- Newer models from around 2019 up don't have a button on the instrument cluster to reset the light. This is how it's done without a machine.
Note If you are resetting a brake pad service, the brake wear sensor must be replaced as well before performing this procedure.

Great video. I have a 2023 440i so I had to toggle the BC until the trip odometer was on the screen then I held the BC button down for 10 seconds until the oil reset option displayed. Not sure why, but if I had a different display I kept getting a Main Menu with lots of other options pop up
I’ve been looking for weeks for somebody with a newer bmw like mine and you are the first I’ve come across who has managed to work this out so Thankyou.
Mine wouldn’t work until I toggled the bc for the media display was in the screen in the video. Otherwise I kept getting a different menu box pop up.

What service are you trying to reset?
@@MikeMDs engine oil is unsuccessful. Visual check is 'reset not possible'
It is possible the oil level sensor is faulty or a rodent chewed the wires at the sensor.
Does this work for brake fluid reset?

I've seen this guide so many times, but why it is not working on my 2020 M340i. While holding BC button, I only get main menu pop up, cant find any information why, anyone know why?
You might need to put the vehicle in diagnostic mode. With the doors shut, press the start-stop button rapidly three times. Wait a few seconds. A message will pop up in the cluster stating diagnostic mode active. Then try and reset your service.
On newer models it’s slightly different, Once you get the vehicle in diagnostic mode, press the BC button until the digital display shows the odometer, then press and hold the BC button for approx 10 seconds and will bring up the service reset options.

Didn’t work on my 220i xDrive model. 2020. the first step works. But then is says the same again after the second step.

I could not get it to work on my X4. Ugh, the brake pads need to be replaced, and it is not for 700 miles, want that reminder gone! I held that button for so long, nothing...
