuff to go wrong.
Why all the hate???? Not everyone can afford cars in the 30 to 50 grand range......at 22 Grand out the door, this KICKS is a fantastic buy !!!!
I just bought a Kicks SV. Love it! I bought it for the ride height, looks and features. Hoping I continue to love it for a while.
KICKS IS THE BEST!!! DONT PUT THIS GOOD CAR DOWN.
Juke is polarizing but unique. Kicks is ordinary looking. “Once it’s movin’, it’s impovin’”, he got rhyme.

Motorweek reviews are so optimistic in comparison to Consumer Reports or Doug DeMuro
Pumped up Nissan Kicks.
This car is good in the snow ??
i wish nissan would offer the Kicks with a manual transmission. I'd be all over it.

Price considered, this little thing is surprisingly good i thought

We are not in the 80s though.......

Title is missing an "s" in "Nissan"! But good review!
The review "kicks" ass!

The perfect pizza delivery vehicle.
RJ Money not really. It sure isnt getting there in 30 minutes or less.
@@LrulestheworldM8 Why not?

@@LrulestheworldM8 You make a big deal out of pizza delivery.
What about the 1/4 mile test?
Billy Sou apparently it couldn't make it?
1/4 mile in 3 days

Needs a bigger engine. A 2.5 would do nicely.

The price isnt bad at all
Should be free

Can't wait for Scotty Kilmer to say that the Nissan Kicks needs to be kicked where it hurts the most
Nis... “Nisan?”
Boy can you spell?
(Clears throat loudly) 2 S's in N-I-S-S-A-N, guys!!!!!
landyachtfan79 Don’t you feel smart
Nissan from Mexico. No thank you!

Man these things ride like shit
Same CVT junk different body. Junk!
What a joke come on Nissan
It needs AWD!!!!
It needs an engine and disc brakes at all four wheels first
Drum brakes on a 2019 car? Yeah I don't want to k ow what other corners Nissan cut on this. POS
Worst name ever.
Feel sorry for kids of this generation that have to drive this junk.I remember when Nissan made some quality products.
