Have a P1S with AMS and really like it. Good quality, fast, and very few issues. Added a bento box HEPA and activated carbon filter tied into a smart outlet and controlled by home assistant. Turns on and off automatically with the printer.
Love my Plus4! It handles all the crazy materials I've thrown at it. Also works well for 85A TPU if you feed into a small Teflon tube on top of the extruder rather than through the full Bowden.
@@802OutdoorAdventures Oh hey another Vermonter! Flexible materials can just be super fun and useful so I figured I'd mention it. 95A TPU is usually fine through the full reverse Bowden I believe.
@802Garage yeah buddy! Born here, stayed here. I've been printing for only 6 months or so but it's been so much fun and it's time to branch out into the rest of the filament world.
I’ve got this small farm thing going on, and most of what I get are small single-color PLA prints. To be honest, I’ve been using the S1 Pro like crazy for this - it cranks out prints super fast, and for single-color prints, it’s definitely my go-to.
Awesome vid! Comparing the pros and cons of these printers really helped me understand their performance and unique features better. I’m always keen on trying out new printers. Right now, I’ve got a K1, but the S1 Pro has been on my wishlist for a while. Super glad to see ASA still prints well even after tweaks, and I’m super excited about multi-material printing!
Any thoughts on todays update announcement from Bambu? I know some people say “well it doesn’t affect me” but they’re shortsighted and don’t see the future implications. I have a Bambu, so I’m not bashing them without reason,
They're definitely a great printer! Their Firmware and Ecosystem needs improvement though as they seem to be locking it down and getting more closed source as time goes on, especially with the coming update locking you out of using any other slicer than Bambu Studio is a big inconvenience for myself and many others and their solution to the problem, to add 3 extra steps to do the same function with yet another Bambu proprietary app instead of just hitting "Print"... yeah not for me. Hopefully they allow the integration of Orca and other 3rd party slicers soon so those of us who are Orca users can continue to have a seamless experience.
For me, the Bambu a1 combo will be my first "work" printer (I've got 4 old printers already) I'll make do with a very modified enclosed Anycubic unit for high temp printing for now. However, I'm hoping the upcoming Bambu printer will be a helmet-sized enclosed printer that can handle most filaments. If not I might need to get that Flashforge or something else more robust than my old toy. Cheers!
Just a heads up, bambu lab just announced today that they're pretty much saying no more to 3rd party slicers like orcaslicer. Bambu is making the walls on their walled garden printer even higher. You wont be able to use orcaslicer, or any 3rd party slicer with your bambu printer without first downloading a spyware plugin that forcibly sends your data to the bambu cloud, even when on LAN. Many are already saying they're not buying bambu anymore and are switching brands, mostly to prusa. Bambu is already toying with the idea of a subscription based print farm software, so be prepared for that to leak into normal everyday printing with bambu lab.
The upcoming update locking you out of using any other slicer than Bambu Studio is a big inconvenience for myself and many others and their solution to the problem, to add 3 extra steps to do the same function with yet another Bambu proprietary app instead of just hitting "Print"... yeah not for me. Hopefully they allow the integration of Orca and other 3rd party slicers soon so those of us who are Orca users can continue to have a seamless experience. With that said, I don't think it will make much of a difference for people with 1, or a couple printers, unless you primarily use Orcaslicer, but there will be that workaround. Personally, i'm going to hold off on the update to see what everyone else's thoughts are, or maybe update one of my A1 Minis to test it out, but I'm also not opposed to the Bambu Farm Software as I think it will help those of us with more than 2 or 3 machines to run things more efficiently.
That limits you to very few options! The Eryone Thinker X400 is coming and might suit your needs. I'm hoping the Qidi Max4 or whatever it is called will be quite large too.
Wow! What machine are you using now that gives you a build volume that large? Aside from the Giga from Elegoo, there isn't a consumer 3D Printer available that prints that large to my knowledge.
Good comparison, it really needs to be emphasized how bambu prioritized workflow and reliability. That's the main reason I stick with them. I only have A1 printers right now, but will definitely be looking into their new flagship once that's revealed. Sometime in the near future I'd like to get a printer for those higher temp materials and even though the qidi plus 4 seems really nice, it's still not a bambu. Of those you showed today, if I was in the market, I'd spend the extra $100 and get the P1S. The enclosure, fan and filter are worth the modest bump in price. Thanks for posting!
I tell you I have a k1 Max that is the absolute worst printer I’ve ever had. Two Bambu printers that essentially just work although I figure a 10% failure rate. And a Qidi Q1 Pro that has yet to fail one time.

If you use Orca Slicer, don't update to the latest firmware unless you want to save your print files, upload them to another app called Bambu Connect to have that send to your printer. They claim its for security purposes, but the update affects those of us using LAN only mode, which doesn't go outside of our networks (supposedly) and sends through the local network as LAN would imply. But the update means you need to use Bambu Studio to slice and send your files to the Bambu Lab machines going forward, or wait for Orca to be allowed as an approved slicer. They can call it whatever they want, its more ways to control the end user at the end of the day. If you're mostly printing multicolor models, go with the Bambu Lab P1P. For single-color prints, the Flsun S1 pro is the way to go.
