Many oil stores don’t do this for you because every car is different unless the people who charge it know, it’s always good to know to do it yourself right after oil change

My dash shows maybe 17-1800 miles left for service and that’s for the rear brake pads, will this method work as well to reset it? Because I am changing the pads myself so just want to know if I can reset the mileage on rear brake pads as I a dealer did it?

I’m having the same issue. Parking brake is off but it still says unsuccessful. I’ll try again in the morning. Wouldn’t work on my x7. Maybe I damaged the sensor when I reinstalled
That's wrong for my 530 d 2019 you have to press the wee black button in the lower left corner of the instrument cluster just thought I'd let you know.
On the handful of BMW vehicles that I reset the service intervals on, which were all 2020 models, a reset micro filter warning was not displayed. From what I read for 2020 models you may only need to reset the service interval, I'm not completely sure though.
@@MrJohnDoe09 see the oil light has gone off and on the digital service book oil is reset but the micro filter is still on because i didn’t do it from BMW so they didn’t reset the micro filter

Timing is key that's not to say you did it wrong, but try holding the bc button down first then pressing the start stop button 3 times. Continue holding the bc button as described and see if that works for you.
@@muland1824 that could be possible, but I didn't have the seat belt on when I was showing how to reset the oil life. So it might be because of the check brake warning.

THANK YOU It worked, if the message indicate a failure for brake reset, you should take off the handbrake then it will magically work.

How often are you changing the oil on your x3? I believe bmw recommends 10-15 k. I have a 2020 x3 as well .

I don’t get the engine option when holding down the BC. I get the other options but not the engine oil

It’s the hidden mode on instruments panel which pops up if you have contact number I can what’s app you the pictures
I have a g20 330i. For me, I have the old dashboard, and I need to hold my odometer reset button instead of the BC button.

For the 2020 330i xDrive your seatbelt has to be on to do the oil reset, you failed to mention this...
The vehicle in the video did not require the seatbelt to be on as it was a 330i, not a 330i xdrive.
Has anyone tried to reset their brakepad light and gotten "Reset Unsuccessful"? I'm wondering how you may have resolved it.
I ended up trying it again the next day and it worked. I think the sensors needed to recalibrate or something.
