Well in the comics, Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles are all roughly equal to each other in overall combat power. Sonic is as fast as Knuckles is strong and Shadow's got a nice happy medium, able to match Sonic's speed with teleportation and endure Knuckles's strength thanks to his immortality. I just hope Knux gets his get-back in the movie, even if the final fight will come down to Sonic vs Shadow before they join forces.

Knuckles is why I watched the second Sonic movie. This introduction to him at 1:38 is beyond iconic. 2:59 was just epic and badass so happy Knuckles got his own spin off series.
And to think that, in the third movie, the beatdown Shadow is gonna give Sonic during their first encounter will probably make the one he received in this scene look like a love tap...
Let’s put this together: In the beginning of the movie, it’s established that Sonic is fast enough to easily take apart an armored vehicle before it reaches the end of the block. He can routinely stop time. Knuckles is shown to be able to run alongside him and have similar reaction speed throughout the movie. Yet Knuckles has trouble catching up to a cop car, not to mention having gotten hit by him. Eh, it’s a kids movie: you’re not supposed to use your brain.
If you would have told me that as a kid that Ace ventura would be Dr.Eggman in the future I would not have believed you in the slightest...I love jim Carey's work lol
I never noticed Eggman's funny robot impression why silently saying "WTF?!" Its probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen in a Sonic franchise.

And Tails can create technical tools to assist with the training. Between games of baseball, movie nights, and hanging out with the dog who never really picks up on Knuckles' guardian ethic.
