Its really hard for a any startup like this to survive because they don't have any revenue as they try to fund clinical trials and proof of concept projects. They burned through all their cash and even sold the rights to their DMT study to another company.

As to your water in the solvent question, usually it doesn't even matter quite frankly, it will go back to liquid when you take it out of the freezer and eventually evaporate away. But if you really wanted to eliminate that, you could try using a small pipette to suck it up. Of course even better if you just try harder to keep water out in the first place (but I know how easily it can happen).

I would say the QUANTITY, not "quality" depends on the bark (keep in mind that many factors are involved with bark quality, including seasonal fluctuations in alkaloid content, and the maner in which it was harvested - only the inner portion of the outer root bark is high in alkaloids). The freeze precipitation works best when you reduce the solvent and title the plate in the freezer so the crystals concentrate in one small area. Crystals like to grow on other crystals. Hey Gordo, I have a quick chemistry question. When acidifying DMT, is the DMT protonated at one or both of the nitrogens? I have found some literature suggesting that only one nitrogen gets protonated, but I am not certain. Additionally, if it is indeed only protonated at one nitrogen, which nitrogen is it? Did some more reading and eventually found that the nitrogen in the pyrrole portion of the indole doesn't accept a proton because its lone pair electrons are sp2 hybridized and occupy a p orbital, which ties into "aromatic stabilization" of the ring. So, essentially, the nitrogen couldn't bond to an additional hydrogen unless it somehow became sp3 hybridized, which would fuck up the stability of the pyrrole ring.
I'll nail my colours to the mast here GT, all this talk of revenue, patents on "delivery methods" and trading in a video based around DMT based healing makes me extremely nervous.
I understand your perspective, but the way I see it is private businesses can help expand the research and knowledge base. These guys are FAR FAR from profitability, so what that really means is that investors are essentially just funding psychedelics research, it's almost like charity at this point, with only some small hope for potential returns years into the future. As far as I know, no one else is pursing the interesting angles that this company is pursuing, so that is a good thing. If these guys discover that DMT is just as effective as psilocybin for treating certain conditions, that's a big win and helps everyone including non-profits and psychedelic healing centers and therapists. It could lead to Oregon decriminalizing DMT and allowing treatment centers for example, like they are doing with psilocybin/mushrooms.

I believe we're all individually at different stages and that saying that one drug is better or more effective than another at this stage is too dependent on other factors. But I doubt we'd hear these guys speaking of patents etc in administration for psilocybin or any other substance that's easily dosed by mouth. Basically, it's in their financial interest to have DMT to be proved more effective. I also highly doubt that Oregon or anywhere else needs the help of the commercial sector to guide their decriminalisation efforts. And of course, legalisation for therapeutic use is totally different than decriminalisation for all. I respect your own choice of content but personally there's no way on Earth I would have given this guy the time of day on my own channel.
