Not that those supercars have great difference over this Acura, just that I reckon the guy on the Integra is the only one there that actually knows the limits of his car.
that is very impressive, you can see where the teggy has severe under steer and the pilot still kept it under control... also he keep the rpms rev'ing even through the tighter corners. pilot definitely belongs in the advanced group. on events like this, exotics aren't pushed because if their value..I understand .. but that teggy was mashing on the straights... pilot stayed cool hand look the whole way... will check this channel for other bids of this teggy on the track
I love my EJ8. It's been an awesome platform for me. I bought it for $1000 USD from a kid that had no idea what he was doing. It had a JDM D15B VTEC block with a non-VTEC head and a JDM S8G Del Sol Si transmission. I put a D16Z6 VTEC head on it with a 63 trim turbo and on only 6 lbs it was an absolute beast on the drag strip revving to 9000 rpm between shifts. Today, it has a B18B1 non-VTEC (for torque and reliability) with an Integra GSR transmission and the same 63 trim turbo setup on 8 lbs and makes about 275 whp. I just bought a set of Bosch 650 cc injectors, an Omni-Power 3 bar MAP sensor, and a 15 psi spring for my 38mm external wastegate. I'm going for 350 whp and then it's suspension time. We have a local road racing track near here and I'm trying to make a nice, fast, clean car to take out there eventually. The issue with all of this and why it hasn't already been done is because I have a family (2 boys) and of course, they come first. It's really nice to have a goal though.
Glad to finally have a Honda back in the fleet. Now to make it a contender like your old DC2! Amazing what these are capable of with a swap and what they can even or exceed the odds with compared to other cars.
CanadaBud23 Only to a point. It's like those people who spend lots of money on driving lessons to get a license but fail their driving test several times. Some people just can't drive particularly well no matter how much they spend 😉
Integras are great fun and fast stock. I can chase down and pass many of the 1 and 2 series BMWs at the track. They have me on the long straights just due to power. A k-swapped car has to be a blast
I was even surprised this K20 Acura Integra was able to take down Corvettes, Mustangs, and Lancer Evolutions. Taking down Ferraris, Nissan 370s, and Porsche 911s is just icing on the cake.
It's balance of power and weight ratio..the most powerful cars are heavy so have to slow down on sharp curves where the lighter car can somewhat glide through it due to it not having all the weight to carry through the curves
Hondas like DC2/DB8, EK9, FD2, DC5, AP1/2 with proper engine and suspension tuning are more likely to win against the EURO cars etc on the circuit but of course on straightways with their V6/8/10 engines and turbos obviously Hondas are no match not unless if we supercharged or turboed it
well said and indeed u are right. but sadly today’s the honda type-R legendary brand name was “destroyed” by US/UK from their 🤦🏻♂️ FK2 and FK8 🤮 by turbo charging it and removing high rev engine
That harness buckle or whatever was flapping was roughly the same tone and timber as the intro to YYZ. At one point the tapping was really close, musically (1:34). Cool....
Awesome driving Petey! Subscribed from the very entertaining 'ASS'2000 to now 'BADASS'2000. You guys rock! Glad I found your guys' channel. Really great work from fellow DIY auto enthusiasts. I look forward to obtaining the high level driving skills both you and Dave have. Wish you all tons of success (including Ken as a fellow Asian persuasion). Keep up the great work guys!
This is one of the only racetracks in socal. It's pretty standard for casual drivers to take their daily drivers out here for some fun but not want to break anything.
Took my integra to the track first time and it’s boosted. I was slow on the track because I was to scared to really push it haha. Gotta get rid of that fear of taking turns fast haha
Nice to see a 4banger pass up those other cars. It really was the driver that made a big difference. Other drivers weren't hit the Apex that they should
Hey, nice driving! Just to confirm, at 3:54, when you started to counter steer the oversteer and rev-match, did you let off the throttle completely, and also apply the brakes?
I'm used to Hondas sounding Hamster powered. Even some K20 and K24. This car though sounds great from the inside. A real racy note when in Vtec. Almost motorcycle like.
+Speed Academy Nice build. How much was the total build to get it this competitive? Also what is the extensive part list? It seems that you only listed the major parts. I see no coil type, brake type, etc. It would be nice to know.
Speed Academy hey that's awesome! I like the simple setups! I just did a bunch of work on mine. Eibach springs dampers and sway bars front and rear. Still waiting to get the rear sway bar done. It is in a civic. A little different but still handles so much better. Good job driving man!
If you want the Civic to rotate and power out of the corners, I suggest a stock front sway bar with a stiffer Eibach in the rear. It helps tremendously.
@@speedacademy the sway bars helped huge. Car is completely different. I've taken it to the local track in Edmonton called castrol race way. The cars handling is very neutral and very predictable. I just need to get a good tire and rim setup. And sometime this year I will be swapping in the k24a2. Very excited. I still love this video.
I like how the Ferrari cuts your line....what was he going to gain on this open lapping day by doing that? Moron.... Nice driving. You take a nice line through that course.
The Integra driver also shouldn't have been there, without getting waved by, from the Ferrari driver. They all made some mistakes, including the Integra driver.
Great Info for guys who aren't mechanics, Question: i've recently put a Neo VVL sr20 into a nissan B13 sentra but the brain box is not charging the fuel pump, may run a relay to the starter will this work? As you stated made an upgrade to P11 front rotors and calipers ,can't get any rear rotors in the Caribbean
Dandadda22 You can build a very simple relay setup that can be operated on a separate switch but you'll have to turn it on and off every time you turn the car off and on. Why not source another ECU?
I'm thinking about taking my bone stock 2001 Vette to Streets in a few weeks. I used to do a lot of canyon driving when I was younger, but now that I sim race, I'm not as eager to abuse my car. Curious about the passing zones, aren't you supposed to restrict your passing to these two zones? What I saw was the driver trying to pass all over the track. I'm a little concerned about the bad driving I saw from other drivers. I used to win some things every now and then so I'm not trying to prove anything, but just have a little fun.
+John G. Hill It all depends on your run group. I was in the advanced group meaning there is opening passing everywhere since all drivers are supposed to be experienced which isn't always the case, as you saw. +Speed Academy Thanks for getting back to me. The impetus for me thinking about this is the new SCCA program for track days in the middle of the week. September 18th at Willow. They didn't say it would be Streets of Willow, but they showed the map and it looked like Streets to me. I have no concern with crashing on my part, just worried about some drivers. They have special follow alongs, and then they let people out later in three 20 minute sessions. About $115.00 bucks, so you can't beat it. I think the passing will be in special zones. I figured you must have been in the advanced session to be able to do that.
+John G. Hill There's always a risk but as long as you keep a good distance and only pass in straight zones you'll be fine. Sounds like you're set then! Streets is a great technical track. I'm sure you'll be hooked once you get out there and see how much fun it really is!
I'm a Honda guy myself and absolutely love what this GSR is doing but... at the end of the day the only reason that you passed those vehicles was due to the higher skill you posses as a driver.
DoctaMarcos It's hard to say which handles as the two cars do what they do in different ways. As far as the suspension goes the BRZ has a more complicated multi-link suspension setup but I don't think it really has anything that makes it a better setup as the s2ks suspension can still be considered modern, and the s2000 suspension actually has more adjustability than the BRZs. Handling-wise, both cars have great balance. The s2k though is a more oversteer prone knife edge kind of car with (comparing it at the brz with decent tires) either way it wouldn't be worth the hassle to swap that engine into a car that was designed for a boxer engine, it would take far too much fab work, money and time. You'd be better off building the 4U or boosting it.
DoctaMarcos The BRZ actually has a bit more stable suspension setup than the S2K does prior CR years. AP1 being the most twitchy put a demand on Honda to readjust the suspension due to a high report of crashes. The FRS is similar to the s2000 being tail happy. Both cars are even in terms of suspension, both are great cars nonetheless. The only thing the S2K has over the 86 is power. They both have the same weight and very similar suspension setup (none are better than each other).
I've seen enough hot version to know a civic is probably easier to drive fast than a fast car fast. lol. Also crashing the ferrari and the GT3RS will be quite a bit compared to the civic. I do however understand that giving way to someone is key on a track, no matter what they drive.
+frankth3frizz That's why I sold my bmw m5, becouse hit rear m5 bumper cost more then my civic. And selling my M3 also. Now daily drive my k24/k20, 35mpg, 11-sec 1/4mi, reliable more fun 2000 civic.lol
+rocketsneakers Gotta be the teggy. I owned and absolutely loved my AP2 s200 but the one thing that kills it is EPS. This video proves two things yet again : 1) Hondas in all shapes and forms are the best reliable bang for your buck 2) supercar owners are 90% all-show-no-go Nice driving btw ^^
Looks like fun. The Ferrari and Porsche probably let you pass because they didn’t want to take any risk with hitting a cars considering the value of a GT3.
The guy in the ferrari tried not to let you pass and then he lost traction a few seconds after I was laughing haha he's probably mad that he got beat by a cheap fwd Japanese car even though it is modded
This is one of the reasons I like the streets of willow springs, big horse power is somewhat neutralized by all the turns.
+DiscoR53 Its definitely one of the more technical tracks and a ton of fun!
is it just me or was the guy driving the ferrari a lil butt hurt because he was about to be passed my a teggy and just cut you off in the corner
