Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
The fact that Lizzie kept up pretty good with the guys was no surprise, but so did Jamie - IN SANDALS!!!
Safety sandals! 🤣
Rhett continues to impress me with his "Well Rounded Skills."
Quite a young man.
Yep, he's maturing fast.
Rhett is the man in training, matt understands were just the custodians of these skills some1 taught us or we leared ourselfs and if we dont pass them on they will be forgotten forever , matts videos should inspire you to teach the next generation be active in your life and community share your love for your passion get out in the garage and build something you think is cool !
This was a smart way to get everyone to pitch in so nobody had to mount all those tires alone! My favorite quote: “Do you want dinner tonight?”
Loved how Matt muscles it on and Tom uses a more technical approach, but they both get the job done pretty much the same. It’s exactly what we should expect. 😂
I'm a truck driver and just woke up in a dirt lot off of the I-15 in hurricane. 30 minutes left before I can start my shift and this is the perfect thing to wake up to.
The look on Jake's face when Matt humped that tire on was priceless.
As a teen in the 1980's all we had was snap-on tire spoons and a snap-on aviation style balancer from the 1950's. Ended up owning 3 auto repair shops by 2000. I STILL use those old tools.
You know that Lizzie is Ed's favorite haha Rhett has been killing it working on even customer rigs and spooning tires. Kid's got the moxie!
Well Ed probably hasn't seen too many old school hard working cowgirls in the last few generations 😊
Lizzy is *everybody's* favorite.
Rhett really is a rare breed he continues to impress me. Matt is obviously doing something right raising his boys!
“One more year” 😂. Classic stuff!
Love that Jamie and Lizzie are not afraid to get their hands dirty. They jump right in with the rest of you all and get the job done.
Tom might just be one of the best things to ever happen to this channel! Took it from good, to great. Him and Matt balance each other so well, the knowledge between those 2 is scary.
Jamie deserves extra credit for being the only one to do it in flip flops.
Really. She deserves a 1:30 deduction for that.
I was worried for her toes
Rhett and Jaymie were absolutely the most impressive at spooning on the tires. Jaymie did it in flip-flops, and Rhett just absolutely killed it.
And I was wondering if he would even be able to do it he’s like 17 or something not a modern skill we see a lot
@@mikesmith-wk7vy I think he recently turned 16
@@mikesmith-wk7vy not a common skill, but a useful one. Unless you're really serious about DIY, you're not going to have the machine at home, and definitely not on the side of the road. Being able to mount a tire means you don't have to have extra wheels.
Of course, it also lets you do a patch instead of a plug, but having forgotten about a plug for 20k miles with zero issues, I'm not really convinced they're any less reliable in the real world.
Rhett: "...hold my MtnDew"
But breaking a bead on the side of the road...not easy
Ed is so smart people don’t realize he has forgotten more then some of you ever learned ❤
You are correct about Ed but your humility is underwhelming. 😁😁😁. "more than some of YOU ever learned" ???
@@mikeslater6246 he meant that in a good way, because some of the veiwers US are so young compared to him that we couldnt possibly learned even as much as he had forgoten
@@relaxedsand1760 you really don't need to explain it to me. I fully understand his attempted compliment to Ed.
But with all due respect I believe you have missed my point. By using the word "you," instead of the word "us," in the phrase I quoted, he has totally exempted himself from the possibility that Ed has forgotten more than he has ever learned.
Why is there no comment box at the top of this posting
@@dannyw7662 I'm just curious, if there was no comment box how could you have made your comment?
Is there anything Lizzy won't do? She is the definition of a good employee.
I don't think she knows how to play video games
@@JohnFLYes. Maybe...
She's just awesome! 👍
@@JohnFLprobably she does. Seems to be the kind of girl that goes with boys and Girls no matter !!!
I love Jamie’s ability to accomplish keeping up with the boys with the least appropriate amount of footwear. Another great video!
Her shoe selection is horrendous
I was hoping she didnt get a toe between the tire and the rim
They all should have to wear the same shoes
@@larrycopenhaverMt. Crack-a-toe-aahhhh 👽
Open toed footwear is the only way to do actual work.
4:17 - I had my 5yo niece in the car helping to throw candy at Memorial Day. Most of the parade route has people only on the right side of the car; the last few blocks has people on both. Sitting in my wife's lap, the little one said "I'm gonna throw candy to those people over there!" And threw a big handful of candy as hard as she could. Directly into the right side of my head. 😂
Did you die though?
@@chubbrock659 Well, yes, obviously. 😂
@@DaddyBeanDaddyBean glad you made it back!
@@chubbrock659 Thanks. 😂 To be clear, I wasn't complaining - it was the funniest damn thing that happened all day. That handful of candy just exploded all over the car, from door to door and from the dash to the back seat. 🍬💥😂
Freaking love watching Jamie talk smack back to Colin!!! “Do you wanna eat dinner tonight” Priceless!
I'm a Master Automotive Engineer and fabricator, certified by the national youtube comments auto association and I can confirm that everything you guys do will work great
Honestly, one of my favorite things is how Matt addresses the comments. He is polite and concise about it. That's how it should be. People can disagree and have comments and concerns. Matt addresses it like an adult, and I really respect that. Especially in this day and age of the keyboard warriors. Much love, guys ❤️
My thoughts exactly. But you said it better than I could.
Yes!
You would think people would know by now that Matt has a plan in his head of what will work and how to do it mostly. Design changes onthe fly will happen but mostly has a plan. But it is also as other cause it a comment generator point.
Putting a 5.3 LS in a vehicle that came with a Ford cast iron forklift engine is a bit worrisome. But when i hear Ford 9" axle, i think it will be just fine if they also reinforce the track tensioners.. That LS is going to yank those tracks a little harder than the industrial Ford ever did...
Oh, and i'm happy for Matt that a V engine even fits in a Bombi without modifying the chassis 😅
Commercial tracked undercarriages always have a spring in them, in case a rock or a log gets between track and roller...
As one Ed to another,,,, may this Ed still be as spry and wise as that Ed when reaches that Ed's age
Matt really Tom Sawyer’ed everyone by making mounting the tires a competition! Well played sir!!
And turned it into a teaching lesson
You Caught That Too?!?!?!?? I thought I was the only one. Fortunately? It was for our pleasure.
Now.... where's that white wash and paint brush? I've got a fence to do.
huck finn'd
Love my series 3 box!
Jamie's comment about dinner! Priceless....she is a mother who knows how to communicate with boys. Dad hits them in the pocketbook, mom goes for the stomach. 😂😂
I would gladly pay 20 bucks to watch tom go through each tool box giving us a tour and organizing / Cleaning all the tools. In fact I think that would be the most amazing video ever. Please!!!!!
Hats off to Rhett, the "Darkhorse" in the event. Mad respect for Jammie on her performance and Lizzy who was smoking it but then hit a snag. I thought Lizzy was going to be a runner up for the first part. Jaffee hit the wall so to speak. You could tell Ed wanted to jump in and help instead of judging. Matt had the edge, as in weight over the knees edge lol.
Weight is definately a factor to push things straight fast: For the tire guy as well as for the Chiropractor 😊
I really enjoyed the tire competition! Jamie saying do you want dinner tonight was hilarious! Matt you have a great crew right there!
Lizzie is the only one besides Matt that didnt get extra help. Good job Lizzie and Rhett and Jamie really surprised me too. Good job to everyone.
I love that Jaiyme is always willing to do these types of things.
This was fun. Rhett shows his competence yet again. I watch him work well out on the rescues. Good work ladies. Great team of folks. Love the new tool boxes.
I have to admit that I was embarrassed for Rhett when I saw that he was going to be a contestant in this contest. At his relatively light weight compared to the other contestants I expected him to finish at the end of the pack, if he finished at all. So it blew me away when he calmly greased that tire bead, and then just methodically spooned it on. He’s either been paying attention to how tires are mounted or he has his father‘s knack for knowing how and where to apply force to get something done. In either case congratulations Rhett! You hit the ball out of the park on this one.
And just a side question: Does Jamie own any footwear other than sandals?
Rhett and his mom did much better than I thought they would. I like the way Jaymie said "do you want supper tonight". I almost spit my coffee. Good video .
I see Rett as his fathers protege ... a natural with physical things and also mental agility with tricky rescue jobs 😊
where did Rudy get his start? 🤔😉
Ed's the man I hope he's been feeling good.
He looks like he’s doing good. Just have to get him back out in the nugget on a recovery!
Old age hurts. At least he’s active.
Well, I have a little trick that involves throwing the rim into the tire. Momentum does wonders for you to get the tire started. I was expecting Ed to tell one of the ladies that little trick.
Nobody used fire lol
@@thomaslemay8817 lol the ole 12-6 o'clock slam the rim into the tire. That does work to get it started.
Jefe was the only one to have his tire completely on the rim in under 2 minutes other than Matt. That, to me, was the time to watch since how easy or hard a tire is to get the bead sealed is a roll of the dice. GG to all of you.
unless it is holding air it is pretty much useless.
@@iffykidmn8170 The video was about mounting tires with old school hand tools. You have to put air in them even if you use a machine. You missed my point.
@@kogo2951 agreed. I've hat tires that caught air quick and some that took the fires of hell to catch. The real time on spooning is the tire on the wheel. That's why when it didn't want to seat it was all hands on deck.
And by "fires of hell" do you mean starting fluid?
Ahhh! I'm old! I remember Little Toot the Tug! Geez, like 70 years ago! Sheesh! Thanks for that little memory jog, Matt! Interesting tire mounting competition. Yes, it's harder than it looks without a mount to hold the wheels!
I was doing tires since I was 12. I’m 75. As a teen with my own car I removed and installed tires on the side of the road. I spooned all. I thought I went to heaven working at a service station at 14 years old. A machine helped remove tires!!!!! Yes, I installed a tire like Matt, smash the first side on, spoon on quickly!!!!!! Yep I was good. Matt, you know how to do it. I only used water with a tiny bit of soap. Early 60’s style. Great video guys!!!!
Matt and Tom have different, but very complementary styles that, I think, bring out the best in each other. Also, I think they are a good comedic duo. 🙂
Show has declined with Tom tom .. Simply going on recoveries and being nice to customers is what makes the show interesting and wholesome. A monologue with Matt n Tom is a failure. Lizzy has become a backmarker .. Where is Trevor? The rest of the MORR team has been forced to live in Tom's shadow. I'll take a show that features Lizzy and Trevor over a show where Matt n Tom try to get tricky any day.
@@TenGreenRangers Tomtom seams to be the exact contrary to Matt. He is organised, ingenier thinking, computer guy and thats why the duo is great, learning each other. Great team. And of course I miss Lizzy.
@@TenGreenRangers Trevor left. Lizzy is only part-time now; IIRC she's busy with horses, farming and her husband. The team is what it is at any given time. I enjoy the complementary approaches of Tom and Matt.
@@TenGreenRangersI don’t respect your opinion
@@fricote1 The show is changing from following the crew on recoveries to .. Matt n Tom trying to hype their build ideas and be interesting in front of the camera.. I'm not interested in the later. If you wanna build stuff that is fine just don't hype yourself up in the process. The other thing that is happening is that other MORR crew are being pushed out of the episodes.. it's strictly becoming the Matt n Tom Show while everybody else is forced to sit there and twiddle thumbs in the background... that is a Fail. Tom has not been a good addition to the show.. the Recovery episodes are much better than the Matt n Tom-Buddy Show episodes.
Man, I would love to have a guy like TomTom work for me, Someone that actually cares about your stuff and wants to help you to improve your work quality is really hard to come by these days
The fact that you said “for me” and not “with me” might be why you find these people elusive. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
@@chadscott9138 oh, no that’s just my bad English, and on any case I don’t have my own company or anything, it’s just how it works here in Germany; people just do their jobs how they are told to and that’s it, not many people go the extra mile or try to think outside the box, they just do what they are told how they are told, finish their shift and leave. “Oh I need 10 more minutes to finish this task, nope my shift ended, I’ll have re do everything again tomorrow but I don’t really care" that’s kind of how most people think, most of my ex classmates work for brands like Peugeot or opel, but I work as an Audi technician and not because of anything special I just love my job and always try to go the extra mile and do more than I need, even if it’s just small things like refilling the washer fluid, fixing that crooked door panel, changing your clock to the current time or replace missing screws, and that’s why they give me the cool cars and fun jobs and don’t have me changing oil and brakepads all day like some of my coworkers that mind you have higher degrees than I do, I just slowly climbed the ladder by being who I am and doing just a little more that’s why they wanted me to stay and not both of the other guys that applied with me
@@AidenRisk Sounds like you're on the right road, however you got there. Good job and keep it up! Glad you are getting the better tasks. What a sense of satisfaction!
Rear breed
So glad the fire didn't burn into the buildings!
Rhett's been sleeping on some skills! Cheers to him!
Rhett was definitely a surprise in the competition so was lizzy just knowing how 😂😂 you guys got so lucky with that fire not spreading ❤❤
I think Tom is such a great addition to the channel. Matt needed a mature and stable person who has the skill set he needs. 😊
Agreed. But hats off to Matt for hiring him and recognizing that skill set.
Tom is the adult in the group...
My children (before they became adults) were "THE responsible," and I was the adult.
Hey Lizzy
Wasn't Tom a nuclear physicist or something similar?
Rhett's been paying attention to what others do. Getting pretty independent on this and some of the recoveries.
I noticed that over the last couple episodes. Good for Rhett and Matt's other kids, they're really getting a leg up on life learning this stuff at a young age. They (and Lizzy) know more as young people than a lot of people twice their age. I wish I were fortunate enough to grow up in an environment like that.
Rhett is wise beyond his years!
He will run Winders when Matt's old as Ed
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. All his sons are very capable.
These are good lessons for anyone. Good job by everyone.
My Dad ran 700-16's on his 69 Chevy 4x4. We'd load firewood cab high full length of the 8 foot bed. He had an endless supply of old 600-16 1940's Chevy car wheels that were too narrow for the 700-16 tires, so the loaded truck would split the side of the rim out. I seemed to draw the short straw on changing the rim and tube out. He didn't have any spoons so we had to use crow bars. It did set me up for being pretty good at 10:00-20 forklift tires later in life.
I trained my kid, and his job starting at 13 years old was tire repairs before the sawmill went all tubeless. He hated the thick sidewalls on skidsteer tires.
I am impressed with some of the dark horses of the competition, Rhett, Jaymie and Lizzie especially. I liked Tom's solution to Matt's "complaining". Then he missed Matt complimenting the new boxes--"I knew he'd complain!" Great video. That was a cheap way to get 8 tires mounted and aired!! LOL!
Matt's double-knee drop is the key to a fast time.
Until one of your knees hits the metal rim! Ouch!
@@robobloxgamer524 i did tires for years and hit my shin twice, youd be surprised how much focus you put into it after hitting your shin the first time
All I can say is poor Jamie
@@jeremymerrix6236lmao 😂
@@jeremymerrix6236Your comment hit me 5 seconds after reading it 🤣😜❤️
I don’t understand why people haven’t caught onto the fact that Matt is a genius at what he does. Everytime the audience says “oh that’ll never work” it works out EVERY time. They said it about the banana, they said it a lot about the morrvair, and they definitely said it a ton about the wrecker! I think the bombi will turn out super awesome. I believe in you guys!!
Agreed, but Snowcats are a whole different, um… animal. Going to be a steep learning curve ahead, and lots of proto-smithing. They seem to enjoy doing it, and we sure enjoy watching it.
I always tend to assume that Matt knows something that I don't.
Even when I'm wrong, he still makes it work somehow.
@@nigeldepledge3790and the beauty of it is that he’s a big enough man to admit when he’s wrong and take advice from others! He’s a great leader and businessman
I've got a 1930 Ford Model A... there isn't a tire shop I've found that will do the tires on the metal spoke wheels.
So, I got 4 tire spoons, new tires, tubes, etc, and did them all myself.
So much fun!
Matt’s technique falling on that tire with both knees was a game changer! 👌🏻 Mad respect for Tom as well, he’s such a smart guy! 🙌🏻👏🏻🙌🏻👏🏻
I like how Matt raises the decibels a bit when he talks to Ed. I used to have to do the same for my dad. He also used to cup his ears with his hands to increase his hearing.😂 GREAT VIDEO!
As a Tire Technician, thank you for not filling your tires full of foam
Rhett and Jamie for the win. Plus loved how Ed helped out Lizzy. great job too all.
Probably one of my favorite episodes. This is a wholesome channel.
"I don’t want anyone learning anything" was brilliant. Imagine the bruised knees and shins if everyone had been trying Matt’s flying-double-knee-tire-seating trick! Also, that closing line from Tom Tom had me laughing out loud!
Made me think of the MTG statement about not wanting her staff to learn anything !
I'm happy that Matt's son has been paying attention to his dad and all those that have mentored him.
In my day 1970's we had tubes in the tire as well, if you pinched the tube, you took it apart again fixed the tube, and start again, My Land-Rover was running 6 Ply tires Oh what Fun. Australia
It was nice to see everyone from Ed to Collin having what appears to be a good time. As for the new organization of tools this OCD fan feels more at ease with those bright yellow boxes installed.
I'm a retired Army mechanic and have mounted hundreds if not thousands of tires with nothing but spoons and it is not easy I'm impressed with all you guys especially Brett
I love seeing now much Matt and the crew help and show their love for their community. Not many companies show that kind of love and support
Tough job. Well done everyone!
Matt, FYI, I believe the phrase 'lower 48 states' came about when Alaska became the 49th state. On the map, the other 48 states were lower than the 49th state.
That was an amazing competition and Rhett was the surprise. It's fun watching folks do something Ed used to do all the time.
I wish we could have seen Ed show everyone how it's done. I know he's old, but I have no doubt he could have done it faster than Matt!
What a huge job switching those tool boxes must have been.
Now only one person will be able to find the tool they need!
That why they make label makers.
@@gordbaker896 as long as Matt can find the claw hammer, that's all he needs 🤣
@@bouleyloon It should have his own golden storing frame in the shop. 😁
@@kennethelenius6768 When I bought new tool boxes for work, I bought a labeler too. By the time I had all the tools in place and was using them for a few days, I didn't need the labeler. I never used it. In all fairness with multiple people using and looking for tools, it probably would be a good idea 😬
matt and the crew restore my faith in religion being about community and friendship rather than hate and that makes me happy that there's good people out there that are religious but aren't hatefull and just love being a family
when Jamie said "you want dinner tonight?!" i completely lost it.
It may not matter much coming from me, but I'm proud of Rhett, what an awesome job he did on that tire. He's going to be able to do it all before you know it.
A chip of the old block
That kid is a RockStar!
Very talented young man
I wanted to see Ed do one, not in a hurry, but at his pace while he explains what he's doing!
Tom's "I knew he'd be grumpy" with the muffs got me at the end 😂😂😂
Tom's ear muff solution to hearing it from Matt had me dying🤣🤣Wish he would've said the names with the time but, all in all it was great stuff!! Ed was a gentleman👏👏
Tom is so fun, He is a great addition to the channel and hope he stays a long time
Matt’s such a huge member in his community. What a guy
"You want dinner tonight?" 😂🤣😂
The heckled becomes the heckler🤣
Our tire guy. Changed all the tires by hand. On all our companies equipment. From pickup trucks to bucket trucks. Semi tractors and trailers. Plus the large forklifts. He retired a couple years ago. Near the age of 70. Haven't found anyone that good yet. Todays world. You'll NEVER find someone who can/could work this way.
Small-town parades are the best. Especially when you love the crowd, and the crowd loves you.
This video was awesome it has the 4th of July parade with Matt's Off road recovery displaying his vehicles and employee's throwing out goodies to the crown. Good learning video for those who have never mounted a tire on a wheel manually. Good to see Ed, Jaymie, Kolin, Rhett, Lizzy and all the rest of the gang.
The ladies will never have to have help changing a tire that's for sure!!! Awesome job.
I think that this is my favorite video so far, and I've been watching from the start. This one? Had every-thing. Excitement, drama, Ed!!!!, humor, Team Work, cool new tool boxes (I'm a mechanic and jealous), tire mounting, and an awesome parade!!! Way to go EveryBody at MORR. You guys and gals truly are awesome.
Good to see Ed on the channel. Jaime deserves a award for mounting tires in flip flops😊
That was fun to watch, I put tires on in my backyard when I was a kid, worked in a tire shop six months when I got out of the Marines, in 1980, so it was interesting to see the ways people tried to get them started. Good show all around Lizzy was really impressive Rhett was also quite the man. I almost wished I could've been in line. Thanks!
The one thing I have learned about Matt's Off Road Recovery is never doubt Matt and his crew
At first, I thought Tom was going to pull a, label maker from his back pocket … ear protection instead, LMAO!
Matt and Tom are the best team ever! Their skills and delightful personalities make everything they do a joy to watch and be a part of. Even though we are internet strangers and can only share their experiences from a distance, they make us feel welcome and a part of their family and friends. Thank You for sharing everything MORR with us!
Matt, we keep telling you, you need at least 2, and probably more, fire extinguishers on each of your rescue vehicles. One for water, at least. And, another one, at least, for grease/oil fires.
Rudy's rig caught on fire - but, he had a fire extinguisher! Smart kid! You're shop has fires all the time. The In-Progress Wrecker with wires and who knows what else ready to burst into flames. You rescue vehicles with unknown potential fire danger...
All we can say is, we're not surprised you guys had a fire. Due caution seems to be a randomly active super power with you guys. :)
Great to see Ed. Hope he feels as good as he looks.
Always, always talk and listen to your elders, their years of experience are invaluable and it is the greatest way to learn.
I remember a bit from Richard Pryor. “Listen to them old folks. You don’t get to be old being no fool.”
Rudy! Glad he has his bearings straight now!
When I was 16 (1977) I worked at Delta Tire Co in Phoenix. We were the only shop in Phoenix that touched split rims, including 18 wheelers and I was the split rim kid. Man what a job. P.S. We used soapy water, not grease, heavy on the soap.
Ed's a crack up! "You're a better cameraman than you are a tire man" 🙌🏼👏🏼😂
I love how Matt just got all those tires mounted and he really only had to mount one himself. Yeah, I know he has a tire machine and could get them all done himself in the time it took to do this “competition” but that wouldn’t make for good content. Good stuff as always, Matt and the MORR team. Next time you give Jamie tools, make sure she is wearing better shoes. Watching her stand on that tire in flip flops freaked me out a good bit.
Rhett is a real Rock Star! It shows more and more all the time. The kid has a very bright future.
I can remember watching my dad put tires on that way back in the early 70's when he worked for the Shell station. They had a tire mounting machine but dad never used it. He said he could mount 4 tires faster by hand.
Before I retired, AutoCAD was my favorite program to use. I could spend an entire day working on AutoCAD and the time would just fly. Nice to see Tom using AutoCAD.
Young Rhett has got it together like his old man
Always great to see Ed. A wealth of wisdom, and experience.
Ed is such a nice gentleman helping the Ladies out. 👍
I think next time the tire competition should be with tube type tires. I want to see the disappointment on their faces when they air up the tire and find out they poked a hole in the tube. Great video. 🙏🙏👍💪
Jamie wearing her shop sandals putting that tire on had me clutching my first aid kit for dear life.
Jamie would get it done in high heels and a gala dress, in case of emergency 😅
TomTom is like a nuclear engineer
The man forgets more in a day than most people ever
Of course he could mount a tire in five minutes flat 😂
Actually wasn't Tom-Tom a true nuclear engineer.
Tomtom loves his job and probably has never worked a single day ever because if you love your job you will never work a day in your life!
@@johnunsicker7440yes
He isn't *like* one, he *is* a nuclear engineer.
Great video, y'all! Every time I saw Matt do his knee drop trick I just imagined doing it myself, missing the tire and hammering the wheel with my knees. Loved seeing the shower of swag that rained down on the parade. You're the only towing company I know of that has a t-shirt cannon. 😁And Rhett continues to impress me with his attitude, skills, and on-camera charisma.
You guys are the antithesis of that old American Chopper show where they did nothing but argue all the time. I’d love to get stuck down in Utah just so I could call you and get towed out! And the tire competition was very entertaining!
I like how Matt had several tires to mount and made a fun game out of it… he must be a good person to work for… thanks guys…
