    This is the perfect car for Tyler Hoover (Hoovies Garage) who says no one builds any modern land yachts. Well...Citroen is here to deliver as always what nobody asked for (except for Hoovie) and in doing so manages yet again to create something unique

    As an old git who values comfort above pretty much everything, I am definitely interested in this car . Not sure about the rear visibility, though.
    Good review as ever, Mark.

    Pineapple! For me, nothing - I repeat, NOTHING - in the market even begins to compare with this car! Was already deeply in love with my two previous Citroen C5s (both having the hydroactive III plus suspension), now I have fallen head-over-heels in love with this beauty!

    Very interesting review,Mark, ultra smooth ride and armchair seats,just what I need! The last time I experienced armchair like seats was in a Chrysler Alpine and Horizon back in the late '70s. It would seem that someone in car manufacturing land decided that we all needed hard seats, presumably a cunning plan by the government to keep us awake on motorways but as for comfort. - no chance. I praise Citroen for bucking the trend and sticking to what they are good at. Certainly a car to consider.

    Anyone who has driven a big wafting Citroen of the DS, CX, XM, SM & C6 will rave about the ability to eat up miles at blistering speeds on B roads, across country. Body roll yes. Tenacious road holding delivering a driver fresh after many hours at the wheel with exceptional comfort.
    All about the high-speed waft factor with comfort and character in style.
    Great that Citroen have returned to their roots.
    PS. The Xantia Activa V6 did the sportiness thing with comfort so well it still holds the record for the MOOSE TEST.

    fantastic drone shots of the car... both, in motion and standing still! from above it looks even more striking than from the ground... what color was it? it looked aubergine pink on some moments...
    otherwise, I saw, sat in and been briefly driven in a hybrid Shine version (white, black roof)... absolute comfort and serenity, especially in motion... I was impressed with the level of body roll control, given the amount of comfort it offers to its passengers.... much better than C5 Aircross with passive advanced comfort cushion suspension! I thought it would wobble around even more than C5AC, because of its size and weight, but it didn't! the car really surprised me by it looks, comfort it offers and the way it handles itself on the road.
    and good review Mark, thnx....

    Thanks MArk. Good review. I find Citroens very comfortable when I am a passenger in one. I also do not think they are "Boring" as such. I have never pulled the trigger on one and the reason I haven't is the question of reliability. Have had a few Renaults but after some electrical & quality control issues I'm happy to stick with Toyota for now.

    The problem with the Hybrid is that it's getting on for 10k more than the 1.3 petrol car. You'll never make that back on the fuel savings, and only maybe would in BIK tax. It's probably very nice, but that's a lot of extra money.

    • @talkandplay
      @talkandplay ปีที่แล้ว

      Agree, the Petrol seems the one to get with current pricing.

      @@talkandplay well. The larger Petrol has now gone from the UK market, as has the lowest trim level (sense).
      The 1.3 is a bit weak, but at least it's good on fuel and sounds like a little V6.

    I no longer feel "the need for speed" but with arthritic joints all over my body, comfort is a priority. Used to have a CX long time ago (1990 version in about 2000), then a C5 (14 plate) and my grandfather had a DS21 followed by a 23 Pallas so big Citroens are a favourite mode of transport. Only thing these days is I probably don't need such a large car.

    I've bought the 180 Hybrid and am very happy with it. The car has class. Top Shine model has ventilated seats and a massage function! The front and rear cameras have been upgraded and the 360 ° degree view should be standard on all cars. The rear camera has a wash function too. My family are happy with and I have a less tiring day spent on the motorway❤

    Citroen and Peugeot are just on it design wise at the moment. I love it, but it won't tempt me out of my Model 3 (hilariously I had one as it was rare once upon a time 😂) it will be very rare I fear. Without a BEV option I think they'll struggle to shift them.

    • @ciaranwebb6871
      @ciaranwebb6871 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hmm - remember though most electric cars that are worth considering from a range perspective are getting on for double the price nowadays. With the current economic environment you’d have to do a fair whack of miles to justify that over a hybrid from an economic point of view. Trust me I’ve run the numbers :(

    • @garethsaunders1260
      @garethsaunders1260 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ciaranwebb6871 we've had EVs for 10+ years now, went total EV 3 years ago. Mine does 35k per year the other does 8k a year. Both are still cheaper to run than the equivalent ICE vehicles. For us, even if it was more expensive we'd still run BEV'S.

    • @Perl88
      @Perl88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      EV sales in 2021 were 190,000 or about 11.5% of all new cars sold in the U.K. so I doubt they will have any trouble shifting them even with higher petrol prices.

    • @ciaranwebb6871
      @ciaranwebb6871 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garethsaunders1260 Oh yes I get that, would probably have an EV too if I could justify it. We'll get there eventually but there is a market for this. I'd consider it - the hybrid would do my commute on electric power easily (and thus save me money) and I can still do the long range stuff without having to have a £50k+ EV. Anyway rapid charging is so expensive running fuel on long journeys doesn't really increase cost.

    We buy far too many items from China and are too dependent on Chinese made goods. This is made in China and for that reason along with some BMW's, Mercedes Benz and VW group cars should be avoided. This car should be manufactured in France or at the very least in a European country.
