      Yeah it is a little shame about the quick release but I got the frame for £70 so I'm not too unhappy

    Are you supposed to use a epoxy primer on bare metal before using paint primer

    How many days did it take to completely strip the bike

      @solmackay  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you could do it in a few hours with the aerosol stuff

    Are you able to link the products you used to strip, prime and paint? You've inspired me to do the same for an old, but good frame I've got. Thanks mate!

      Yes!
      I had the most success with the Autotek Aerosol Paint Stripper.
      I never primed the surface but rubbed it down with steel wool before coating with rustoleum clear gloss lacquer. I used around two tins of the stuff for a nice durable finish. Spray this stuff on in really light coats otherwise it will run. Also make sure the frame and lacquer are warm or it can go cloudy!

      @@solmackay awesome advice mate, thanks! Thoughts on paint?

      Just make sure your paint is the same base as your lacquer and primer coat. Id recommend using automotive spray paint and buying all three from the same brand to ensure all three are compatible with each other. Some combinations can react with each other and look pretty minging lol

      I found some nasty stuff on ebay its called power strip and it's for professionals only or for idiots who want to strip there £500 bike and repaint and fix it up since both brakes are fucked from crashing it a few times note if I am gonna have a better bike £1000 will be what I spend on a decent bike or look for maybe 2k for a carbon frame but since I have a 15kg hard tail merida cross country bike I wanna stick a 12 speed because my bike only has 8 gears I think lol
