As a diorama / playset, I'm guessing we can choose between recreating the boarding the Tantive IV scene at the beginning of A New Hope (without lightsaber) or the boarding the Tantive IV scene at the end of Rogue One (with lightsaber)
I would like to see this done as a Diorama set it should have been saved for that could have gotten a higher budget which it needed and drawed out the hallway. If they continue to do these sets I'd want an "Escape from the Citadel" hallway scene, from The Clone Wars TV series.
That set is very similar to the Luke Skywalker against the Dark Troopers set, when he boards Moff Gideon's light cruiser to save the Mandalorian and co. But this Boarding the Tantive set is twice as expensive as Dark Trooper Attack!
LOL before I started the video I was chanting internally, "Don't say Wedge... Don't say Wedge..." I almost made it through. I hope there was anything else in the video that was of interest or value to you though!
Re: Vader's pose - another row of studs would have been ideal, but in the scene from the movie, I don't think he has the lightsaber out when the door is blown open.
Exactly, Vader just walks in and looks aroud with his hands on his hips, and his body language saying: "Well well well, what do we have here? A bunch of pesky rebels!"
The door is probably designed for stormtroopers to pass through like the opening of ANH. Vader being the first to pass through doesnt make sense in the context of ANH, and in Rogue One he was on the mon calamari flagship and never made it to the Tantive IV so that wouldnt make sense anyway
I really hope we get more diorama style sets that aren't officially dioramas. I'll be getting two and build one as an almost mirror version so I can have one long hallway
The only thing I think is wrong with the stormtroopers is you can't move their heads around, the oversized chin of the helmet prevents movement completely
Yeah that’s always been my problem with them, they look great but they’re just too big which makes it so you can’t turn their heads at all. The old stormtrooper helmets were the perfect size, they looked proportional and they were able to turn which made them better for both playing and posing
Right?!?! Is it a play set primarily marketed to kids with action features or is it a high end hermetically sealed static movie freeze frame display masterpiece? _Looks at box, looks at set_ 👀
4:50 I mean, he's not SUPPOSED to be holding his lightsaber in this scene. He's supposed to just be ominously walking down the hallway behind his troops.
Getting ripped off a little bit is (sometimes) more psychologically challenging to get over than getting ripped off a lot… Personally I’m waiting for a discount here; $40 US is the highest I will go - but I’m happy to see it on the market and the design and build seems pretty good overall too. Great review Jang!
One that feels too overpriced to me, which is unsurprising as I've been bleating that same response for practically all Star Wars sets since I first got into it. I feel people place too much value on the figures, they see the amount of included figures and immediately justify the price.
The panels that you’re thinking may be battle damaged are just black technical panels that are part of the ships design. You can see them on the hallway of the ship as it’s seen at the end of revenge of the sith when senator organa, and Captain Antilles are talking about deleting C-3PO‘s memory.
I mean can you blame the guy for having a “lazy lightsaber carry” considering his suit was made specifically to make it hard for him to keep his arms up
@@Gzilla313 true but they won't dare because it's not very family friendly and not too popular. That being said, I'm actually inspired now to try and make some Spaceball MOCs out of Star Wars sets that I got lol
Not sure why LEGO used a flat piece of cloth for the pauldrons, they did great on that one ARC trooper from 2012, still glad to have a Fives, hope we get Echo too, not Bad Batch Echo, but ARC trooper Echo
Another fantastic review, JANG! I've been following your channel since your 2011 HF reviews and wholeheartedly admire your real and genuine approach to LEGO content - very refreshing in this age of influencers and LEGO-sponsored content creators! I make sure to like every video you post! You raise some excellent points for Boarding the Tantive IV. I'm personally not a fan of the "combination" gimmick LEGO suggests here as buying this set just once is already no small investment. I hadn't really considered the asymmetrical paneling to be battle damage from the blasterfire and I see what you mean about the sticker sheet being a different color match. I do think there's broader potential for Star Wars 'hallway' sets though and am very happy to see location-based sets like this. Keep up the great work!
I love how the "blasted" door looks and that play feature is quite smooth. Honestly not super keen on the other action features of knocking the characters over. I sorta think this set is primed for modifying/customizing, and I am very confused about why/how one would connect a second set to this. Good review as always. I am starting to do an experiment where I mute the video where you say how much the set is, and during the review, I figure out what it might or should be priced at. My conclusion was $45, but with as many minifigs as it comes with, $50. So $5 more than that is not bad. I think it is the amount of minifigs that causes this to be a bit higher, but it's not a bad deal and clearly doubles as a play set and display set.
I personally think they should've given Fives dark grey legs. His kama is predominantly dark grey as is his lower leg armour, it would've done away with the awkwardness of the two patches of dark grey printing attempting to hint at the leg armour being a different colour as well as slightly mitigating the kama very obviously cutting off at the edge of the front of the leg problem. Not a difficult change at all and would've been infinitely better in my opinion. Though then you'd have to deal with white printing on the upper legs and waist so ehh. I personally think most of the kama problems could be resolved if lego would just use dual molded legs more often but for whatever reason they refuse to use them 1381 times out of the 1384 star wars minifigures that they've made.
After playing so much of the Lego Skywalker Saga game, I’ve got the grunts and moans of stormtroopers and Vader’s “seems to be… stuck” playing in my head 🤪
I think this set is pretty good, although Lego’s quality control has been going down dramatically. When I opened the box 2 of my stickers from the sticker sheet were straight up just missing, no where to be found. Doesn’t bother me that much, but that’s a huge issue that lego needs to fix
I saw this in-store the other day and maybe im just too old for certain Lego sets now or nostalgia doesn't work on me but I can't really imagine wanting *this*......for $50. Like it's just a lower quality Diorama set of a hallway with a Clone Wars character tempting you into it, I see nothing tempting about this set at all.
Love the set. I can't say i mind any of the little issues it has. I got mine from work on release with overall 36% off but regret not getting a second before we sold out. But I'll keep shopping around for a bargain just to mirror/expand the diorama.
For those who like the print on Echo but mourn the lack of Kama, Clone Army Customs has Kamas for like 1$. I bought some for my 501st elite trooper packs and they drastically improve the look of the officers. Also they’re good for getting stuff like stormtrooper rank pauldrons so your stormtroopers can have sergeants.
50 dollars used to get you a batmobile, a orange and purple truck, and a bank. i believe the set was called two face chase. now for 5 dollars extra you get a hallway. lol
I definitely think $40 would have been much better, that way you could at least buy 2 of them for $80 instead of $100. Lego must not have realized that so many people bought multiples of the Dark Trooper hallway set to make a longer hallway because of how affordable it was. Not as many people are going to buy multiples of this one because of the price which means Lego will probably make less money overall with this set than they did with the cheaper one.
wanted this set as soon as i saw Fives. I thought about it for months and finally bought it. Well worth it, maybe slightly pricy. that being said I would happily paid an extra £30 for a slightly larger build, maybe some more figures and a slightly longer corridor... still a cool set and a great review! :)
I dont like how inaccurate the 5 Minifigure helmet is, the print is supposed to be different, they butchered it. I m so tired of lego shargigm premium prices wihtout always delivering
You have provided value as always, but im not sure about this set. Basically I want just the figures because I don't own a vader, rebels, or fives. Sadly this usually seems to end up being just as expensive as buying the set...but i done want the set aaaaaah!
I thought that the floor feature was dumb so I removed it and made the set into an actual hallway, bought 2 of these sets and combined them into a nice hallways, thinking on getting more pieces from pick a brick and making it a longer hallway more accurate to the tantive IV
Its a little sad that Lego made an ARC Trooper helmet mold back in 2012 and then only used it on one figure. I understand that the old mold doesn't quite match the style of the new helmets and that they may not even have it 12 years later, but if they had made a fives figure sooner we could have had that helmet for him
Personally I dont think this set offers significantly more value than the Dark Trooper attack set. The additional figs add some, but it is ultimately just a slice of a hallway. $40 would have been a more reasonable price even if they had to axe a trooper from either side
To be fair in the original scene vader never uses his lightsaber
As a diorama / playset, I'm guessing we can choose between recreating the boarding the Tantive IV scene at the beginning of A New Hope (without lightsaber) or the boarding the Tantive IV scene at the end of Rogue One (with lightsaber)
Once you see the Family guy look to the troopers you can't unsee it.
It’s wild that Lego just won’t use dual-molded legs for clone kamas
I would like to see this done as a Diorama set it should have been saved for that could have gotten a higher budget which it needed and drawed out the hallway.

That set is very similar to the Luke Skywalker against the Dark Troopers set, when he boards Moff Gideon's light cruiser to save the Mandalorian and co. But this Boarding the Tantive set is twice as expensive as Dark Trooper Attack!
And has less rare minifigs and a bit bland on the design. Honestly don't see much of appeal in it
170 pieces vs 500 and more minifigs
$90 Australian for this. LOL
10:32 Not Wedge Antilles but Captain Raymus Antilles. :-)
LOL before I started the video I was chanting internally, "Don't say Wedge... Don't say Wedge..." I almost made it through. I hope there was anything else in the video that was of interest or value to you though!

Lots of folks nitpicking your lightsaber point - I’d be willing to bet kids will be excited to give Vader a combat scene with a lightsaber!
Right?!?! Is it a play set primarily marketed to kids with action features or is it a high end hermetically sealed static movie freeze frame display masterpiece? _Looks at box, looks at set_ 👀
@@JANGsLEGOreviews agreed! I’d argue the set’s greatest strength is that it can ALSO be the Rogue One Vader hallway scene!
4:50 I mean, he's not SUPPOSED to be holding his lightsaber in this scene. He's supposed to just be ominously walking down the hallway behind his troops.
unless youre emulating the scene from rogue one

Vader's awkward pose and placement is some Spaceballs level of comedy.
But seriously, they couldn't just add another row of studs?
It would be awesome if they did a Spaceballs Ideas set so you could place the figures in the Star Wars sets to recreate scenes from the film lol
@@Gzilla313 true but they won't dare because it's not very family friendly and not too popular. That being said, I'm actually inspired now to try and make some Spaceball MOCs out of Star Wars sets that I got lol
Sure they could but the profit would be less, or the price even higher.
For real, a few more studs and all good
Nah if they did that they would have hiked the price up another $10
What if you put the cloth under the backpack?
I really don’t like the storm troopers helmets looks like family guy Star Wars episode
I bought two of these, and built the second one mirrored to make one continuous hallway. Man I love employee discounts
I like when you show the box relative to the set in the beginning. Great review.
Not sure why LEGO used a flat piece of cloth for the pauldrons, they did great on that one ARC trooper from 2012, still glad to have a Fives, hope we get Echo too, not Bad Batch Echo, but ARC trooper Echo

I like that Jang calls them Rebel Friends lol!
Why couldn’t they have taken out 1 piece so it could be 501st
£35 max
You've gotta love the Rebel seemingly being Force-yeeted through the hatch, as if Vader did that off camera in the movie. 😀
>4 same stickers for same pieces
>Not printed
Ehhh
The way to multiply this set it to build the second one mirrored.
That cauldron doesn't work. From the top view the figure reminds me of the dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park.

The set looks super nice once built, and the options are awesome.
Getting Fives is just a bonus.
i think the awkwardness of where you have to place vader is fine. he's not got his lightsaber in hand in that scene anyway
The Rebel Troopers look disappointing without dual molded legs for their boots
Is the Darth Vader's minifigure's lightsaber hilt metallic silver or light bluish gray?
I think this set is pretty good, although Lego’s quality control has been going down dramatically. When I opened the box 2 of my stickers from the sticker sheet were straight up just missing, no where to be found. Doesn’t bother me that much, but that’s a huge issue that lego needs to fix

The box art is fantastic.
I still call those Stormtrooper helmets the Blue Harvest helmets 😅

I’m praying this shows up at my sams club. I catch so many gem sets at half price, and there ain’t any way I’m paying over 40 for this.
LEGO should stick with cloth camas but turn pauldrons into plastic pieces. That would make these sort of character way better.
I'm just happy to get new rebel troopers, I'm a sucker for their design.
Great concept, very bad design choices. The fact its not modular makes it less desirable.
Vader didn't have his lightsaber drawn/on in this scene
I wish it was diorama style like the trash compactor, it would’ve been awesome
The cloth kamas need to come back, they just worked, and looked genuinely good on figures
Just built it yesterday. It’s really good.
Those cloth pauldrons are waaay too flat lol
$55 is insane. This is why I don’t buy LEGO anymore
What a hideous and meaningless cash grab. The dioramas are getting even worse
Nice battle pack
That silly shoulder paldron looks like Fives is doing Shakespeare. He'd probably fit better there, too.
it took 25 years to give us a official custom arc trooper fives
The matrix with Darth Vader - that would be an awesome movie
who else watching after just ordering it lol
55 DOLLARS??? This is like a battlepack + a larger build...
6 figures is not a battlepack my guy, don't exaggerate. Plus, there must be easily 4 times the pieces compared to the average battle pack
It’s all sold out for 2 months where I am
I have to get this to put next to my luke hallway
Why is there a clone in an OT set?
Wow it‘s ugly
50 dollars used to get you a batmobile, a orange and purple truck, and a bank. i believe the set was called two face chase. now for 5 dollars extra you get a hallway. lol

Love it when JANG has fun and enjoys himself reviewing a LEGO set. Price seems a little high after seeing it in the video but I’ll pick it up for sure

I’m definitely gonna replace the Storm Trooper helmets with Clone Army Custom helmets.
You have provided value as always, but im not sure about this set. Basically I want just the figures because I don't own a vader, rebels, or fives. Sadly this usually seems to end up being just as expensive as buying the set...but i done want the set aaaaaah!
I wonder how two will look stacked on top of the other...space saver and will have two levels
My only real issue with fives is the lack of cloth/dual molded skirt armour. The tiny printing just isnt good enough
Too expensive

I've been waiting for a LEGO Fives mini all my life. He is perfect, I would buy this set just for him tbh
Yeah, it's a play set. But as a OT Star Wars nerd, this is a low end release. Stickers, Minifigs, and finish are not that great for this price.
really wish they did the correct vader torso for this scene especially when it already exists from a rebels set
35€max
We got one episode 4 Vader torso in a rebels set and Lego never went back…maybe one day they’ll bring back the cloth over the shoulders!
7 figures for 47€ and a sturdy nice looking build sounds very good to me. In Finland you can get this at that price.
I'd rotate those levers 90 degrees so they look like grebling and probably still function.
It's so awkward how there's a part of the wall that sticks out. Would it really be so budget stretching to make the floor line up with it?
Could always just buy a second set, and build it mirrored
I shan't lie, I only want this for Fives
Its a little sad that Lego made an ARC Trooper helmet mold back in 2012 and then only used it on one figure. Looks fine however no figures I need.
Love the new Antilles being nice and affordable!
“..start the process.” When referring to the scene is funny
Too expensive
Still can’t believe it took Lego so long to get this set out🥰
Thanks for another great review Jang 👍🏻
awesome set love the minifigs and trooper 5 looks amazing great review jang 👍
Battle damage on the panels????

Modify the set into the Profundity.
Fifty quid?!
