*Did this video bring you value? Check out my experiment where I made three versions of one video.* VERSION 1 (original storytelling framework): th-cam.com/video/8LVKqoBLaaQ/w-d-xo.html VERSION 2: (new storytelling framework): th-cam.com/video/Sb3x9z6qPZA/w-d-xo.html VERSION 3 (new storytelling framework, new intro music, new music at 7 minutes): th-cam.com/video/oR-oRcG7OTk/w-d-xo.html I made "Version 1" using the story telling method I have been using to date. I then went and analysed a bunch of videos of big creators, and basically found that observations and reflections closer to the visual story being told is wayyyy more entertaining. Hence "Version 2". While the storyline of Version 2 performed significantly better, I found there were distinct drop offs on both versions: The intro: I don't think the music matches the mood of the episode. Minute 7: I think the music is possibly too out of alignment with my 55+ audience. I went back and changed the music at these two points and released a third version of the story. I am SUPER curious to hear what everyone thinks in terms of which is more entertaining. And, if you find one to be more entertaining than the other, then I will make a video on that method. And of course, if you'd like to support the adventures or the TH-cam analysis, consider supporting the project on Patreon for as little as $2.50/month: www.patreon.com/sailingpivo
HI Daniella, I am just starting out on my TH-cam journey and these tips are really helpful. I started wanting to make a channel documenting my adventures for myself and grow an audience. But I have been spending a lot of time thinking about the message and the purpose for my channel. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and journey they helped. :)
Heya! I am so pleased to hear this resonated with you! I have actually recently switched over to a new channel this month, and part of it will include a biweekly podcast interview with other adventure creators with the goal of helping others grow faster. You can see the first interview linked below, and hopefully it can provide you some value!!! Sending you lots of love and encouragement in your TH-cam journey. It's a hell of a ride!!! 💜💜💜 th-cam.com/video/jwJte4CVVjI/w-d-xo.html
This is such a great video. You touched on a lot a great points. I loved the standards agreement. I think it’s great that you touched on boundaries and empowering people to prioritize that.
Thanks for sharing! I agree with (almost) everything you have said, and i think the tip about filtering comments to protect your mental health is especially important. Lots of people are of the suck it up and get a thicker skin mindset, but to me I don't any time for disrespect. My time is too valuable and the people who are actually enjoying our videos deserve that time instead!
@@SailingPivo good! What did you use? Funny you ask because on our latest episode I originally recorded with my phone but Chris said it sounded “too tinny” and only picked up in one ear. So we decided to redo my voiceovers with the Yeti microphone. SO GLAD WE DID! Good Audio makes a huge difference 👍
@@ChrisandKellNowHere I use an external mic for voiceovers. Tech inc I think. A external mic and fluffy thing for my camera, and I’ve just purchased a lavalier mic to get better audio for these types of videos so I can get more far off angles.

Heya Alex, I definitely think most of them. One of the biggest mistakes I see is businesses thinking storytelling, for example, doesn’t apply to their business, but I think storytelling is one of the most powerful tools. Also purpose of course - get clear about what value you are brining and what specific action you want from your audience. I would guess your content isn’t long form, so that will have an impact on the amount of time you spend and it shouldn’t impact your life so much, but it’s still very time consuming. Did anything stand out in particular for you?
@@SailingPivo it's still hard for me to figure out the best way to use storytelling for my business channel but I tried a few ideas already. and yes, would think about buying a drone:) (joking, all drones need to go to frontline in Ukraine now to kick damn russians out of my country). so when is your course going to be available?
@@alexkoshykov5318 it’s going to be about a year I think, unfortunately, but a good place to start is what is the founding story, what is a story of transformation for one of your clients, what is someone’s path to purchase from start (dissatisfied and needing a solution) to finish (happy and problem solved)?
You caught me while I’m online! Firstly thank you, and yayyyyy! A TH-cam growth video will be out every other week, and an adventure/growth video the alternating weeks. What’s your niche?
