Loved the picks and the discussion. These videos are the testament that our attention spans are not that short and we can watch 1 hour plus of videos with just 4 people in their home setting if the discussion is engaging. Thanks for putting it together Sucharita.
For me 12 th Fail is the best movie of this year. Vidhu Vinod Chopra is working from 32 years in Bollywood industry but he delivered the best movie of his career
LOOOOOVED watching both videos!! Will try and watch some of these :) Just a cute lil feedback, the listening experience would be so much better if the folks had a good mic set-up like the one Siddhant has.
Also, just finished ‘Bottoms’ and it was just so much fun! AYO Edibiri, the actor that you are. Nicholas Galitzine as Jeff was so funny. It’s the parody pastiche of teen comedies that reminded me of the 2000s in a good way.
Bottoms is the kind of outrageous teen comedy I wish I had watched as a teenager. It's already become something of a classic in queer circles. Ayo has had quite the year and she deserves it. I'm also hoping for more Emma Seligman/Rachel Sennott/Ayo Edibiri collabs in the future.
Really heavily appreciated list and discussion, noted a lot of movies that sounded great and good to hear you all voice the concerns i had with some movies or certain trends in hindi movies, can’t like this enough
Really liked the diversity and the range of the picks! I am relatively new to the channell and found quite some recommendations here that would love to watch as I missed quite a lot of these. I would highly recommend eileen which is based on a book. The movie was extremely well made anchored by its strong performances and a rich soundtrack. The another film would be the absurd comedy film starring nicholas cage called dream scenario. The movie is wild but has a lot of things to say about social media stardom and being viral. These 2 will definitely be on my end of year list.
I went for Dunki with 5 guys.... 3 of us liked it so so much... 2 of us liked the first half and they didn't like the second half.... I feel Dunki didn't work for all... The experience was really totally different from person to person....that has provided the extreme reviews for it which is totally understandable .I loved it so so much maybe cause it was basic and innocent and for some being basic and innocent was the main issue.I laughed a lot and cried a lot. It was really a satisfactory theatre experience for me.
Just completed both videos And never felt bored once, Always like hearing about movies from Rahul and Sucharita. Has been following you from not a movie review days, Great work guys.
I really enjoyed the show gen v, in the same universe as the boys. Was skeptical in the beginning that is was a cash grab opportunity but was thoroughly enjoyed
My favs are May December, Saint omer, the mirror, godzilla, Blackberry, poor things, bottoms, the boy and hereon, past lives, three of us, across the spider verse, you hurt my feelings and theatre camp, AND MANY MORE
"The Creator" was substantial and very relevant to this age of AI and the regulations needed before it goes out of control! Agree that Oppenheimer was a little far fetched, but whoever got it, must have found it hilarious and a big leap from his earlier films!
I feel Sucharita shies away from discussing Konkona Sen’s works - I don’t think I have seen her review her films and she seems very silent about Kiki’s work - I wonder why !
I love how this long form conversation had recommendations that we will never find in other end of year lists. Thank you! Happy new year Sucharita! See you in 2024 ❤
It pains to see that there was a series and a movie made by Vishal Bharadwaj and neither gets even a mention. It doesn’t have to be liked, but at least a mention? I think that he is trying to find his footing in the current landscape of storytelling and attention span.
@@SucharitaTyagi you bunch of idiots are not critics but a big blot on the film critic scene. Fkn bigots, jaha se lifafa milta hai usko promote karenge. South Indian movies nhi hai kahi, Animal one of the biggest hits kahi nhi hai bas ek kaam Karo feminism ka fata hua parda daal ke bhaukte raho
I still care a little about Tyagi’s review . But what’s with all these others who are almost irrelevant in terms of value of their cinematic opinions. I wish Tyagi did this video alone.
Dear sucharita, Y u haven't talked about ANIMAL. yes it is not great Film and In some way not Good film. But Pls You Don't Stop Yourself to talk about any film which u like or not just because of Any Hatred. I was waiting for Animal But It was missing. So Never Step back To Say your thoughts.
Why was Oppenhiemer perfect? Personally I was quite underwhelmed by the whole experience. Barbie was not so impactful too even though they made such hoopla about it. India has way better movies on the feminist movement.
I think Vijay Sethupathi’s role in Jawan was horrible. It wasn’t justice to his ability as an actor. They just focused on Sharukh and it was a stretch.
idk man.. tjmm was so fine technically and way better than rocky and rani... the film had a proper mass non laggy screen play and is so much threatrically enhanced and has more mass elements than jawan , pathan and rocky and rani
Ishita and Rahul don't like Jubilee!! Ishita cried multiple times watching 12th Fail 🙄 It's a reasonably well made movie...but if you find this simplistically told story really moving..u're way too naive to consider urself a film critic. She had loved Ghar Vapsi last year..which wasn't bad..but then nothing noteworthy either.. And then what's with the love for the almost unwatchable Rocky Rani... I couldn't watch till the scenes everyone's gushing about..dola re dola etc...because I couldn't stand it. BAD movie Expected better from "critics' picks"
I hope people see this comment before going detail through their thoughts on 2023 movies. Let me say these people are biased and joke as well. They don’t want to talk about Animal which is second most earning at box office. These are fake feminist and man haters. That means nothing to listen them.

You better keep the title as "best Hollywood and Bollywood" not the "best of all 2023" .... I bet you don't even consider South films in your list
Thank you for mentioning the Great Indian Family ... Such a beautiful movie that definitely went under the radar ... Such an amazing message

Thanks for this - enjoyed it. But you missed what I think was the movie of the year - Manoj’s Ek banda kafi hai

What about “ Leave the World Behind”?
Happy New Year Sucharitaji and Team and everyone else
Big Fan but a little disappointed that “The Railway Men” is missing. I loved the show!
Best show this year I felt is kohhra, great writing, so tight screenplay, performances awesome.... ❤
Just completed both videos
And never felt bored once, Always like hearing about movies from Rahul and Sucharita. Has been following you from not a movie review days, Great work guys.
I'd like to thank Ishita for introducing me to The Bear in last year's recap video, it's a great show ✌🏻and Sucharita for organising this every year 😊
I came here after reading film critics round table. But where are the critics?
You should have also included the railway man, it was really good, kk menon, babil khan, divyendu sharma and R. madhavan... Really liked it.
Best movie is 12 vi fail, I wailed and cried, both vikrant and the actress who played shraddha (didn't check her name, my bad), amazing...
Animal movie is not in the list….must watch for all human beings…forgot suchee is not a humee
Great discussion. One pick I'd have would be "Nyad". Jimmy Chin & Elizabeth Chai are master storytellers
I really enjoyed the show gen v, in the same universe as the boys. Was skeptical in the beginning that is was a cash grab opportunity but was thoroughly enjoyed

This is the one where they will talk about Dunki and Animal
Dunki is horrible.
SRK's performance is terrible also.
"The Creator" was substantial and very relevant to this age of AI and the regulations needed before it goes out of control! Agree that Oppenheimer was a little far fetched, but whoever got it, must have found it hilarious and a big leap from his earlier films!
Why r u afraid to place ANIMAL in best of 2023
None of you watched Balagam?!?!
A couple of female PI shows that were a fun eatch - Charlie Chopra and PI Meena
Guys great list! But you don’t watch any South Indian movies?
I feel Sucharita shies away from discussing Konkona Sen’s works - I don’t think I have seen her review her films and she seems very silent about Kiki’s work - I wonder why !
I saw ‘Barbie’ and ‘Past Lives’ back to back and it was fun 👏🏽
I love how this long form conversation had recommendations that we will never find in other end of year lists. Thank you!
Happy new year Sucharita! See you in 2024 ❤
Happy new year!
Didn’t realise so far that you had merchandise
Hmm... I was wondering all your movies revolve most around North India .or English ?.. Like ones you talk about small beautiful films from Kerala ?..
Irony is the movie whose video has generated the maximum views for this channel has not mentioned in passing .Revenue is welcome but the film is not.
yes cuz it's shit....this is about the best movies
Who care animal is Just garbage masala movie even action scene look very below average
True they don't know about ANIMAL movie craft ,sound design, actors performance , story telling, screenplay 😮😮
@@JayPrakash-zm2hy you like animal because vanga is south Indian 🤣
14:03 Can you believe that Sharmila Tagore was supposed to be Jamini?
Wow... The cis-het male critics hated Barbie... Shocker!!! *eye roll*
That’s being unfair to them both and is a reductive way of looking at it. Siddhant presented very good arguments for his decision.
@@SucharitaTyagi Yes, Siddhant did present his arguments. However, they weren’t exactly what could be considered as “Kenough”.
Great list but why wasn't satyaprem ki katha included ?
Come on you guys are reviewers talk about South Indian cinema, Animal. Don't just focus on movies you like or wish to promote.
Four daughters was an epic watch at MAMI!
Animal is the biggest movie of the year !!!! Don’t hate someone just because you don’t agree with the ideology
How come no mention of Anatomy of a Fall?
Where is salaar
Killers of the flower moon is The best!
Good discussion but some honest feedback: please sit still a bit Ishita. Your constant moving is very distracting.
Please make a 10 min video for quick look

Neither the film nor the series featured in our best or list. Why would we talk about them. This isn’t a “who tried what” list

One Thousands more is a lovely film.
Also My Captain. A tremendous dunki film. It does not mean I did not like Dunki. Much better than PK and Sanju
Also Love Life. A fascinating film. Though 2022 film but watched this year.
Have you seen fellow travelers

I just now notice Sucharita's flowerpot table at the back, hoisted by a chimpanzee!
Isn’t it adorable!
John wick 4 best movie for me.
Amazing that “Past Lives” is missing from the list
Amazing that it’s not. There is an amazing part 1 that would be amazing if you watched.
Mumbai Diaries was great!
My favourite Animal
And these people have not watched the best Indian movies this year 😭 useless

Here for Ishita! ...and also reccos and learned opinions. Also Ishita's absolutely right about Param! XD ❤
