      As a 10 year plus machinist i'd put tom at an engineer level. Most tolerances I see called out on blueprints are way "over engineered" and will work regardless if they actually fall in that range or not.

    I had similar issues trying to get the right offset wheels for my YJ. I don't have the factory bolt pattern, so the offset I need doesn't exist. All the wheels out there are either sticking out 1.5+ inch farther than I want, or are 1/2 inch too narrow. I took the narrower and put a couple 1/4 spacers in there. Not ideal, but I put in longer sorta oddball studs from an old Ford and it worked out just right.

    So an actual tie rod works better than a steel fence post with ends welded to it. What a surprise. A million of your viewers cried themselves to sleep after watching your build and the machinists had to book therapy sessions for the next day. I've been watching you long enough to see it coming after a few minutes and started my session with Jose Cuervo immediately and slept like a baby.

      It looks like they do not know how to drill steal. It is not how fast but how Slow you go to allow the drill bit to cut into the metal. You should normally use some sort of cutting oil for lubrication and to dissipate heat. The bit will cut better if it does not overheat. Going too fast just generates heat and dull the bit.

    Thank you for over an hour of great content. This channel has slowly become possibly my favorite of all on TH-cam. It’s always consistent, and always entertaining. I know there’s a ton of work that goes into making an hour long video like this, and I appreciate all of it from Matt, Tom, and Lizzy doin the dirty work, to the cameramen standing on their feet all day recording everything, to the editors going through probably hundreds of hours of footage every week and cutting together a nice cohesive story. A video this long on TH-cam can sometimes feel like a slog to get through parts of it, but this was fully entertaining start to end and everyone working on this stuff is just doing such an amazing job and I wanna say thanks for making my Sunday morning so nice. I look forward to the Sunday videos because they’re so good and this one might be the best yet.

    It is beyond reassuring to watch you work on those axle shafts!
    THANK YOU!
    PS- It was a joy to watch that 36 inch sawzall blade flap around! I love it when you choose content over practicality!

    Full Rebuild and the test drive in the same video?! This is why MORR has gained 1mil subs since I came across the channel..
    Fantastic Team! TomTom fits in so well, I do miss Trevor and Tucker, heck I sometimes miss goofy ol' Randy chuckling behind the camera lol

    The line " if you're not sure if we should be doing this, YOU should definitely not do this" is one of the best things I've heard. I love the way the 1 of you respect each other's wildly different approaches to everything. It makes for the perfect balance. I love wheeling and stuff but this show has no business being as entertaining as it is lol, you all seem like really great people and while I do wheel in the area sometimes and do hope to meet yall just hoping it's not when I'm stuck so you can make fun of my traction boards lol

    As a fabricator, it really makes me cringe watching you guys do all of the axle fab work and already have the diff covers on the housing. I have to admit, your dedication to doing stuff the hard way is astounding.

    It is good to see the Banana getting some love finally. Let's not forget that it all started with a simple stock (red with a quick OTC yellow paint spray job) XJ that soon became a world wide icon and the start of MORR.

    I really enjoy the banter between both of you, whenever you are working together on a project. I think that Matt is starting to pick up more good habits from Tom. As a former instrument control tech, I love how Tom calculates his dimensions, but when Matt assembles his parts with his hammer tool, I'm reminded when I had to "massage" some parts to make it fit. Love it. Keep up the challenges.

    I love Tom’s addition to the crew, he provides procedural confidence with a distinct personality. However, it may be my imagination, but do I detect a bit of tension and perhaps even annoyance between them?

    • @rzero21
      @rzero21 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps Matt is oblivious about it or considers his friendship with TomTom as strong enough to survive these small clashes over procedures and decision making. Best thing someone can do, is hire TomTom. Either as a Techician or Quality Control, TomTom is awesome.

    Have you ever considered a big semi or train air-horn for the “Big Tow?” K4LA train horns would look damn cool sitting up on top of that cab! - Maybe include an optional second (wimpy) foreign car horn under the hood for when you’re working close to spotters or spectators to minimize risk of heart attack.

    • @jerdan9206
      @jerdan9206 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps I am mistaken, but I thought Matt received some horns at the beginning of the build. On the other hand, I could have confused the horns Robby or Paul received with Matt receiving a set.🙄

    Great job guys and girl! Couldn't do what you do every day, amazing skills and inguinity right on the spot getting things done! If you ever have the issue that the seal area is too short, give the shaft to a machinist and have him spray weld and then turn it down to size and then grind it.

    I think if you sipe your tires you can gain 25% more traction in all conditions. The razor slits just improve traction tremendously. Watching you guys cut slice dice grind parts to conform to your will is amazing. Very few people in the world can do that.

    Why didn't you use the right parts the first time?
    I'm sure companies make the bigger stronger parts you need already plug and play.
    Instead, you went and modded perfectly good parts that now won't even fit in your wheels.
    This was a huge costly mistake.
    New wheels and tires cost a small fortune, and you can't return your parts and get the right ones since you butchered them.
