I've owned this car for about 2 years, 180 PS non-hybrid. What I can say is that it's an excellent and very comfortable car for its money (got it new for 32k euro). The only thing that disappointed me is that despite having a fully heated windshield, the wiper area for some reason does not heat up and the standard rubber floor mats don't hold water, allowing it to seep underneath.
There was also a factory defect with the control unit, but it was replaced under warranty.
Other than that, there have been no problems in 2 years, and nothing in the interior squeaks.

For 28k price car, I think interior materials is superb! Better than 40-60k car price. Also the quietness is superb

Love this but I don’t know why they didn’t use the 155bhp 1.2 instead of the 130bhp

Your review is just like Citroen's quirky but thoroughly enjoyable

Will buy one of these when they are a year old at car supermarkets, great value then. I did the same with the new C4 great price when a year old due to depreciation

It certainly looks the part. Quirky and stylish, like a big lemon should do.

It's 3 cars in 1, is it? _"OIL"_ believe that when I've watched the video in full 8-))...
    Dear Howard. Aka _"Aleksandr Scriabin"._
Where can you get one of these PHEV Citroens with a 1.2l engine that costs about £28k brand new?
The 1.2l engine is only in the petrol version. The PHEV engine is a 1.6l.
And as for actually getting a PHEV that's new for £28k, me thinks you may have been smoking something that's... _Not quite legal?_
_However..._ You can get the 1.2l petrol only car for under £28k.
Though it only has 127 bhp and that'll take a wheezy 10.4 seconds to hit 60 and by then, I'd have given up all hope. 😴💤💤💤
Though it's a nice car and I do like Citroen's quirkiness, I still do not see the point of a PHEV. What happens when you run out of "E" after 50 odd miles?
    Great video as always.
    The Z.

you can get 1.2l engine in mild hybrid version, though I'm not sure if in C5X...and PHEV's don't function like "you drive first 50 odd miles in EV mode exclusively and after that it is only dead weight", but it helps on accelerations (when the consumption is at highest), on keeping the steady pace and it recharges itself whenever you lift your foot of the acceleration pedal, rendering most needs for breaking except heavy braking.... so it is useful for far more than just "50 miles"! besides that it can be used in pure EV mode on shorter daily relations/commutes and "in the city" rides like grocery shopping trips or school runs, but it requires a strict daily/overnight charging ... and that is the whole sense of PHEV.... if you use it correctly, it can provide a daily use in EV, but if you have to do longer, 100+ km trips, you're "free" of the range anxiety.... but, it definitely is not a something intended to use on frequent long distance commute... nothing can beat good old diesel at that!

    1.2l engine for this monstrosity!

    • @robtt997

It’s basically the same engine as the Ford eco boom engine . Stellantis and Ford joint design .

Litres don't matter any more . It's about power now ...well since about 10 years ago ...

This is the PHEV and has an 1.8L engine with a combined power of 225HP. The presenter got it wrong

    • @mirkozlikovski9553

"the monstrosity" with this engine has a weight to power ratio around 11kg/hp and weight to torque ratio around 6.5kg/Nm... which is definitely nothing "stellar", but is more than enough for normal , every day driving. Unless you tend to climb Alpine mountain passes every day, that is.... 😉

Looks odd and likely to be unreliable and have poor resale.

A very good reason for a two year, under warranty, lease!

Got one, very reliable, super comfortable and spacious. Ride comfort best car I have been in. Resale value is holding up well for petrol version I have, less so for hybrid version consistent with wider market.

Ooh its everything I hate about a car looks terrible and will be just north of JLR on reliability and it like JLR will be worthless after 3 years avoid like the plague

And that is why you lease it and why the lease is cheap. If you hang around a little you’ll get one for under £200/month (about the same as a Polo). Don’t believe me? LeaseLoco had the Peugeot equivalent for £190/month just a few weeks ago.
