    Jang I just wanna say you are, in my opinion, easily the best LEGO reviewer on TH-cam. No clickbait, no BS, no brand bootlicking. It's really relaxing just hearing someone give their thoughts on a product and praising it where it deserves and pointing out it's flaws without acting like it's the worst thing to have ever happened. Half the time I watch your reviews with zero intention of picking up a set, sometimes I'm swayed by something you point out, but in this case I'm glad I'm not interested in this set. It just looks very flat and somewhat generic, and that's not even bringing into account the price.
    As always, great review.

    Jang, your greatest skill is going as in depth as possible in your observations without ever being redundant. You are amazingly creative, and your passion for these plastic bricks is beautiful. I appreciate all that you do. Continue being you! Start doing knife reviews Again!

    I kinda like the idea of placing 177 tiles more or less mindlessly - sounds very meditative - Yoda would approve.

    If this was £55 I would have bought it straight away. I'd expect perfection at that price though, especially given the market it's aimed at, and I agree that the way the wing just sits on the water is lazy design work and lets the whole thing down. I like the hidden easter eggs around the back on this and the Trash Compactor sets but they make the Trench Run set look like even less value. I hope it goes on sale at some point because I'd really like to build it (and I need something to use some spare seagulls on).

      Id pay 40 Euros for it. Sadly this would be a discount we will probably never see. 55 Euros will be possible one day here in Germany, still too much.

    My main problem with r2 was that last time he looked way too clean in the other dagobah set from a few years ago, this really helps but he does indeed still need something on the legs to make it perfect

    • @pi172
      @pi172 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Step 1: Wait for rain
      Step 2: Throw the R2D2 into the mud in your backyard or in a nearby field
      Step 3: Place R2D2 in your diorama
      Step 4: Enjoy

      You can just use a white cheese slope piece with a hollow stud attached to a white smaller tooth piece with peg to create the 3rd leg it is an illegal connection so won't stay in (sometimes it does if you hold him for a few seconds) but if put on a flat service he looks way more accurate and is easily removable so isn't too much of a pain the solution I found.

  • @joevictor53

    I'm loving these diorama sets. I've been hoping Lego would do something like these for years. Mini display sets for adults showing off famous movie scenes. I hope they do more like for Jaws, ET, Indiana Jones, Toy Story, Back to the Future, Harry Potter, Ben-Hur, Lord of the Rings, Avengers, Superman, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.
    The pricing is the only problem I have with them. I feel like Lego is overpricing these because they want to separate them from sets and price them like display objects for adults. I want to buy these so we get more but I also don't want to support this pricing

    • @pi172
      @pi172 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, even if you dont use it as a single display but mod it into your city or whatever this will be much easier with these kind of sets

  • @coffeeinhandproductions3238
    @coffeeinhandproductions3238 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    Out of the three I think this about my favorite. I'd love for this to be $80, and not the Canadian retail of $110. What really surprises me though is the trash compactor set with less pieces costs more than this one. Must be the additional 3 minifigs bumping up the price. For a $130 though I think the TRex Breakout has the best value out of any of these modern diorama pieces. And though Yoda uses the bed to die in ROTJ I feel this scene is more representative of the training montage in ESB than anything.

    The swamp looks like toxic waste to me... I feel as though a different colour should have been used to capture it more accurately- maybe trans-black on top of brown plates?

    • @askmeaboutsugma
      @askmeaboutsugma 2 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I think they should’ve alternated between the trans-green and plain dark green to suggest actual foliage and algae floating on the surface.

    Lego really needs to rethink this "For adults" expensive sets strategy, I dont know who is this targeted to but for sure not for Lego fans. Generally in recent years they made classic sets like CITY more childish than ever before and everything else is suddenly "exclusive" "collector" "adult only".

    I agree Jang, while the Trench Run is amazing while being overpriced, this set here is too expensive and not that great. Trans green looks like cartoony toxic waste, the wing doesn't blend in nice enough and is way too small. For that price we could have gotten the hut together with the latest (complete) X-Wing, making for a great play set AND a nice display, reminding us of how great the movie was without forced and cringy quotes.

    Thanks for the detailed, honest review as always.
    It’s rather funny to compare this with 75208 Yoda’s hut from 2018 that took the completely opposite direction: usable interior space, some terrain and play features, at the expense of accuracy and scenery.
    The 2022 version is a really nice display piece, having seen it in person. 90€ nice, though?
    There’s a lot of detail and design work, indeed. But taken at face value, it’s a just a small vignette with zero interaction, much like the Death Star Trench that costs 60€. I just can’t justify to myself the extra 30€. At least the Trash Compactor has a very impressive, seamless transforming feature that could help justify the extra cost.

    For $20 more I’d rather get the Jurassic Park T Rex breakout

    Might be a nitpick but I'm not really a fan of those metallic "vents" on the side of the base. Would prefer it to be just all black, no "vents". Easy enough to mod out though.

    its an amazing set but the price is far too much for what’s there. the little problems like the x wing wing & r2s clean legs is disappointing especially for how expensive it is

    I guess I will get it for 64€ (~67$) and sell my old Yoda's hut playscale set.

    I managed to get it on sale and with a $10 discount on top of that so I ended up paying $85aud
