- From his early high school days Phil had always been a big fan of the Acura Integra. The natural progression of his car life would to achieve the epitome of the Integra family - the Type R. His 1997 Integra Type R would eventually become his own starting from basic modifications to the JDM front end. Over time this car would endure the same rough roads together but Phil knew that in the end, they were all going to be OK - this is his Car Life story.

very inspirational. I miss my cheap Honda CRX. It was fun to work on, fun to drive, there were alot of ups, and a lot of downs, but nothing ever stopped me from loving the car. it's something thats gonna be a part of my life forever....even if i dont own one. One day though, ill have the extra cash for another one.

Yes, make your dreams come true. 10 years after my last Honda and a few disappointing cars later I spent money on a DC5R. I am completly satisfied again

I bought my Type R 2001 brand new. I remember couldn't sleep that night awaiting to get to the Acura dealership! I still own it. I keep it in pretty good shape. I was offered $15000 and just can't let go. I enjoy driving it way more than any car I owned.

Man I think Ive seen your car on an official Revscene meet sometime, or just at Richmond Center this year, cant really remember but I do remember looking at your Type R and going "wow" on it. It makes me miss my first car, 96 Integra LS. And I share my sentiment when it comes to oem parts, especially if it has to go under the hood. Great job on your Type R. Still faster than my 08 TSX. Haha

i always wanted a ITR but i thought about it, what would i do if i had a type r? i would replace the seat, rims, engine, front end etc so with that being said i opted for a regular integra gs with sunroof, got me some recaro seats, volks wheels, jdm front, k20 yeh I'm pretty satisfied with it for not being a real ITR, i honestly think i save more money buying a regular integra then buying a real ITR just to replace the parts i did.

Let's see...I'll go like this. Great vid, great car, very chill and cool enthusiast. What I will point out though, is that if your mod life started by buying a 30.00 cai on craigslist, that essentially defines that you're a "gen2" enthusiast. I say gen 2 as in, post movie, post internet forum Honda enthusiast. Nothing about you is "OG". I started building Honda's in the 90's and there was no craigslist, no used intakes...intakes were 200.00+ and truly early stuff was simply modded domestic parts. Parts from 2004-2005 aren't OG by any means. I mean absolutely NO disrespect to the owner here, I just realize that some people think they are OG when they aren't. I had my first Honda build underway in 1996, had my first swapped Honda on a modded Camaro NOS system in 1999 (CRX with Y8 and a modded Holley NOS kit). All I know is, if you started building Honda's post 2001 (movie release, honda-tech.com founding, multiple mag launches that are now gone) then "OG" really shouldn't be in your vocabulary. That said...I mean no hate at all...just merely stating the facts.

I'm sooo fascinated with jdm itr and ctr's. They are sooo pure. soo dam sexy and fast. I want a genuine itr very soon. I'm building a 93 delsol and I have JDM DC2 Red Recaros, JDM B18C its swap and I have alot of mods on this. I am in love with honda's championship white so much I want it on my delsol. I actually love your lip kit ive never seen that rear lip before. and I hate wings but I absolutely love the mugen one that you have one. super clean car!
