Apaar Shakti, Aditi, Prosenjeet, Vamika and Ram kapoor make this series a blockblaster 👏👏👏👏 very controlled performance and Apaar and Aditi have amazing ability to create a susbtance with their pauses too.

Just finished it. And never seen such a delicious show with such delicious characters. I wish Aditi Rao Hydari 's character had more to do. Also her acting faltered towards the end. I felt the role needed a more aged actor. Same with Shweta basu prasad, she was brilliant in her silences. And how amazing was Wamiqa Gabbi. My face lit up every time she appeared. What range she showed. And going by Sucharita's review, I did catch the jab we met (geet) reference as you pointed out. "Main to bhaag rahi hu" 😊😊 don't know if that was intentional.
Also a word of appreciation for the actors playing Jay Khanna & Jamshed Khan. They both look kinda similar though they both got enough meat to showcase their talent. Siddhant was just perfect. He breezed through the character.
Aparshakti was a revelation. He had a typical loser face that fit the role perfectly. Brilliant casting. You can never see him as the star Madan Kumar that Srikant Roy wanted to make him and that's just genius.
Nobody apart from Prosenjit Chatterjee could have played Srikant Roy. Every scene he was in was fire 🔥he nailed the arrogant producer. Just perfect.
As an audience I was judging the turn of events that led Jay Khanna witness Jamshed Khan in his last moments but the last episode justifies it. What a great character study. I wonder what all were true and inspired by facts.

Loved Siddhant in the Series, especially when he is entering the Roy talkies in a car and his see of to the guard is such a eye catching . But, I believe the starting scene of Jamshed Khan's Scene which Roy was watching. O MY GOD! It just steals, like damn even through out the first episode you are like that's Madan Kumar, nobody else can be a Madan Kumar . The Looks, the Acting, his presence is just phenomenal! Like unbelievablely Beautiful!

The last episode is sort of a tribute to the legendary Guru Dutt in technique of lighting shot taking. Even the song @ the end reminds of dekhi zamane ki Yari…..

One thing which I would love to ask: the single screen cinemas, those shots of cinema in the series seem to be inspired by regal cinema near kala ghoda mumbai. Sadly single screen cinemas have almost vanished across india. They are heritage, we should preserve them.

It has great story, production, direction, acting and music. Best of all no cheap politics and attacking a specific group of people. A great narrative based on human emotions and values.
The BG music is so reminiscent of so many Satyajit Ray films, esp. in the episodes following 6. Alokananda is a is such a talented gem !
I had been thinking the same everytime I hear the bg music. I think its the influence of foreign orchestra on India instruments and the theme of repeating notes building intensity. But that's a good catch, it sounds very very Sathyajit Ray'esque

One of the greatest show of this decade is jublee , it was not possible in traditional movie format . But please remember this show would not have worked without Aloknanda dasgupta’s background score …
Got the 'Aurat' (1940) reference right while watching 'Jubilee'. Aurat also featured Govinda's father as the husband of Sardar Akhtar who played the title role, while Surendra, father of Kailash Surendranath played the innocent son. Sukhilala was played by the same actor, Kanhaiyalal in both versions spanning 17 years.
Really liked this Serial. Everything every set was created with lot of thoughts and true flavour. Kudos to Director Producer Actors and everyone and everything connected

Btw, was very confused by the location of a violent riot in which Jamshed Khan is burnt by the rioters in Lucknow.....which flies in the face of the city's history. Can anyone provide some source to this? And if not, creating this kind of absolute fallacy is quite irresponsible and not at all artistic liberty!!
I think the second outing of this series outdid many of the good which the first part did...firstly that look change of himanshu rai didn't work for me that clean shaven look took the menace factor out of shrikant roy..plus was a little plussed by my inability or desire to not feel anything for Jay Khanna...i mean he is not a trap not a looser not a wise guy neither a fool ..neither a devil .i had hard time identifying with him plus gupta 's one note portrayal of playing a charming personality like a charming smoke suaving persona didn't do any good..i mean there was something more he could have done ..on the other hand khurana just made a meal of his part and wamiqa was a natural ...the de emphasizing from the mystery of Jamshed also took the tension factor out of the show ..i mean there was nothing at stake in the last 3,4 episodes plus the songs were very good but all of them kept soaked in the feeling of nostalgia rather than taking the story forward.Aditi rao an earnest performer with limited skills had an even limited role in the scheme whereas devika Rani/sumitra devi should have had more agency and a more prominent role in the scheme of things rather than being a catalyst..the rivalry part between Ashok kumar and Raj kapoor was good but for me this was a breakthrough role for aparshakti and wamiqa rather than Siddhant ..And I'm not able to pin point or put a finger on what was the trick missing in this show because the grandeur and our nostalgia for that era swept us all of our feet.
