Nice, thank you! This is a very inspirational video for spearplay researchers, I can see the lan na zha done in a similar way to certain styles as taught in mainland china (which is very similar to the contemporary wushu way) while many shaolin or shaolin-origin schools do it in a different way (more like in southern styles, using the arms instead of the whole body as shown in the video). 🙏

Good eye! Indeed in Han Qingtang's Shaolin Changquan, they do Lan Ma Zha with the back hand not leaving the waist.
I've seen the same way of doing it when I've tried the bug spear at master Lin Zhongxi (Wutan style Baji).

@@wushuquestofficial Indeed, similar to baji, also some xingyi and of course fanzi, chuojiao, etc.. My take on this is that the modern style lannazha and many other spear basics comes from Shaanxi's Ma family (through Ma Xianda) and/or similar tongbei related styles/families/branches.
