This was such a hype moment in the theater. I didn't scream, but most of the other people did. Sonic Adventure 2 is my favorite Sonic game and the one I consider the best of the series, so I'm excited for Sonic 3!

I agree that they very much NEED to adapt the scene that shows Sonic and Shadow having that silly conversation with each other, too. It's from 1 of my favorite cutscenes from Sonic Adventure 2.
I'm glad they got Shadow because he is the only threat bigger than Eggman as well as the only way to top the 2nd movie, but what they really need to make the 3rd movie a huge success is to throw Metal Sonic in the mix. It's completely possible since we all know there is no way Eggman id dead because they found no body and Stone no doubt had a part to play in that. Anyway, Eggman still has Sonic's quill that made his ship go as fast as Sonic, so he can make Metal Sonic to hunt down Sonic as his last creation he can make for the time being because he lost all government support. This way not only is there one big bad villain, but three. Shadow, Metal Sonic, and Eggman. The perfect setup for Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
Just wait till Sonic and his friends and family meet him for the first time. Just imagine how intense Shadow’s fighting skills are in the third movie. Much like Tails who appeared in the post credits in the first movie, Shadow is the second character to appear in the post credits in the second movie. Unlike Tails however, he did not speak in the post credits likely because he was awakened from his 50 year slumber. Like Knuckles who needed a choice of voice actors, Shadow’s voice is still yet to be confirmed.
@@bb3e2 Sonic was never needed to make Shadow. In game canon, Shadow was created decades before Sonic was even born. That seems to be the deal here. The fact that he's a hedgehog is pure coincidence, honestly.
If Paramount wants to go after a big time celebrity, then I think they should go with either Keanu Reeves, Robert Pattinson, or hell anybody they choose. (Though personally, Pattinson would be perfect casting for the Ultimate Lifeform who's vindictive but has been through a lot of sh!t)

If shadows here , then so will there possibly be a perfect chaos and bio lizard/eclipse cannon arc. I could Imagine robotnik would go even more insane and straight up attempt to end the world up instead of enslaving for revenge . Obviously robotnik will attempt to get the emeralds back (the chaos emeralds to cause the emeralds flew off after sonic finished his fight with the death egg, master emerald repaired it self I believe )

Sega writers appear to have confessed it is not easy to write Shadow in any games or media, since he’s got a very complex backstory with a number of conditions. He hates humans, it’s kept vague whether he’s a real or fake version of himself (the one we know today is the real one, but I’m not sure even he knows that), he accompanies Rouge and helps with GUN missions sometimes.. lots of conditions need to be met for him. The movie versions of all these characters may be able to break out of that box for once, and I’m all for it. My personal prediction? If we’re taking the SA2 storyline, with the crashing Ark being a thing, Shadow will remain alive after his Chaos Control with Sonic, but choose to stay on his own while Sonic and his friends stay together. Perhaps, he may love humans again and be the proper crime fighter that Sonic isn’t.
